I was 19 when this came out and bought it at the record co I worked at. They played a few on fM radio then but I bought it. And when the mind wobbled as a young mans often does Lover Boy gave you some not so nice ideas in the city. And we all knew guys like that. I think there was a book, "How to pick up chicks and score w/girls" or something like that. In a way that is what the song is about. Ahem, "He used to have a problem but he got it fixed..." Yeah. Captured a piece in time.

Hope this isn't taken as an @$$hole comment, but you may want to consider starting the music many minutes earlier. Your insights are great, but I fear you have lost viewers long before they hear a note. Maybe add comments part way in then go forward or go back to make a point...Don't mean to be a jerkweed with this. Your comments are informative...and they should reach more than 1.7k people (IMHO)

I can't believe you hadn't heard these tracks before, or that you so badly underestimated ABBA as recording artists....They were geniuses, as were their super-talented session musicians...Together they produced masterpieces. You need to listen through headphones to hear everything going on in the track - you will miss a lot otherwise....

Thumbs UP for this one...those strings in this record. I am a strings man. LOL Music Arrangers who write out those strings and horn arrangements, in songs that go off to become BIG hits. NEVER get their recognition.

To be dismissive of the rest of the group is highly unfair. Russell Thompkins Jr was a rare talent, as you've stated, but he definitely couldn't do it by himself.

Gordon, thank you for your excellent reaction video of “Light of Day”. I only wish I’d come across yours earlier when you first shared it. Sorry for being late to the party but I’ve heard and seen other reaction videos of this which were also good but I really appreciate the detail you shared here. Hey you even got Graham Goble to join in which is fantastic! I so admire Graeham as being a driving force behind the vocal arrangements of so many of their great recordings. Just like Maurice Gibb of The Bee Gees, Graeham always could be counted on to top of the high end stack of the vocal harmonies. With Beeb and Glen it was so magical. Ever since Sleeper Catcher came out it remains my favorite albums of all times and Light of Day my favorite song as well. In fact, several years ago I had stumbled on Beeb Birtles email address somehow so I wrote him about the following story. Back in my college days I worked as a disc jockey to earn money for school and always ended my late night sessions with Light of Day after the long nights of crazy driving beats of disco rhythms of that day. It was such a welcome reprieve and a perfect end to the night. Very well received by all I might add. As you mentioned LRB had the knack of throwing in some very positive lyrics in some of their material. If you haven’t done a reaction to a couple of songs off of The Last Romance album that Beeb and Graham put out sometime after Sleeper Catcher I’d highly recommend considering He Gives Us All His Love , and Into My Life. Also you can hear Graham’s lead vocals on the song Whales off that album. It was a great album that didn’t get the recognition it deserved. I would love to hear from Graeham or Beeb as to who did most of the string, keyboards and flutes on Light of Day. So much to listen to on that song I never tire of it and always picks me up whenever I hear it. And I can’t help but chime in with some of the harmonies every time I play it. Thanks Gordon for sharing this amazing music and thanks to Beeb, Graeham and Glen for the gifts they shared to the world of timeless music!

I also share a lot of the the same thoughts and feelings about Traces. Im a couple years younger than you are. But I feel such melancholy when i hear this song, and always have. Now at 64 years old, it saddens me to think of all the years in between, all that was lost, my father, mother, sister, aunts, uncles, etc., all gone.
