Thanks man 3D anatomy for artists is awesome but I just got the mod😅
You mention in passing that there are other apps that in some ways surpass Realistic for watercolours - what apps were you thinking of?
I think where Realistic Paint falls short with watercolours is simulated wet canvas/paper. As great as the results are, the watercolour brushes don't really feel like watercolours, where as the oil brushes feel a lot more authentic in how they behave. I would actually say the watercolours in Realistic Paint are closer to gouache paints. I've always found Corel Painter to have pretty good traditional watercolour functions, however it's always been very expensive software. I've also played around with Fresco from Adobe and even though I don't like the company it's hard to say anything bad about Frescos watercolour brushes. Rebelle is also another option, but again a bit on the pricer side. Haven't really used Artrage much, so not as familiar with their watercolours. That's just my experience though.
How do i add hair
Hello! If you tap the head of the model an icon should appear that says 'Head Prop' (in the bottom right corner). That will give you hair, hat and glasses options. Let me know if that helps!

Which would you recommend more between this and the head model studio app?
I was thinking about getting handy for the head studies, but the awkward lighting features you talk about are making me have second thoughts. I am at first going to just use one light source. Would you still recommend it? It's only three dollars U.S. and that is cheap. So, it sounds pretty good.
Personally, I don't think it's the best app for head models, but if cost is an issue it's got enough decent enough quality head models to practice with. For hands it's great however. The lighting features are not the best or the most intuitive, but you do get the hang of it, awkward as it is. If you're looking for another head model app, I just released another video review on another app called 'Head Study'. It's a little pricier than Handy Art Tool, but the quality of the head sculpts are very good.
This is only for the premium version which is 9 U.S. dollars a year.
It use to be available for outright purchase years ago, it was pretty expensive at the time (about $30 I believe). I was unaware they switched to subscription only.
Hi, where's the actual lesson video?
Hello there, thank you for pointing out the links were missing. The classes are available on Gumroad for outright purchase, or on Skillshare to stream. There's a Skillshare free trial link to use if you wish. Only thing I would suggest is if you sign up through the free Skillshare trial to cancel before it expires (2 weeks I think). They sometimes charge people automatically for full subscription the moment the trail ends.
can he be used in a 3D printer
I don't believe the files can be exported for 3D print.
So are clothes or available on the paid version? Btw amazing vid! This rlly helped me
@@LifeOfSlice1 There are a few items of clothing in the app but not that many unfortunately. Glad the video helped, check out some other app reviews of mine if you wish! Lots of posing apps to choose from.
Misleading title. I clicked on it because I thought there would be multiple apps covered, but it's only one.
thanks you bro❤
No problem!
Thank you for your review. I only stumbled upon the app and wondering if worth the subscription fee. Your review was clear and concise. Thanks again.
Glad the review helps you out! There's been some updates since this video including the addition of facial expression. So still worth the money in my mind. :)
@@JWLearning awesome thanks again. Be purchasing the life-time plan now.
@@davemokaraka1930 Best of luck with it! I'm sure it will come in handy.
Is this a one time payment app
Yes it is, usually gets updates every 6-12 months also, just had a new update recently actually.
New update just came with Facial Expressions also.
Does it work on OSX? (14.)
I don't think it does unfortunately.
How does it compare to Magicposer? I am trying to decide between the two
Both have unique features that makes them really hard to compare. Pose It has the advantage with its lighting conditions, but Magic Poser has the advantage with its realistic figures. Pose It is a little more difficult to pose with, but Magic Poser as some bugs when puppeteering its model. If figure drawing is the more important aspect for you then I would probably look to Magic Poser because of the realistic figures. PoseIt is great for a basic pose reference and excellent for lighting, but comes up short on anatomy, so it's probably a more useful tool for more advanced artists. If you haven't seen it, I have a review of Magic Poser also on my channel. Let me know if that helps!
Poseit is amazing!❤
I agree! One of the best.
About the creation of the manekin, you CAN IMPORT it after you save it. There’s a button to do that. Also for the crash, it does happens in my ipad 9 but not on ipad pro m1. Perhaps this is related to RAM, since Clip Studio Paint tends to crash when you are having some 3D models (like diorama asset from clip studio asset) as entry level iPad has low RAM.
Hi there! Which button is it? If there's an import to scene icon the developers have hidden it. I don't know why it says the models can only be used in the 'workshop' mode if that's the case. I'm using a 2021 iPad Pro, the last one before the M1 chips, so it's clearly an issue for anything before the M1's.
