So yall the ones I hear in my backyard 😂
This guy is slow
Video!!! Let's goo!!!!
Great tutorial, def keep doing them if u can 😊 best one I’ve watched for VIR cheers dude 👍
Great video. Both laps help. Thanks.
Wow this is an amazing track guide! Great work dude, please make more.
Awesome video thanks! Noticed where I was loosing speed and should be able to shave a couple seconds off now.
Thank you. I've been using 2nd through the twisty bits which gives me more control but I've been slow as molasses. Ok for Safety Rating but lousy for everything else. Keep up the good work.
Sometimes it feels like it's lugging (slow) in 3rd but it's often faster to just leave it in 3rd and stay off the throttle longer. Best of luck this week!
thanks buddy going in to do a time attack and these are always helpfull
Awesome, glad I could help! Stay away from those sausage curbs and apex tire barriers!
I’m a new sim racer I get a bit overwhelmed when it comes to memorizing turns and stuff like that (especially ones with a more smaller turns) do you know where I can get that map overlay? It would help a lot 😄 and thanks for the guide! Rudskogen flowed so nicely for me but been struggling with this one lol
if im not mistaken its racelab the track overlay may be a paid feature but they have some cool stuff for free
Yup it's Racelabapps and it's a paid feature. I had previously used (simracingapps.com/) which has a track map. It's a bit of trouble to get setup but could be helpful!
New sub here, love the single seat class for advancing, seems a lot more sensible than mx5 racing 😂 more single seat please.
The single seater are such a blast to drive. The instant response is addictive for sure. Will be making some more content for the single seaters soon!

Would love to see some more miata videos for sure!
Thanks for the feedback! I'll see if I can keep doing the Miata and Vee for this season.

Thanks for the breakdown, found it clear and concise. Also found it a couple of orders of magnitude beyond where I'm at. Total noob to racing sims/games with a few hours practice & 3 races into Rookies S3W12 at this track. I'm lapping about 1:50 repeatedly & 1:49 with 'offs'. Looking forward to breaking the lap down and using your instructions. Cheers again for taking the time to put this together, appreciated.
We all are starting somewhere and long tracks like this are extremely hard to learn quickly. Make sure you're focusing on 1 or 2 corners and perfect those each lap! Hope to see you out there on track!
Why are you braking to 100% in a car that locks up beyond 85%?

