  They need to move coz Loftus road is out dated with a small capacity. I used to go back in the day. But got fed up with the shite facilities. I started supporting a different club . Which now I live about 1 mile away from.Maybe if they had a decent stadium I might of stayed a fan.

  Not quite since 1882, the Rs moved to the bush from park royal in 1917 The current footprint of the ground does not allow for redevelopment and it is also surrounded by houses of which some years back some were owned by the club but have long since been sold on.

  Yes, the ratio at QPR is 1:1. I believe that other clubs will in future operate such areas at more than 1:1, as is regularly done in Germany. Space per fan will continue to be as stipulated by the safety guidelines, i.e., not less than 0.2sqm.

  The elderly, those less steady on their feet and the overweight perhaps. I don't know what's taking so long to bring standing back. Hillsborough was caused by an incompetent police force and penned and fenced terraces, the latter of which don't exist anymore.

  "Tell your club you want real terracing"! I congratulate QPR for this effort. But is it any different to standing up in seated area?, Not able to move position, not the freedom of terraces, better off in seats but able to sit where you want. We have seats in all Polijud stadium including the North Stand but better atmosphere than any English team. I also visited RC Lens in France with proper terrace along one side, but completely safe, I could move to either end to watch the action or just to talk to people - not stuck in position. Its also easy to install seating for UEFA games. Seating is less about safety more about control & police intelligence & rail seats still allow authorities to identify who is in any exact position. I do nothing illegal at football but still don't wish to be spied on by big brother. English football is the best, but prefer to watch on TV - Ours is crap but the stadium is way more exiting

  If local legislation and regulations permit, yes. Conversions of existing stands create some challenges, but with a new build you could typically have a standing capacity 50% greater than the seated capacity would be in the same space.

  No, with the rail set at a height of 800-900mm (as prescribed by the UK safety authorities), it is possible to achieve clear sightlines for seated fans in almost all stadium settings.

  The idea of the seat springing back with a rail makes more sense than a locked seat. Fingers crossed that clubs will wake up and install these asap. Although at the club I support they and the police are already finding excuses not to agree a system. All clubs should listen to the fans whom without there be no club.

  The seat is so that the ground can comply with all-seater regulations when necessary, e.g. for UEFA games and, for the time being, for domestic football games. There is room in theory to increase capacity, but the plans at Ashton Gate are 1 standing fan per space.