@@JWLearning From Home screen, click the manekin human button above the mask (below the lightbulb), then there'd be a gold colored icon, click it. Now in manekin creation mode, click the manekin button on the top left side, you can see there's all default manekin available in this app from Moku which is wood to werewolf to the right. Above Moku there's a manekin with eyedrop, ON THE RIGHT OF THAT ICON, there's a FOLDER icon you click it and you can save manequine or load saved manekin. Assuming you have created a custom manekin, for example I combine the female default manekin and anime manekin for certain part like head and resize it. Then I want to model it as reference for my drawing. I go back to home screen after the custom manekin is saved by clicking the exit button on top right. You can click on your default male figure in front of you, then click manekin button on the left side, there'd be 6 button comes up, click the one BESIDE THE PLUS button. There'd be a list of 8 default manekin. On top of Adam there's 2 icon, click the STAR icon, now you will see a SAVED CUSTOM Manekin. Click on one of them. Here you go.
@@lowegule135 Great, will check it out.
amazing video I drop you maile and sms
❤️❤️❤️❤️
As a complete beginner to human heads I find the app gives no instructions so I have no idea what I’m doing! So half the time I don’t really know what I’m supposed to be drawing really
What's giving you the most problem?
It's a model. You draw the model...Or whatever piece of it you want to focus on.
Добрый день! Возможно ли при создании и экспорте изображений выбирать разрешение DPI?
Hello! I used google translate so hopefully I understood the question. You can change the DPI by selecting the 'create custom' option when you create a new document. When you export the image it should save as the DPI you set. Maximum file size is 5000 x 5000 pixels, so you will have to use upscaling software if you want something bigger. Let me know if that helps!
@@JWLearning Thank you very much!! You have helped me a lot! ☺️❤️
@@irbisfierysnow8376 You're welcome!
Hello, this looks cool, I like the marble style characters
The classes are good for comic and fantasy artists!
Loving your figure drawing course which I bought on Gumroad! Finally a course thats basic enough, yet complete enough aswell! Already seeing a lot of progress in just a few hours of practice, which I could not get to on my own (even using youtube courses). Thanks a lot!
Hi there! Thank you for purchasing the class, I'm glad to hear you've made significant improvement in such a short period of time. The course was designed to be as accessible to newcomers as possible, cutting straight to the chase instead of talking needlessly about things like art history or philosophy (important but different topics IMO). Let me know how you go as you make your way through the course! Feel free to show images of your progress as well, I'm on instagram and twitter. :)
Heyyy! That good ol'voice! I have your gumroad course 🤣
Thanks for your purchase! Was the course helpful?
@@JWLearning YES... very. You're great at explaining the mental process behind the drawing. From Balancing gesture and construction to observation skills and simplifying.
@@alexmccaleb2152 Glad you found value in the lessons! Thank you for the kind words. :)
Hey JW, I was wondering would your beginner full course be a good starting point for someone who wants to do semi realistic and anime character designs?
Hello there! Thanks for your inquiry. The course isn't necessarily designed with anime or cartoons in mind, however all the principles explained throughout the course are more or less what you would learn from doing anime or comic book studies, just for more realistic illustration. The main difference being that anime focuses a bit more on simplfied shapes, exaggerated proportions and more line work. The basic principles of drawing anime figures however is not really that much different from more realistic figures. The real advantage of doing a more realistic figure drawing course is that you develop a much broader understanding of how to draw the body, and if you know someone who's looking at drawing for a career having that extra knowledge will be look on favourably by potential employers. So I would say this course is friendly for many styles of figure drawing, not just realistic figures. Let me know if that answers your questions! :)
@@JWLearning yes this answers my question, oh one last question though. How long should someone spend on each topic before moving onto the next? I’ll be starting with gesture but wanted to know how long I should spend on trying to master that or should I just get the broad idea then move on?
@@JWLearning ok last last question lol but reagarding the best way to learn from the videos? Like should i draw along with everything you draw or is there a better way you think a beginner should get the most out of this course to ensure their understanding?
@@lunarex2731 Hi again, I'll answer both questions here. As for how long you should stay on a class before moving on, what I would suggest doing is familiarising yourself with the ideas and concepts presented in each lesson first before moving onto the next. It's not super important that you draw perfectly, its more important that you're understanding what the concepts and ideas are. If you can start to explain the ideas and concepts to another person, that's a good sign you've got it. The actually execution of the drawings, how realistic or proportionally correct they are, that comes down more to time and practice. Consider the first couple of lessons an introduction to understanding your 'artistic toolbox'. As for whether you should draw along, most lessons are broken up into three parts - lecture, demonstrations and student exercise. The student exercise is actually broken up into two parts - your attempt at the assignment first, followed by my attempt at the same assignment. The reason I do the assignment as well is to hopefully help you figure out where you may have gone wrong. So I would say write down the lecture notes, watch along with the demonstrations, draw the class exercise no matter how good or bad it turns out, then draw along with my attempt at the class exercise. Let me know if that helps! :)

Your video descriptions need HASHTAGS too. Like #art. You can put the hashtags right underneath the full paragraph. #artinstruction #drawing
So, just in the description?
@@JWLearning Yup. Just as you have a description of the video, you add hashtags right after. eg. "This video is about fish and chips I ate at a new swank pub." #fish #chips #restaurant #pub.
