    Great tip! Thanks. And how about applying this to hundreds of clips? What is the fast workflow for this? Or should I go through every clip manually like that?! EDIT: found the answer myself... select all clips and then apply the LUT.

  • @markthecre8tor
    @markthecre8tor6 күн бұрын

    Thanks so much for the feedback, If you have hundreds of clips the best way to do this would be using the Custom LUT effect in FCP, the only issue I have found is that the effect only works with.cube files and the built-in conversion LUT don't show up as an option. I am still trying to find a neutral conversation LUT from Sony in cube format that we can use but so far no luck.

    @@sachinnair3820 thanks so much for the kind words and feedback. Even though I have not used it much for photography I can see it will do a great job in that area, for video I think it is due for a refresh or at least a cost reduction due to its age. With that being said I have to wonder if newer tech and faster quieter motors would add more due to the narrow depth of field for this type of lens. With that being said macro for photos or video is really fun. If you can catch it on sale the purchase does not sting as much as paying full price.

    Hello Mark. I have now came back and watched for the 4th time. Thanks for the great instructions. If I have saved to memory 1 (which registered to M1 settings) How can I go back and undue that saved setting or over wright it, if I want to change it. Hope that made sense. I went into manual White Balance and wanted to save the new white balance and it says I cannot? Thanks

  • @markthecre8tor
    @markthecre8tor2 ай бұрын

    That is a great question, and thank you for the kind words and feedback. I should have called this out in the video, but the fix or process to update the settings in the MR buttons is fairly simple. Let me explain. Step 1 Go into the Menu and for example CHANGE the White Balance from 5600K to 5000k (note: it can be anything IE Focus area, Steady shot, audio levels etc. Step 2 From the Menu Select - Shooting - (4) Shooting Mode - Camera Set Memory - Press Enter The next screen with Show Memory 1, 2 and 3 across the top. Select the number of the memory slot you want to update from 1, 2 or 3 using the joystick or jog wheel, and then press enter. (note: make sure that you select the correct MR button on this step or you might save it to the wrong MR button) It will say Registered. Now when you press the mode button and select the updated MR button it will reflect what you changed. I hope this helped, but I might create a video on how to do this as well. Thanks again for the feedback

    @@markthecre8tor I tried it and it worked perfectly thanks. Years ago I was in the video business. You put your S-VHS in the camera, focused, did a white balance and you pressed record. For me learning this FX3 is like learning to swim by being thrown over Niagara Falls LOL! It is so helpful to be able to ask someone like you who knows. Manuals seem to always tell me everything but what I want to know. Is there anyway I can have a monitor plugged into the camera and still have the camera monitor stay on? It always turns my camera monitor panel off, when I use an external monitor. Thanks

    @@StarAccount-km1rt Sorry for the delay my friend, I have been on-site with work the last few days and just getting a chance to respond. To allow the flippy screen on the FX3 to stay one when you plug in a external monitor Press the Menu button --> Go down to Setup --> select #11 External Output --> HDMI Info Display ---> Select OFF. This should allow you to use both screens at the same time. If you turn it off it will kill the flippy screen again.

    Which setting would you use for sports?

  • @markthecre8tor
    @markthecre8tor2 ай бұрын

    Thx for reaching out, for sports I would first consider if you have any plans to slow the footage down. Fast moving sports 120fps and 60fps all day. But remember you will lose motion blur if you view it in real time so it won't look right. 60fps gives you a little motion blur so I would start there and look at the footage on a 24p time line. If there is no reason to slow the footage down to emphasize a move or action go with 24p.

    Hello Asifali, First thanks for checking out the video. You can create a time-lapse with the FX3 without using the S&Q mode it's just a lot more steps. The FX3 has an intervalometer built into the camera. To access it Select the Mode Button - Select a camera option IE Manual - Press Enter. Press the Menu Button - Select Shooting - Drive Mode - Interval Function. Everything you need to tell the camera to perform a timelapse is in there. This would allow you to do a long exposure timelapse. If you think a video showing this would be helpful I can try and add one to the queue and create one for you on the channel.
