Hi there! I know this was made many years ago, but I am still interested in your process. I am making a zine right now on indesign, and I am confused on how to print foldable zines. Everyone online besides you seems to be paying someone to print their zine for them, but I want to just print mine at home. Would you be able to show me the template you use for your zines and how you export to print?

For anyone confused, here's a breakdown of the process as I understand it (as someone relatively new to zinemaking) 1) (not pictured) Find a theme or concept for your zine. The amount of planning you do will vary from person to person - I like to plan out every little detail before I take my pen to paper, but others just need a general theme to work with before starting. 2) Begin creating the illustrations! These can be done digitally or by hand. 3) Begin creating the text you want! Some people do steps 2-3 at the same time, others do step 3 then step 2, I like to do step 3 in the planning process. It all depends! Some zines might not even have text. 4) Import your images into the zine template. If you draw traditionally like her, you'll need to scan your images first. If you don't have a scanner at home, most libraries have one, or you can use a scanning app! I recommend CamScanner, it's on IOS and Android and creates crisp images. The watermark can easily be cropped out as well, if you don't want to pay the subscription fee. 5) Organize your images and text. This is honestly one of my favorite parts, getting to see how everything falls together is so satisfying. 6) Print out your pages. Cut them to the proper sizes, if needed. 7) Bind the pages together! Depending on the type of zine, this may vary - Some zines are made by folding a single sheet of paper, and require little to no tap/glue. Others are sewn or stapled together, like this one! There's all sorts of methods. 8) Enjoy your new zine!

Hi ! I haven't been checking comments for like a year lol -- I used an awl (pointy thing) and a bone folder. Both can be found at any craft/arts supply store. :)
