Lazlo Marton is a bloated liar, fraud and a thief. He built his business on the backs of others while lying through his teeth then cheating those he made big promises to. He also screws the people who do work for him. I would never give this schmuck my business.

Thank you for sharing this information with our city. Will the freight train "limitation" be modified or lifted after or during this project? We "railfans" and past employees realize that this project is well needed and long overdue. The river bridge is already in place and has been ready for almost a century. The improvements to our Route 31 underpass will be well worth this upgrade. I would like to see another east side train passenger lot somehow designed to be near the Kirk road overpass. Possibly using the nearby ballpark parking area. This could be either a temporary station during the construction or a more permanent solution to the challenges facing our commuters in their daily usage of existing parking facilities. This also would help the Route 38 traffic congestion which is a very regular daily issue. Thanks to all involved in this project and especially for sharing this with all of us.

You are welcome Joseph. Metra and Union Pacific both have said the expansion project will not produce additional rail traffic after construction has been completed. To date, we have not heard of any additional parking, although the City did expand its parking deck capacity a few years ago in anticipation of this project. More information is available on our website including how to contact rail officials with questions.

As noted in the above charrette video, Tif2 has a balance of ~$1.2 mil. The City carefully planned Tif3 to include Malone Funeral home and Munchie P's, deeming them nearly "blighted" so that Tif2 would be contiguous with Tif3. This loophole allowed the City a back door avenue to an extension of tif2, which would have otherwise expired. TIF2 might have actually partially fulfilled the false promise of an ultimate payoff for this generation of school kids and taxpayers, courtesy of the last generation. Without the loophole, the $1.2mil would have been returned to the schools, parks, and libraries. Tif3 is a "conservation district" meaning blight was imminent and preventable in 2016. In 2019 two of Geneva's most important historic structures in tif3 were demolished and the vacant properties left unmaintained and surrounded for months by "temporary" chain-link fences. If I recall my high school French, a "charrette" is a chariot. If this is "conservation" then Bomber Harris's "Charrettes of Fire" were not Lancasters but actually a conservation plan for Dresden. Please note: the following is just one man's opinion. However, the City of Geneva's response to my inquiries was: "...the City's position with respect to the Crissey site is to allow the IEPA, which has jurisdiction over this matter, to continue to address the potential contamination of this site. The IEPA is currently involved in this matter. The City does not get involved in matters that involve private property. Accordingly, no direct responses to your previous communications to staff will be forthcoming." BTW IEPA appears to have dropped the ball in this matter over a period of many years. The City intends to invest ~$170K of taxpayer money in this parcel of "private property'. But the City will neither confirm nor deny that the below-quoted email (sent to IEPA and OSFM) is possibly true. The City recently granted a badly tainted special use permit for this piece of "private property" to Dunkin' Donuts. Apparently, the City does dabble occasionally in "matters that involve private property." Please call the mayor and your aldermen and ask if any of the below could be true. If you learn anything please let me know, as they have broken off diplomatic relations with me. "Sent: Thursday, March 28, 2019 12:31:20 PM (UTC-06:00) Central Time (US & Canada) To: SFM.DPCS Subject: Message from SFM website: Underground Storage Tanks Name: Rodney Nelson Email: [email protected] Message: re: Leaking UST Incident No. #990483 206 East State Street, Geneva, Il NO ENGINEERED BARRIER HAS EVER BEEN INSTALLED A quick look at the Google aerial Map of 206 East State Street Geneva Illinois will confirm this. www.google.com/maps/place/206+E+State+St,+Geneva,+IL+60134/@41.8861559,-88.2988165,167m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x880efd1346835b47:0x8096110ba647068c!8m2!3d41.8864261!4d-88.2986799 These facts seem well supported: 1) It took almost a decade between the 1999 "high priority" gasoline spill from 206 E State and the 2008 NFR letter that pertains to that occurrence. 2) The 2008 NFR letter requires an "Engineered Barrier" over the spill site to be installed and maintained in perpetuity (among other conditions). 3) In 2013 the 5 10,000 gallon tanks were removed (another smaller spill was discovered which resulted in another NFR letter for that occurrence). 4) No "engineered barrier" was specifically installed after the 2008 NFR required one, but there was an already existing more or less continuous concrete and asphalt covering over the estimated spill zone. A map of the site with the required engineered barrier was and is still recorded on the deed as required. 5) After the 2013 tank removal, a bureaucratic failure and environmental disaster occurred. 600 tons of gravel was dumped into the tank hole AND NEVER COVERED IN ANY FASHION. Worse, this gravel pit created a giant bowl directly over the contaminated zone that was flushed with every precipitation event. Groundwater after recharges is forced to the surface and onto a public street. Your urgent attention to this serious ongoing situation is requested. Thank you. The letter read by Alderman Killberg was the 2008 "No Further Remediation Letter" that ended the remediation process for the 1999 gas spill from the site that resulted in gasoline reaching the Fox River via the Geneva storm sewer system. That one was discovered when people at the Mill Race Inn smelled gasoline. Another LUST event occurred in 2013, again discovered by the odor of gasoline. A NFR letter also was issued after the resolution of that event also. The NFR letter must be recorded on the title of the property along with the conditions/restrictions on use attached to it and the language that stipulates the conditions under which the NFR letter can be withdrawn. The 2013 report upon which the latest NFR is based contains maps showing where the known soil and water contamination with carcinogens remain on the site. Missing from the several hundred pages in the IEPA file on this site is a report of even a single lead level. This site dispensed leaded gasoline for at least 35 years (1950-1985). No one knows where on the site the original UST's were buried. No one in the City Government at any level seems to want to know what the Bank felt it had to know. This lack of interest does not seem to me to be responsible with either good stewardship of taxpayer money nor with fulfilling their oath to look out for the health and welfare of Genevans. I'm disappointed in the leaf contractor discussion. Kramer's problems last fall are all the more reason to give someone else a chance. I know there was some unusual weather, but I also witnessed Kramer trucks driving by my and my neighbors' houses without stopping to pick up leaves. I'm not convinced their problems can be blamed entirely on the weather. And when I've contacted them, the Geneva staff seemed to be more interested in defending Kramer than Geneva residents. Every year, Kramer skips my house at least once.
