I made this originally just to mess around and put up whatever interested me at the time, since that is mostly just work I'll mainly have structural drafting related video's.
If you can't stand bad editing and bad sound or more often than not no editing I'd suggest steering clear

This could be a couple of things. If this is a model from someone else and it only shows lines when you open it you might not have the profiles in your catalouge. If it is visable when you model it in but disapears when you reopen the view or redraw view it might be outside your view area, try setting your view depth or resetting you view area.
How did you make the file filters?

if it's about the "DocumentManager_fort.xml" file inside the model folder? that get's automatically created the moment you edit your document manager inside of tekla. (it uses the defualt DocumentManager.xml file inside the your template folder or tekla enviroment folder up to the point you customize the Document manager at which point it creates a new one in the model folder with your user name attached to the end..)
If it's about seeing non tekla drawing files from within the Document Manager then you'll want to use file paths or file extensions in the search string

Hi. Is there property name or search string to make category to filter specific phase?
Unfortunately I do not know of any filter specific to phase in the document manager. The only way around this that I have found and what I currently do is assign specific number series to phases and then filter according to that. e.g. Phase 1 = 1000 number series si my filter read looks for marks with *.1*
Hi, I am just starting to learn Tekla and after installing the trial version of 2022 Tekla Structural Designer, I do not have the left side pane. How do I activate/open it?
At the top where it says, | File | Home | Windows | Select Windows, Here you can toggle the Properties Window on and off. If it is on you can dock/undock it by dragging to where you want it.

Hi, If you hover over a column title and right>click you should get a menu going down that you can hover over "Show column" and it will give a list of columns that you can show.
i want to use feature like space bar hold button to swipe my layer. or at hold to make as color picker. how to program that one?
Apologies. No idea if Lua can do that. I stopped using it almost 2 years ago. I got a razer tartarus second hand for around $50 and have been using that as it is more comfortable and the software makes it very easy to use modifyer kies

Thanks for the video. What is the difference between user.ini and options.ini files?
not much, they both contain the exact same type of settings. it's just that the one in your user folder has to be called user.ini and the one in your model folder has to be called options.ini for tekla to properly read them, otherwise no differance

Very informative and nicely presented video. I have a remedy for the blue border you mentioned around the 8:20 mark. Set Advanced Settings -> Printing -> XS_USE_OLD_PLOT_DIALOG = TRUE. Select a drawing in the Document Manager and Click on Print, then click on Frames. The main outline for drawings is "Frame 1". Change your XS_USE_OLD_PLOT_DIALOG back to FALSE and you're done.

For your profiles catalogue you will need to set XS_PROFDB I usually make a Folder called "Profiles" under my firm folder and change the XS_PROFDB to something like C:\Tekla Structures\Company Settings\CompanyA\Profiles\" and then place my catalogue files in their. assdb.db (bolt assembly catalog) matdb.bin (material grade catalog) profdb.bin (profile catalog) profitab.inp (profile shapes) screwdb.db (bolt catalog)

Head over to your User settings folder and open the User.ini file with a text editor like notepad. hi can you do a touturial on how to color drawing lines same as color of part class : example if i have a beam color blue and anathor beam in yellow (in modeling by changing part class) when i open the assembly drawing it automaticly detects and draw the parts with same color
Hi, you cannot do that directly but you can definitely do it in a round about way, Their are some limitations to the colors you can use in drawings (see the colours available in the printer's 'line properties' tab) The main problem with the colours in drawings is each colour is assigned a line thickness and while you can change these you would have to carefully manage what colours you can and cannot use so the dims ect still end up printing with a lighter line then the parts.

HIBMacros still not working in compatibility of windows 7
No idea, I tried it on a couple of divices and it worked for me. Since you only need it to find the scan codes of each key you could try HIDmacro on another device as I find the scan codes are always the same.
see the problem, the button command works only DURING RELEASE . So when you press it records the original key letter and then when you release it gives you the modified letter that you want. So you get two letters for single button i tried with function press(key) lmc_send_input(string.byte(key), 0, 0) -- press lmc_send_input(string.byte(key), 0, 2) -- release end how to use this any suggestion ?
Maybe for commands where you need to confirm your action like moving to the next drawing after editing. a ctrl+Pagedown for the press and y for the release.

i use one of those fancy looking one hand keyboards, i set 'q 'as 'y'. but when i press 'q', i get "qy". how to solve this , please help.
Unfortunately I am not sure, I have found Lua macro does not always work correctly and would often need to be restarted.

Great Channel and great tip. I'm using HidMacros for years, and it kind of works with Windows server 2016 that I'm using. The best pad I've found is the Delux T9. Thanks. The deluxe T9 looks cool and not a bad price. Strangely enough I found more physical keys are not necessarily better. I am currently using a razer tartarus I got cheap second hand about a year ago. Been working so well that I only have to lift my hand off of it to type emails and it's software is very stable. I have the thumb trigger set to ctrl and shift and alt by the pinky to use as modifiers leaving 13 buttons for basic functions it can also cycle through 8 modes so I currently have about 100 unique commands set up.

I've got all my beam, column, split, combine, line, point and all copy/move command on my T9 along with bunch of view modes and separate old keyboard above my main one with my most used connections: 144, 27, 1042 "the other 27" etc. I've printed small icons an numbers on sticky paper and can't be happier then that. aside from a "L" missing in the first lmc it all looks fine. Although that was probably just missed when you copied the code into the comment field. My first recommendation is to check if Lua is looking for the correct device as it can change depending on what usb port you are plugging into. So unplugging your keypad and then plugging it back in can cause it to not work. Run HIDmacro and recheck the device name. also run "lmc_print_devices()' in lua macro and see what devices it throws out. I have copied the wrong parts out a couple of times now so make sure you are using the correct part of the name.
