I adore Shakespeare; as for which society is "best," I have created a book set in a realm where it has a reasonable mixture of both our time and that of medieval/renaissance age. In my world of Overon, the cities look much like an olde world village. Much like the images shown here. But they also have some 21st century principles. Women and commoners are treated equally, the land is rich and fertile, the people live clean lives. If only I could make it a reality

the world is still just as messed up now as it was then except our kings changed there names to parliament and presidents and have gotten a hell of a lot better at preventing slaves from knowing there slaves.

Lots of these places are still very stable. The governments should restore even more of them! And this creates jobs in the villages! (Carpenters, wall painters, plasterers, stone masons, and gardeners, historical tour guides, etc.
