  If he swung or poked it down would’ve been fine he had an open hand contacting the ball so unless it was a block which it wasn’t probably illegal beach doesn’t usually allow the indoor equivalent of placement in the form of a tip

  No, it was already on the plane of the net. The camera angle just gives a false impression, but look at where the ball is going to fall before anyone contacted in relation to the net

  @@chriskosokowsky1770 The ball clearly crosses the plane(that still applies even if most of the ball is still on the attackers side). Pause it the moment that the blocker makes contact with it and not when the attacker comes in for the joust. You can also look at how close the setter was to the net and see that he sets the ball towards the net.

  Looks like he was watching the ball. With the set, I feel like the attacker had some pretty obvious cues. It also looked like to me he was committing to a line or cross, he was just lined up for the shoulder like in indoor
