The idea of the seat springing back with a rail makes more sense than a locked seat. Fingers crossed that clubs will wake up and install these asap. Although at the club I support they and the police are already finding excuses not to agree a system. All clubs should listen to the fans whom without there be no club.

With this, can you fit more fans in or is each persons space the same as a normal football ground?

If local legislation and regulations permit, yes. Conversions of existing stands create some challenges, but with a new build you could typically have a standing capacity 50% greater than the seated capacity would be in the same space.

It's good but I still dislike the specific seat allocation system. I don't like that me and mates might be stuck in a season ticket seat apart from one another instead of being able to move around and stand where we want

For now, whilst persistent standing is not allowed, does the rail not impede the view?

No, with the rail set at a height of 800-900mm (as prescribed by the UK safety authorities), it is possible to achieve clear sightlines for seated fans in almost all stadium settings.
