Great video. I am originally from the Charlotte area but after my military service my wife and I moved to Daytona Beach and we have lived in the area now for 50 years. We have been talking about moving back to NC now that we are both retired but Daytona has been so good for us I just don't believe it will happen. Thanks for visiting and making this awesome video.

We visit Daytona at least once a year, and we live in central Florida. We love the drink place you all went to, with the yellow umbrellas.

That's awesome! Nat's parents live in Flagler Beach and we have very close friends that live in Ormond! We didn't make it to Aunt Catfish, but we have been to High Tides! Lots of great little restaurants lining the coast down that way! Thanks so much for watching! 😊

I lived in Daytona for a bit back in my 20’s, and when the races were on at the speedway the sound was deafening and my apartment would shake! 🤪😂 PS:congrats on 50k( you’re right there!) and you will be at 100k before you know it!

If you're looking a quiet activity like the lighthouse, I suggest checking out Dunlawton Sugar Mill Gardens. It's a historical site with ruins of the mills, botanical gardens, and a few dinosaurs from the late 1940s when it used to be a theme park. It's always a surprise hit whenever I take people visiting Daytona.

Visited the Daytona Speedway a few years ago and did the track tour too. Recommend doing it. We happen to see Challenger the bald eagle atop a light pole. Our tour guide was great and stopped to let me take a photo. 4 Rivers is an excellent restaurant too, want to go back just for the brisket and bread pudding. 😊

Super well done video, Matt and Nat! Really fun whether you're interested in Daytona car racing or not. And both meals looked delicious! Plus, no trip into the surrounding waters would be complete without those adorable dolphins showing up. They knew humans were watching and put on a porpoise parade just to make everyone happy. Such wonderful creatures! The lighthouse was beautiful, both the setting and the incredible "artwork" of the lanterns. Re the outhouse two-holer, one hole looked smaller; so likely it's set up to accommodate--at separate times--both adults and children. The ranch outhouse we had as kids in the late 1940s included the luxury of toilet seats, though...LOL! God bless!

Okay but listen, Ocean water from Sonic is delicious. Lol 😆 love that sunset view! I just tried oysters on our “O date” over the weekend with Mark! I liked them! Especially the roasted ones, but I tried half-shell too. Great dolphin footage earlier in the video too! 💕

Grew up in Volusia County! Would recommend that you go to Blue Springs in Deland, it is like 30 minutes away from Daytona Beach, best place to see Manatees during fall/winter. 4Rivers is amazing, and Cheerwine on tap is amazing!

Love hanging out with you guys! I get hiccups all the time too! You have to continuously sip water for at least 15 seconds, long enough to interupt the spasm and if you breathe too fast afterwards it'll jump start that spasm again! haha! Good luck!

I live near Tri Cities in East Tn. I love you all, I’m halfway thru your 50 states in a year. I love them. I had no idea on some like water rafting in OKC. I’ve only been to 12 states. But I’m going to change that. Love Daytona been a couple times. It’s awesome. You guys should do The amazing race.

My husband is a big NASCAR fan and we actually did a Daytona race a few years ago while on a Disney vacay!!! We only did the race in Daytona but would love to go back to do more touring and eating! Love love all of your videos!!!

Here's how to spend a day in Daytona... Drive past a Daytona Beach sign. Turn around. Drive somewhere else for the day!

Okay, I didn't realize Daytona Beach was just 4 hours from where I am (Hilton Head area). We usually go to St Augustine. We'll have to check it out and you two need to visit St Augustine, Savannah and Charleston for a video!

Love your videos! I use a lot of your suggestions when I take trips. Thinking of going to the Florida Keys in late December and want to do Biscayne and Dry Tortuga’s National Parks. I know it will be very expensive… is it worth it?

Regarding getting over hiccups: I had a Norwegian friend teach me this trick. Have someone ask you ," YOUR NAME, Do you want to have the hiccups?" three times. Literally ask that exact phrase all three times. At the end of the three times of saying "No", I 99% guarantee you they will be gone. It has only ever not worked for me once. But holding your breath for 30 seconds and the scares, tickles, anytthing to distract you works too. Let me know if it works for you or anyone else! I'd love to know if it worked. It works for me.

Daytona is the worst. Seriously, spend your tourist money elsewhere. Daytona is really small, has only a couple of places to see, terrible restaurants, and unless all you care about is racing, you'll be disappointed. The beaches are wrecked from the hurricanes, construction is happening all over the beach and many of the decent places were destroyed.
