    Thanks. Yes, the Trans Sport is the same as the Montana, Silhouette, Venture, Uplander, Lumina Van, etc. Unfortunately, my 2000 Pontiac Montana Luxury’s dash shattered into several pieces just from my initial dusting and cleaning the windows so there is no way it will survive this. The dash is probably part of the duct work so it needs to be repaired or replaced along with the actuator. It isn’t safe to drive in all weather without defrost so I’ll be attempting this for sure. I hope the dash and actuator are all I need. Wish me luck! Thanks.

  • @MrOccasionalPoster

    I'm not an engineer so use your best judgement! Keep in mind you need room for the hammocks to swing a little bit. And the size and weight of the people in the hammocks will definitely make a difference as to how much each post can hold. My kids are teenagers now and still use these original posts; they have held up pretty well with gentle use. Your mileage may vary!

  • @TheBadpav

    I just did a quick calc. at 250lbs man attached 7 ft up, on a 6x6 - that load is ~450 lbs and equates to 1300psi at the beam surface. that's right at the failure load for a #2 prime beam. It was just a matter of when it fails, not if. You're lucky it was only stitches. Could've killed you.

  • @MrOccasionalPoster

    The vinyl "sleeves" are really vinyl fence posts that I just cut to the depth of the whole. They're sold in 8 foot lengths for a six foot fence. I bought one and cut two 3 foot sections out of it.

    I'm not an engineer and I make no guarantees, but these are holding up fine after daily use for over a month with kids and average-sized adult use. Maybe anyone over 200lbs could adapt the design with just some larger eye bolts that go all the way through the post with a nut to secure it on the other end. We are starting to see the holes for these hooks "expand" with use, still safe but over time I'll probably redrill and attach them in a new place on the same post.

  • @TheBadpav
    @TheBadpav2 жыл бұрын

    @@MrOccasionalPoster Engineer here, too! Tension dead load on those hooks is more than 450 lbs with a 'merica sized adult. Well north of the rated load for those hooks. With my kids, it's the "live load" I encounter since mine like to "bounce" in the hammocks. A larger diameter Eye bolt or lag in a 6x6 is probably closer to what you need, UNLESS you screw an eye into the concrete base on the other side, and route the line through the pole. This cuts the bending load tremendously, and your 4x4s would even hold up to the tubby challenge. Otherwise this is a super clever setup. LOVE IT!

    I just bought a 2018 Titan and lifted it and having the same problem. I just found the squeak on my 2019 Frontier pro-4x. There's a small black brace that rubs on the front exhaust heat shield just behind the front passenger wheels. The shield just rests on that brace and rubs (squeaks) whenever I close a door or drive on bumpy roads. I sprayed a bit of WD-40 and It stopped. Not sure how long it'll last. Might have to use grease instead. If not that, try lifting your hood and see if it still squeaks. Some have had issues with the hood latch rubber stops making noises.Hope this helps, I'll post this comment on a few of the videos about Nissan squeaks.Cheers

    Thank you! Following your info I eliminated a squeak from hell on my new 2018 Nissan Frontier. The effing squeak was driving me crazy, I thought for sure it was either at the spare tire or the front suspension. I could only get it to happen at about 45 mph on a mildly bumpy road and the dealer was useless. My trucks plastic is different at the radiator, there's a couple of mounts, but wiggling them didn't do much. But then I started wiggling other stuff and the power steering fluid container was the culprit. There's a white plastic tab that slides into a steel channel. Twisting the whole container back and forth made a shreiking noise. After lubricating and a test drive - it was gone. Thank you!

    Son of a bitch....I've been looking for this noise for months! I thought it was possibly stabilizer bushings or something that would be annoying to fix like strut mounts...checked under my hood, and sure enough it was that stupid radiator neck. I made a bracket out of some scrap aluminum with a rubber grommet to keep it still, and the noise was gone! You have no idea how much of a life saver you are hahaha.

    The title of this video is misleading. The video is for a recirculating actuator not a blend door actuator.

  • @emmettturner9452
    @emmettturner94522 жыл бұрын

    If we really want to be pedantic then it is the fresh air/recirculate actuator since it does both. ;) I believe the entire reason it keeps clicking like that is because it cycles to a limit switch since it doesn’t know where it was left before the power was cut. That is why these fly-by-wire type systems can have more complicated mechanics too.
