    Stopped vid to call out Bone Miser and Barren Moor were likely in the included list of cards because they mill your deck and generate a large amount of black mana with Necrobloom out. Pay B to cycle Moor, Miser trigger adding BB, dredge 2 return Moor to hand, and loop. Doesn’t seem you caught this interaction when talking about why you removed them.

    why does massacre girl exactly go well with this commander? i mean, it just deals 1 damage and wither wouln't let deathtouch work so what's the point, it just would work if you target a 1 resistance creature just to draw a single card, it looks useless to me.

  • @whitelawrencea
    @whitelawrenceaКүн бұрын

    Deathtouch and Wither can both work I'm pretty sure. In both cases damage is still applied, so the creature will be destroyed by deathtouch. But in the case you're targeting an indestructible creature, the deathtouch will fail to destroy it but the damage will still be applied in -1/-1 counters. And if enough of the -1/-1 counters are applied over time, you can still kill the indestructible creatures this way. Since Massacre girl isn't doing wither necessarily, I'm not sure why she is here except maybe to kill a bunch of 1/1 tokens at once.

    I made a version of this deck that is designed to swap backgrounds from command zone and 99. One is Street Urchin, the other is Guild Artisan. Heavy treasure synergies fill the deck, as well as lots of cards that make it safer for Erinis to swing. Swapping from SU to GA in the command zone turns this deck from a grindy control deck into an aggro voltron deck, without a single other change to the list.

    thanks you so much for the input!! i feel like my big problem with this deck (and why there were so many bad cards in it) was 1. i used EDHRec a little too much 2. i didn't know what power level i wanted this deck to be at. this should not be a deck i'm bringing to casual tables, this should be a deck i bring to play with other higher power players. i'm now really thinking of upping the power level significantly. put in fetches, shocks, + all the cards you recommended. i am satisfied with this deck review!

    My favourite land in my Erinis Street Urchin deck is Roadside Reliquary. The background covers 1/2 of the requirement to draw two. With cards like the Tireless sisters and Toggo, fodder is easy to come by. Another card to consider is Kodama of the East Tree for its potential to combo with landfall token producers and a bounceland. A cheeky card is Arcbond. It's a strictly worse Chandra's Ignition. With strategy, consider the possibility of winning through commander damage. Cards like Kessig Wolf Run, Blackblade Reforged, and Tarrian's Soulcleaver can help.

    There are a few CEDH lists going around. Erinis just wins with Dockside + Sabertooth. Also Stormkiln + Haze of Rage / Chain of Acid + Indestructible/ Tamiyo's Safekeeping. Can also win with Peregrine Took + Nuka Cola. A sacrificed Protean Hulk can grab Dockside + Sabertooth, or Torch Courier + Goblin Engineer (putting Nuka Cola in yard) + Peregrine Took This commander is incredibly game warping in casual, and I've most casual groups will deny playing against it.

    Thank you so much for the deck review as always. First off, I don't know if you realized this or not, because I didn't hear you mention it, but with Erinis having deathtouch, and Street Urchin making Erinis deal the damage because of how it's worded, meaning that the single ping of damage from Street Urchin has deathtouch, thus killing whatever it targets. That leads into my decision to not include Blasphemous Act, or really any sweepers at all, because they felt too redundant to what was going on in the command zone. All of your MH3 suggestions make sense, this deck hadn't been updated for MH3 yet, so all that makes perfect sense to me. Now, onto play pattern and why I didn't include mana dorks in this list. My intent is to play T1 tap land/or fetch land (as I have a chunk of them, and they are important for my mana coverage), T2 Street Urchin, T3 one of my engine cards (Tireless Tracker/Veronica/Toggo), T4 Erinis with activations up. That is how I ended up laying out the deck because a lot of the engines are at 3 mana, and I find that I want to play the creature part of my commander where I am already set up to activate them.This decks playpatterns don't really change with acceleration of 1 mana, except me not using my mana well. Even if I get Erinis out on turn 2, their not really doing what the crux of the deck is until I have an engine to get them artifacts/creatures and Street urchin out. Now, the question is if each of those engines are good enough, and your assessments of them were very helpful. Also, specifically on Raid. The intention is to always be attacking with Erinis when possible, because I always want to be returning a land to the battlefield. I have a lot of lands with interesting activated abilities, and I am playing close to the maximimum number of artifact lands to sac off and loop with Erinis. Farid is also intended as a value engine with this looping of artifact lands, so I don't know if that changes your outlook on that card in this deck. Once again, I super appreciate your feedback. Even when I disagree with you, you get me to think about why I disagree with you, and that is just as useful as the suggestions themselves. Keep up the amazing work

