So left lumbar curve is spine on the left and concave on right?
How long after dinner exercise should do?
That‘s a great question! They are actually wonderful poses that will help with digestion but I wouldn’t recommend doing any of these straight after a heavy meal! Maybe leave an hour or so… if it’s a lighter meal it doesn’t really matter!
I read an article stated that even though it may reduce the thoracolumbar curve but it may exaggerate the thoracic curve So maybe need modification to do it on both side
Thanks for sharing. If my major S curve is left thoracolumbar, can I do 30seconds on left and then 15seconds on right side??
Thank you for this interview, Christine and Terra! Lots of interesting and very much needed information.
If my major S curve is on the left thoracolumbar, not lumbar, can I still apply this method?
I think maybe the side plank can be effective for those who know well about their body condition and able to do it properly on both sides differently adjusting according to the curve and rotation
How if I have right thoracic curve but major convex curve is left thoracolumbar ? Not left lumber but left thoracolumbar
Is there an easy way to determine which side of the muscle is stronger? Because whether it's concave or convex side, we don't know exactly which one is stronger. Maybe stronger in convex that's why pulling the spine to that side. Maybe stronger in concave that's why more tight and pulling to the center point on concave side so become curved inwardly
Very good but I like kinesiology or some say touch for health 😮
Massage can be a great way to release muscle tension with scoliosis which will definitely help you sleep better too! It‘s absolutely about finding what works for you as an individual
Hey dear, I think there is unrealized potential in your KZread channel. I want to provide you some tips and techniques to help you get it unlocked. Could we have a discussion?
Where did you get your shirt?
Which side are you leaning on whenyou do the side plank? The side that is not with scoliosis?
Do you meet people at 168th St. and Ft. Washington Ave--That part of Columbia Medical Center?

All of the Move with Scoliosis sessions are online and Terra is joining us for a workshop on the 18th July so yes, both of us do online sessions :-)

Hello - so the back of the C is towards my left. The top of the C is my right shoulder. I don’t feel anything when I lay on my left. I think I’m confused
I have the scoliosis. I do Yoga , Pilates on mat and weight training. Actually, all of them are good for scoliosis but I add on DNS and knowledge of Anatomy trains to train my body via all exercise I do. And now, my body is better much after a few year. Hope your all will find your exercise to get better soon. Namaste
So it means if i have a major thoracic curve with S curve, im supposed to sleep on my left? Sorry im a bit confused
Right thoracic? Yes sleep on the left unless you also have a significant lumbar curve!

Such a valuable interview! Thank you
I had the wonderful opportunity to attend one of Dr. Fishman's Yoga for Back Pain weekend workshops at Yogaville Ashram in VA several years ago. I was experiencing lower back pain which seemed to involve the nerves. I learned so much, and actually found out my diagnosis was Sacroiliac Joint Derangement. He gave me several stretches to help resolve my issue. Very thankful and have used his principles in my teaching. Thank you for sharing this! My husband has a curvature so I am revisiting in hopes of helping him determine which side to do his poses on. Have a great day!
I am doing yoga but tingling of back pain still suffering while bending and poor sleep. Please help in this regards
Have you had the tingling investigated by a physiotherapist?
My problem is, my arms go to sleep like numbness and can’t sleep. Constantly getting up to walk until my hands feel normal. Loosing a lot of sleep lately. Any suggestions 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Where can I see braces?
Just Google Rigo-Cheneau type brace
Thank you for this! I’m going to start it today! I had fusion surgery when I was 13, I’m currently 33 and my curve came back. 😢
Let me know how you get on!
Thanks for all the great videos. You have helped me so much ❤
You are so welcome!
Thank you!❤
You're welcome 😊
These comments on sleeping positions are repeated by many physiotherapists across the internet. We are not blocks of stone at night. I believe many of us move and change positions. We get warm, cold, fidgety. So this, in my opinion, is moot. I need practical sustainable solutions which are hard to find. I visited many physiotherapists over a decade. If you talk to 2 physiotherapists you will get 7 opinions! But nonetheless thank you for your efforts. In the end, I need to understand my body and make the corresponding adjustments by being given the tools to do that. One size does not fit all, and one on ones have not even come close to dealing with the problem. In my opinion, these solutions deal with the symptoms, not the problem.
Hi Jake, thank you for your comment! I agree with you and I also move around at night. I find it helpful to just get to sleep in a more supported position and knowing that my muscles can release even if it's just for a little while. I also get your frustration with getting different opinions! One of the best pieces of advice I ever got was "you need to take resposibility for your back". As you say not one size fits all and I hope this comes across in my videos! Wishing you all the best, Christine
I have S-curve scoliosis, so lots of tension and pain in my back. Your practices are very helpful for me. Thank you ❤
You're so welcome!
Thanks doctor love you 💜️
not a doctor but thank you nevertheless :-)
Bro ur a lifesaver. Its currently 2AM and I am in so much pain. This helped sm 😖🙏‼️
Glad it was helpful and hope you managed to sleep well for the rest of the night!
Sorry i had a question... i had a surgery when i was 6 and i have two platins in my spine in order to keep the curve from getting worse. Is it possible for me to make my spine completely straight or make it having a little degree of curve with exercise and bracing ? I'm 15 now
Hi, I'm not quite familiar with the type of surgery you had. Has your doctor guided you in any way? Exercise and bracing can certainly help to improve it. Probably not completely straight if it's structural scoliosis but I don't know about your specific case of course. Lots of love!
First time working with you-I‘m glad you tube pushed your channel this morning😊. I‘ve now saved your morning and evening routines to my just created scoliosis program. Looking forward to what else you recommend in response to your quiz, which I just now took. I‘m glad I found you😊
Welcome! Hope you find the responses useful! Any questions feel free to reach out.
Hello Christine.....Thank you for this video. I do have a problem with pain lying down. I have a right thoracic curve and a S curve also, herniated discs L4 and L5. Some nights are ok as I have been doing your videos daily. I thought that I saw one of your videos on herniated discs, I maybe mistaken......Thank you, Patricia
I don’t think I‘ve done one on herniated discs but I‘ll put it on the list!
