    Because people don't want to pay 50k for a 10k bike that is overweight, underpowered and overpriced.

    My 20 year old daughter got her motorcycle endorsement 2 years ago. She now commutes to college on her CB300r. She grew up skiing racing and mountain biking here in Utah, so motorcycling was an evolutionary step. In a recent interview, Zack Court's father spoke about how he wanted Zack to first experience crashing on a bicycle before riding a motorcycle to get a better feel for the risk involved. I definitely agree with that approach to parenting!

    As mentioned by an other viewer, this video only applies to North America and most parts of Europe. In the rest of the world LOTS (if not all) of young people ride motorcycles all the time. So in the rest of the world this young generation is NOT afraid of motorcycles, is willing to spend a lot of their money on motorcycles, and probably also still spend a LOT of their time behind telephone and computer screens. In other words: you are right but only for North American and European youth.

    I'd have to agree with everything you've said unfortunately. I basically traded my mountain bike to a friend for my first motorbike at 18, the next 2 bikes I got cost me $400 Canadian in the late 80's. Those same bikes are $1500+. Used motorcycles have really gone up over the last few years, it's not nearly as cheap to get started now

    Congratulations on the new addition to your alls family!!! And great points in the video. I'm a millennial from 88, even though my personality is more of a Gen x so I'm told. I ride bikes to escape and relax and adventure. The world is depressing, the news, social media, etc. Biking is an escape from all the garbage on this world, it truly is wind therapy.

    I can attest to this my own adult son has anxiety and he's had it since he was little and we've done a lot of things to over time to expose him to get him through the anxiety. More recently we got him into dirt bike riding and it's actually helped him overcome fears. He is getting good at it and actually wants to do it more. The younger generations are definitely full of fear. My sons situation is due to ADD and low functioning prefrontal cortex which we confirmed at the Amen clinics. So it's different for us but not hopeless. Most gen z it's cellphones and overall screentime get that out of your life especially anti-social media

    😂 Saying "The younger generation doesn't have disposable income" has to be the biggest joke running... You mean the same generation that has $1500 Iphones, 85 inch 5k tv to play their $500 PlayStation/Xbox on with $50-60 each game and paying to "upgrade with a in game purchase" Coming into work in $200-$500 sneakers (i have personally worked with many that do that). stop and get 2-3 $10 designer coffees a day and eat out either fast food or at a restaurant 2-3 meals a day? They couldn't buy enough Stanley mugs @$50 each to match the outfit they wear? Buying BOGG brand purses and crap at $100 or more each accessory? Lets not leave out the massive amount of 18-20 year old (or sadly younger) females that "loved" their boyfriend so much she is now a single mom.(Kids are expensive). They have more "disposable" income than their parents who are paying a mortgage and all associated bills of a home. The same younger people that complain "rent is to expensive because BOOMERS" yet when you tell them that iPhone is 2 months rent they look at me like i just spoke alien language.

    Harley riders are the reason sales have gone down. You see a goober with an HD shirt, vest , boots, handband, sunglasses, and underwear and you think wow that guys a goober, add on the general smugness of most Harley riders and their obsession with annoying loud pipes it just adds to the level of gooberness.

    Ironic isn’t it! Motorcycling may be dangerous (not is dangerous). But all you see at bike shows is old people dressed as pirates and wannabe racer boys! Why? Because they have lived and risen above it all! Because they’ve had an awesome, ungiveupable life of riding the bikes of their choice! I’m in my fifties, about to hit the track again with my big brother who, 40 years ago, introduced me to motorcycling! When I got my first bike in 1989, I was driven 60km from my home town, picked up my first bike on the Friday night of the first ever Australian 500cc Motorcycle Grand Prix. Rode it 60km back to my home, then with my brother’s mate on his Slabby 750, rode the 250km to Phillip Island THAT NIGHT! the anticipation was incredible. Forty mates all staying at another’s family holiday house. Next morning we were in a 25km long motorcycle traffic jam to the circuit! This was my first big ride. It was INCREDIBLE! The camaraderie of all types of bikers. My heart is racing again just writing this! The rest of my younger years was spent going places with people on bikes. Young people just DO NOT UNDERSTAND freedom! Nor the self control to properly control a motorcycle for long periods of time. Especially after the you know what!! Great vid. Congrats to you and your wife on your new baby girl! 🏍💨😜❤️

    I'm 63. I had a 2013 HD Heritage Softail Classic Anniversary. Bought it in 2013, sold it in 2022. Rode a '97 Dyna Low before that. Just bought a 2012 Triumph Thunderbird 1600 ABS. Loved my Harley until owning a Harley became a political statement. Happier to ride a bike that was voted cruiser of the year in '09 and '10 by Cycle World magazine, and has no particular stigma attached... And at the same size and weight, it totally out performs, and out handles my old Softail at half the price used!

    My guess is that millenials also don't feel cool on a Harley because the old guys riding them aren't cool, not because they are not rebels but because they see them as slightly stupid, even affectionately. They see them as wealthy, not poor, or they see them as a bunch of boys scouts too proud of their uniform.

  • @motorpolitan8884
    @motorpolitan8884Күн бұрын

    Yes, they are. Anyone saying "motorcycles are expensive", is just complaining about not being able afford a Panigale V4. If somebody wants to ride motorcycles, nothing is stopping them from buying clapped out 125cc bikes and having a good time. Are young people buying used small displacement bikes? They are not, because all bikes are dangerous, regardless of the price.

    People afford things according to their priority lists. Look @ all of the high tech stuff that these kids today think they have to have. Precisely why the costs of lots of motorcycles has risen to the levels that they have. Meaning we have to have all of this high tech shit that there're loading on these bikes. Kudos to Royal Enfield & some good Chinese bikes coming out. Then there's the used bike market with oodles of great buys. Another thing is we are becoming a world of walking billboards. How much for all of these tattoos that we plaster all over our bodies??? They add to this expendable income too. We're a world full of excuses.

    Nice review! I've ridden 1300km in a day on Super Tenere, its one of the cheapest full adventure bikes to buy, and to maintain. The BMW will cost you more when you buy it, but by the time you hit 200000km on it, you will have spent a fortune in maintenance, while I've seen some put 200000km on the Super Ten without even checking the valves once...A redesign would probably help Yamaha sell more of them, but then again, keeping the old one is what allows them to sell it for under 20k in canada.
