Adventures of Matt and Nat

Adventures of Matt and Nat

We’re Matt & Nat, a part-time, non-remote travel couple based out of Nashville, TN.

We launched in 2021 by visiting all 50 US states & documented our entire journey on our Blog & here on KZread! After spending a full year focused on such a defined goal, in 2022 we continued our travels in the US and abroad. On one of our trips, we came across the #1 New York Times bestseller book “1,000 Places to See Before You Die” and were immediately drawn in and knew that it had to be a part of our adventures. With the book serving as inspiration, in January 2023 we launched a new series where we’ve now set out to see as many of the “1,000 Places To See Before You Die”… before we die!

We hope you’ll join us on the adventure & find some adventures of your own along the way!

Squat toilets are all over here in Indonesia. Luckily now there are a lot of western toilets as well but when we would come 20 years ago it was traumatizing.

Toasted Ravioli, St. Louis style pizza, Gooey Butter Cake, St. Louis Ribs, Frozen Custard (Ted Drews), St. Louis Bread Company (known as Panera outside of St. Louis), and Lion’s Choice Roast Beef. St. Louis has so many great foods to offer and the German and Italian influences resulted in many great restaurants.

Funicular is a popular term in Europe for a train that goes up and down a steep hill. Don't try to use it in Pittsburgh for the train up and down Mt Washington - that's an incline, my friend.

So true! Pretty much anywhere outside the US uses the term "funicular", but in the US, it's an incline or incline railway! Thanks for watching!

Munich resident here. You absolutely did Oktoberfest (we call it Wiesn) the right way. And you really made an effort with your lederhosen and dirndl and not getting the cheap touristy stuff. Nat, you look absolutely gorgeous in your dirndl! Hope you visit Munich again someday!

As a native of northern Virginia, I’d argue that as cool as Alexandria is, it’s more like a city than a small town since it’s right across the river from DC. You should try traveling further west or south into Virginia too sometime. The rest of Virginia is very different from northern Virginia.

You may have went to Philadelphia but you did not go to Pennsylvania. You missed out on New Hope Pennsylvania which is a historical incredibly beautiful town north of Philadelphia on the Delaware River that looks like a town right out of England it's very artsy and tons of restaurants and antiques. You also missed out on Amish Country Lancaster and also the Pocono Mountains and Dorney Park in Hershey Park and so much more tons of waterfalls❣