Thanks, will do! Got the other lap guides out super early this week so don't forget to take a look when you get ready for some practice!
i've learned so much from you videos thank you! both first and second laps are useful
Awesome, thanks for your feedback! I think I'll stick with this format based on the responses I've gotten. Hope to see you on track!
I just picked up iRacing after playing ACC for about a year as my first sim. between this car and the MX-5, it is very tricky getting used to the braking in particular, but it's fun learning to drive something different than GT3s. thanks for this guide.
The physics can definitely take a bit of getting used to in iRacing compared to ACC. In my experience though iRacing feels the closest to actually being on a real racetrack and racing. I've found that the MX-5 is setup to be really loose and is a really good learning car. I enjoy hopping in some of the open wheeled cars that you can just point and go.
Thank you buddy. I got iRacing yesterday and I have been spamming this combo; it has been pretty fun even though I am playing with controller at the moment. My best time is 1.05.155 but with your help I think I will do better.
1.05 with a controller is crazy impressive! One of these days I'm going to have to switch back and see how hard it used to be. Good luck out there!
Thank you budd. I just finished a race trying to do as many things as you advice. I got P2 because of a spin (touched a bit of grass), but I got my fastest lap yet: 1.04.651 . You should try if you are curious, I don't think it is that horrible with this combination.
Crazy good time. I was stuck at 1.05.011 and didnt really know what to do to squeeze the time, first corner is gonna be it for me probably. I‘ve experimented quite a bit, I used to shift down to third and had a slightly different line, which probably slows me down by alot. The throttle lifting and shifting mid turn might get a bit hard. I would imagine if timed incorrectly you just lose the car lol
There is so much time in T1. I started out brushing the brakes and shifting early but the time lost in corner entry is actually quite a bit because of how much speed we can carry through there. A big thing if you're working on the shift mid-corner is to straighten up the steering wheel right before attempting it. That'll help reduce the rotation along with trying to rev the engine a bit as you shift to try and smooth it out. Practice staying in 4th the whole corner and once you've got the line down, start experimenting with shifting nice and late and then move it back each successful lap! Good luck!
thanks man i got my simulator about a week ago and these videos help me sooo much
That's awesome! I'm trying to put together some content for people just getting into iRacing soon so keep an eye out!
I love these videos their great! Question, what do you mean by "trail braking"?
Glad you like them! "Trail braking" is when you slowly ease off the brake pressure as you turn in. 0 trail braking would be braking completely in a straight line, releasing the brake completely, then turning the steering wheel. The reason this helps us is it helps induce oversteer (rotates the rear end) which allows us to avoid understeering past the apex.
This is great thank you! Very often i find myself applying the brakes early to start turning my car in with very little to no brake pressure. I will try to adapt this technique in this next week of racing. I watched your video on the Oran Circuit MX5 Track lap guide and improved my time greatly from it. looking forward to racing at VIR. @@loveracing
Very informative .....Many Thanks !
Glad it was helpful! See you out there on track soon!
We out here doing 45.5s round here in the mx5
The last top split qualy from a 5.5k driver was a 45.9. With the draft in the race, times should be quicker. But either way, my target audience isn't the aliens but more geared towards the 1-3k drivers. Thanks for the watch though!
@loveracing yea sry, I didn't mean for my comment to come off cocky. My apologies. i was just sharing what i had just got to as a pb. Tbh, this week is the first time driving this version of oran. I'm only 2800, ir. Also, I've only seen 1 guy do a 45.6 in qualifying, but typically, it's high 45s on pole . It takes 3 to 4 laps for the tires to come in to get down to mid 45s.
Haha no worries. I hadn't done this track config either and didn't see any good lap guides which convinced me to get back into them. Unfortunately I haven't gotten into any officials yet but looking forward to those cold tires! We're pretty similar in IR so maybe I'll see you around the top splits!
This was so helpful thanks!
This video was so helpful, thank you!
EXCELLENT lap! God that place looks fun.
FYI on the full speed at the last corner, you said shift to 3rd but corrected yourself in the breakdown and said 2nd gear. Nice video.
Great guide, thank you. I’ve just started back on iracing after a 4 year break. I did have triples but currently on single monitor but planning on going VR. I can get into the 1:38s but I’ve see someone go into the 1:36s, how is this possible? 🤯
Hey, love your guides! Any chance you are going to add these olap/blap files to your site? Seems to be missing the Okayama ones for the Vee. Thanks for all your work!
Promo SM
awesome video brother, just started and picked this car and track for my first race so im practicing a ton. Very helpful!
The 8-9 combo is killing me, hope this helps! Thank you!
This looks a lot of fun. I think I will end up biting and doing this track on the FF1600 along with the Vee this week, since Jerez participation is kinda low.
It's a blast at Okayama in the FF1600. I had some mic issues this last week so the Vee lap guide is likely going to get put out sometime late tonight. Sorry about the inconvenience!
@@loveracing Okayama was very kind to me with the Vee last season, but I am sure there are more things to learn there.
I swear every time I touch the left curb in the last turn I spin lol There was a lot of screen tear reported on VIR last night so we'll see how she goes tonight. Cheers mate
Thanks. Very nicely and profesionally made guide
Great video! Super helpful!
You're still doing Vee's lap guides??? This is great. I will tackle this combo this week alongside the FF1600 at Donington park! This guide will help me gain a few tenths from my last season time for sure.
There is a lot of cars that are so much fun to drive and the Formula Vee is one of them. I'll be here all season! The FF1600 is a handful so good luck!
thanks for it
Thanks Nick. I was stuck in the 128.5 range. 15 minutes after your video I'm in the high 127's. and I'm sure I can find more.
I can already tell I will have a lot of trouble with braking and turning reference points in this track. Excellent guide as always. It will surely help me get better at this track faster.
THX for the video, without the music he would be better
Been following your channel for a while and have been matching your times in the last two weeks or so. While your guides don't give super fast alien lap times like others, they still provide really good times and a much more realistic marks for newcomers and less skilled drivers to aim at. Good stuff. Take my subscribe.
Thanks for the sub! I'm definitely not an alien. My goal is to give the newer and mid-tier drivers attainable times to quickly get them up to speed for the week.
@@loveracing And that is a commendable goal. You are doing a great job!
And that’s extractly why I’ve the notifications on this channel as I know I would be able to improve straight away without spending too much time figuring out myself or frustrated trying to replicate alien lap times 👍
Good video, it’s a tricky circuit with those chicanes. I seem to now be in the high 1:53 but as you mentioned time is lost in those chicanes but when I push I crash :-(
Nice video. I enjoy the breakdown detail. Hope to run into you on the rack some time!
