  This is really good. Thank you. Any chance that you have a fourth of July or July 1 (Canada) sale on your packages? As a casual hobbyist I would not normally go for such things but your channel is one of two that has really taught me how to use C1 so I figure even if I don't think I have much need for such things I might be pleasantly surprised. I bought this huge C1 custom style package when I got C1 and I find I barely use it. When I got the upgrade, it came with a small "beyond film - advanced" package and I occasionally apply it. Yours is the first that I just assume would be a step above.

  Just tested it, the bot gives helpful advice on how to use the Adjustments Clipboard and Smart Adjustments. But since there is no Capture One tool or easy way to replicate a color grading from a reference image, the bot can't provide such a description as well:)

  @@AlexOnRAW I think for a "fair" comparison you need to pick your one default white balance style and apply just that one to the 100 photos and compare with what C1s one method achieves. I feel confident your style would also win that comparison.

  well, if the auto WB gives a warmer look on portraits, then you suddenly prefer your own cooler look, and if the auto WB is a little cooler or natural then you prefer the warmer look 😀 to me it looks awfully like you prefer your look no matter what would be interesting to make a real blindtest for you, where you don't know if auto WB or one of your styles was used. that would be much more convincing if your styles then win... 😂

  Thanks for your comment! Since color is very subjective, I try to give customers as much information as possible before they buy. That's why I offer 5 sample styles and recorded this video. These styles are not ideal, they don't work 100% of the time, and more importantly, your understanding of correct color may differ from mine, and that's perfectly fine. Some photographers find them extremely helpful, some don't. This video and sample styles are just to help separate the former from the latter before you spend money on them.

  I haven't tested the NextGen styles with the Linear curve, but I think they might work pretty well with it. Feel free to download 5 sample styles and test them with your images! Discount is applied by default, no code required.

  Unfortunately, Capture One for iPad doesn't yet support Smart Adjustments and AI Masks. But when the developers add support for these tools, the styles should work on iPad as well.

  Yes the white balance works as it showed. I’ve spent 2 hours trying to trick them with alsorts of images from weddings, portraits, to neon light lit images and they hit the skin tone every time. One image I wasn’t 100% liking the portrait wb so I hit landscape neutral and that fixed that one instantly

  Additional note: If you want to export a 3DLut from 3D Lut Creator, that is, convert it into an ICC/costyle file format for Capture One, be aware that the exported style may turn out to be unusable. The solution is to rename the exported ICC file associated with the costyle file. For example, rename it as: Csirke.costyle and Csirke.Csirke.icc (instead of Csirke.icc).

  Thanks of your teaching. You said, (early in the video) "I will use the Magic Brush to quickly mask out the face like this..." So, what I could figure out to do is to 1. choose the Magic Brush on top Horizontal menu. 2. Hold down M and click on face. Which I saw the masking (red) but of course, I had to let go of holding M and the mask disappear. So when it happens like this is my masking still take effect in forward steps???

  1. Shift + Command + C, 2. Select the Background Mask and apply a Luminosity Mask excluding the Highlights, 3. With Custom Shortcuts you can adjust any shortcuts to the buttons you want them to be 4. I absolutley have no Idea :D 5. You can Copy your Adjustments and deselect the layers.

  Thanks! 1. Shift + Command + C - this is a shortcut for Copy adjustments, not flip crop. Moreover, there is no such command to flip the crop at all :) 3. Well, but there is no shortcut "Rating + Color Tag" command. 5. Yes, but then you need it to repeat every time you copy adjustments. In my case I copy adjustments and I don't need to uncheck layers after it.

  Hi Alex, great expert course! I do have a question - when saving a custom style, for example from 11:46, when saving with the layers made my style only gives me an option to "add to background" and not a layer. Am I doing something wrong here or is it Capture?

  Hi Nic, thanks! That is perfectly fine, if you have a style with layers, you can apply it to the background only. Because it's just impossible to apply layers to layers.

  Hi Alex, thanks for your lesson👍. Just one question about applying LUT's through styles - I tried to repeat all your steps to do that trick, but get nothing. What am I doing wrong? May be it works only on Mac OS (I have Win)? My C1 version is 16.3.6. I see my styles with included .icc profiles in Style location and when I try them to apply to my photos - nothing happens.

  Hi, that is strange, the trick works on both Mac and Win, there should be no problems with that. Try the free LUT styles from Lutify - lutify.me/free-luts/ If they work on your machine, then there is an issue with the creation process.
