    Indeed, it’s very hard to focus on the (interesting!) words with the dominant background music, especially for people with nervous system imbalances. Otherwise, loving the content and all your work ❤

    If it really helps people, why isn't it offered completely for free? Or offered through a doctor's clinic/hospital? I live an incredibly unstressful life and have for a while now, and yet I seem to be getting worse and worse CFS-like symptoms. I changed my eating habits over a year ago (to whole foods and no unhealthy snacks) and that significantly reduced my anxiety and depression as well as the intensity of migraines ... yet still when I do anything physical my body can't handle it. And I've gotten worse out of the blue for doing things I had previously done every day. Also, who are you? Are you a neuroscientist? A neurologist?

    Lots of good tips-thank you! I also experience morning anxiety especially on work days. When I wake up I don’t like to lay in bed. I get up and do a ten minute walk around my kitchen and living room. Then I do about 50 modified burpees. I usually follow that up with a 5 minute meditation. After that I give myself plenty of time to eat my breakfast, get dressed and head off to work.

    If the freeze response is normal, why have I not seen it in other people? I have had 57 years to witness it. I am the only person I know of that experiences this.

  • @re_origin
    @re_origin17 күн бұрын

    Hi David- Freeze response can often be masked more easily than fight or flight because it is more of an "internal" looking response to stress. Many people also have something called "functional freeze" where they can get things done throughout the day, but then struggle to do small things at home like the dishes or laundry. It is very common and it looks different on everyone. You are surely not alone!

    Comparison is the thief of joy. I've noticed that when I start thinking about why Im not where I should be in life. Is when I start comparing myself to others. When I watch a movie or go out into nature, look at the trees flowing in the wind or smell fresh cut grass. I feel so much better.

    We can extend the number of F words from "fight, flight and freeze" to "fawn", meaning to act submissively to others, and "float", meaning to drift along taking no responsibility for your situation. An alternative approach could be to "go figure", meaning to work with your therapist and think through your responses until you have an approach that feels right to you.
