    Most of what you said is just ridiculous. Nobody should be discharging their battery so low, @ 10 volts and causing the BMS to disconnect the battery. You are an idiot if you keep doing that. Nobody should keep charging their battery until the BMS disconnects due to over-voltage. You are an idiot if you keep doing that. Just stop with your nonsense ...

    your estimates on doubling and tripling the capacity is off because you are using amp hour capacity - this is wrong! there will be losses in the charge process plus that battery is rated 100Ah BUT AT 12.8 VOLTS!!! Thats 1280watt hours. so if you leave out conversion losses of the 12 - 24v converter - at 24 volts then that battery will only be 53amp/hours - plus change.

  • @freelyroaming
    @freelyroaming2 күн бұрын

    No. I was not using amp hours. I am using watt hours. It's an unambiguous way to measure capacity. Conversion loss is around 8-15% so for a 500wh capacity power station, even at 15% loss, you are still tripling the capacity from 500wh to more than 1500wh.

    You almost never face issue when one battery is full while another significantly lower when connect batteries in parallel. Higher charge state => higher voltage => lesser voltage difference between charger and battery => lesser current .... and vice-versa. Meaning once one battery getting higher charge state than other battery - its charge current will shorten while other battery charge current increase. Absolutely same situation with discharge. The only note could be taken into account - you cannot use batteries which have significantly different voltage at same charge state: for example we have 2 batteries at 50% charge state but one is 3.30 while another 3.25. That means battery system slowly become unbalanced because higher voltage battery will charge lower voltage battery until voltage equalization. PS: Feel free to connect batteries in parallel if you want to (for example for redundancy/safety purpose). Even different capacities can be connected together - it will work, but not expect ideal result - anyway it will sacrifice some energy for equalization. PPS: have 2 batteries with 100A BMS in parallel don't allow you to power 200A device - current will be split between batteries uneven (even batteries very similar - they not 100% exact and their use conditions like wires length, heating/cooling not the same while temperature affect internal resistance)

    At the beginning of this film, don't give any ideas... one day there will be three-story hotel auto caravans... hey, maybe that's a good idea! I'm joking, of course, but you never know if it will be a feasible idea or not. In fact, now that I think about it, maybe it is. And Spanish may be slightly different both in syntax(?) and in pronunciation, which is sometimes very different, so this is a good bet on a good digital dictionary app. But in essence I am repeating what you have already implied. Especially when it comes to personal essential medication. When I went on my honeymoon by plane to Brazil, after 7 or 8 hours in a closed environment, they fumigated the interior of the plane with the passengers still there after having warned them and I think it was to avoid the importation of mosquitoes. It's funny that through a simple and calm conversation you can memorize much better than reading a list of advice.

    Looks like a cool device but The flow rate makes me a little suspicious. I don't understand how these all in one units can have such a high flow rate when you have other reverse osmosis filters that can do maybe 2 gallons an hour. What's going on here why is there such a big difference in the flow rates between RO filters? In my RV I have an RO filter that I hook up to surflo pump. The oil filter is rated for only maybe 2 gallons per hour. It takes a while but it's nice to have clean water

  • @freelyroaming
    @freelyroaming15 күн бұрын

    If your shurflo pump is like mine, then it can't create that much pressure for higher flow rate (~60psi). If it did you risk blowing out plumbing fittings. These units with it's own dedicated built in pump can be designed to push a much higher PSI.

    It's me again. I have the setup mocked up using the components that you did and the Starlink is not receiving power. Troubleshooting. The Yaosheng seems to have a fair number of DOA failures, per the Amazon reviews. I am checking for alternatives. I will hook up the Starlink router hooked to 110 and see if I have connectivity and of course will check out my two RJ45 jacks. I ran the Starlink cable underneath the RV in protective loom prior to putting the jack on. It connects to a Neutrik waterproof jack installed on the back bumper of the RV. I then attached a waterproof Neutrik cable carrier on the end of the cable going to the dish.

    First off, great video and detailed explanations. Late to the party but I'll comment any way. The power draw in the first 5 minutes is significant but what I would be mostly interested in the the power reduction after the dish is lock on. I only assume the power consumption is significantly lower after the dish is locked on and happy? Does anyone have an answer to that? If it is still 18% reduction (I think that was the number from worst to best case) then it might be worth the investment.

  • @freelyroaming
    @freelyroaming18 күн бұрын

    The dish is never locked on for more than 4 minutes at a time. The power consumption during normal use varies based on activity type and level. The power savings will probably not be as high as 18% because that is considering no idle time. 18% is an exaggerated figure and I would say best case scenario as it shows the efficiency difference between the 2 setups.

    Hello, I've seen a few of your awesome videos and am now hoping to get some advice. I'm new to the battery / car camping scene. I plan to keep an Amazon LiFePO4 battery (maybe 2) in my car as a power source for a Dometic fridge, lights, laptop, etc. so I can live in my car on the weekends. I'm still shopping / researching so I wonder if Group Type matters, mixing battery / inverter brands or things like that matter? I want to charge the batteries at work then bring it to my car and shelf in the cabin with me. So far it sounds like I'd need the battery, and an inverter. And I think I can just plug a power strip into the inverter? Do you see any issues or have any advice for this type of use?