    If you want to up the power level without including infinite combos there are 3 things: 1. increase the speed: The Dork package, the usual rocks, Goblin Anarchomancer and Orcish Lumberjack up the chances of hitting the commander 1 turn earlier or same turn + mana up for a sac. They are all also sac fodder for commander in a pinch. Even if you get board wiped early, the extra mana and therefore extra spells you will be able to cast really pays for itself 2. streamline the strategy: You're currently splitting between landfall and artifacts. If you commit to either one of them, you can create higher synergy and overall a more consistent deck 3. develop more threats to close out the game depending on the chosen strategy: The deck is great at controlling and keep the opponents threats off the table but it lacks in the amount of cards that threaten life totals

    22:00 if the group has played just a couple of games vs this commander he will get targeted a lot for a good reason. Keep in mind that the commander has deathtouch and the Background grants the ability to the commander which means anything he pings dies due to deathtouch. People don't want to play their big/value creatures into an Erinis. Also, when the commander is dead the deck immediately loses the main engine for sacrifice and land recursion. Would 100% include a Lotus Field here, the synergy in a land slot is too good. One with Nature and Nature's Will are highly efficient ramp and mana cheating, especially for a commander that can easily ensure you can connect to a player.

    16:44 On the Agrus Kos vs Radiant Performer one, Agrus Kos can copy the backup and the target ability, with the Radiant Performer you're limited to maybe only the target ability and this if you're not playing agaisn't another counter deck like Hamza, Okinec Ahau or Ezuri, on these cases doubling the opponent counters can end your game.

    Calming verse is the other half of that combo. If all permanents are enchantments it prevents someone from destroying all enchantments or exiling all of them with Farwell. So it helps protect your board state since you will be playing mostly enchantments. With calming verse you tap out for the turn to destroy all permanents including lands your opponents control. Essentially winning you the game. Calming verse could be considered a dead draw but in bant there's so many ways to tutor for either card and with the draw power of bant it won't be long until you get the 2nd piece to the combo.

    Thank you for the deck review First, on fetch lands. I know I could play more of the basic fetches (Fabled Passage and the like) but I am playing all the fancy fetches that I think should be legal in a commander deck. In my personal opinion if they don't let me play hybrid cards that are half off color, I think half off color fetches should also be color identity breaks as well, especially as the card frame depict them as with the off colors as part of the frame. I know that by the rules that is not the case, but I personally think how they are treated should be different, and I am following that ethos when I am building my decks. I have done a little bit of testing with this deck so far, and so far I can get Battle's flipped pretty well, especially with the politicking of making a deal with someone where they get the demonstrated back side of the battle (because you cast the back side of battles from exile, thus you can trigger the demonstrate) if they let me beat up the battle. That little extra incentive does help a fair bit. I tried to focus my interaction in on the adventure cards that interact (ie. Stomp on Bonecrusher Giant, Petty Theft on Brazen Borrowers) but I do think that at this stage I might need to add some stronger interaction cards than can be found as adventures. Savvy Trader I look at more as filling the E-Witness slot in a way that also synergies with my commander more than E-Witness because it sets up the thing I am Witnessing to be demonstrated, than as a ramp card. I am willing to pay an extra mana to have my E-Wit Synergies with my strategy and randomly reduce mana, so that's the angle I look at that card from, and have found it to be worth it. Party Thrasher was a card that I looked at when it was spoiled but ultimately I deemed that I didn't want it in the deck, because of how little it hits in the deck, and if I really needed that effect, I had a copy in the deck off of Battle of Segovia. Party Thrasher only affects non-creature cards in exile, and 90% of the stuff I want to play from exile are the creature halves of my adventure cards. This deck doesn't actually have that much impulsive draw, and maybe you press for Party Thrasher if you want more of that, but I am not as sure about it in that regard. This rendition of the deck though, I view as getting it's card advantage from the future sight effects more than the impulsive draw effects. I do think the idea of moving to the spell based ramp from the talismans is interesting, and something I will play around with. Finally, I if I do end up cutting a future sight effect, it's going to be Reality Chip. I know in aggregate, it's the cheapest, but because it's a creature and not an enchantment, it ends up being the one that gets interacted with and disrupted the most often. Overall, really appreciate all the insights you brought, and this deck is definitely feeling like it's going to be getting to the stage where it's only going to get small adjustments each set soon, which is about as complete as a deck I make gets. As always I appreciate the work you put in to these videos.
