So true. In my Asian country, people do not hesitate to tell you you’re getting fat or gained weight. Shames you for sure. I wasn’t even fat. I was 50 kg then. When I have gone back to visit it actually motivated me to lose weight. I’ve always been self conscious but was even more determined not to be called fat so I jogged even though I hated it. I live in australia now and they don’t tell you fat so I’ve let go specially since I’ve had 2 kids.

So here's a fun story for you about buckets of food... When I was sixteen I spent two weeks at my girlfriend's house with just her and her mother (we slept separately, of course) while my parents were out of town. My girl's mom knew that fried chicken was my favorite food, so we went to KFC one evening, and she went to the drive through. As we're waiting in line, her mom reads off a sign. "Look there, they have an eight-piece meal that comes with three sides and six biscuits. What do you think?" That's pretty much how my family has always done it, so I said "Yeah, that sounds good." She turned back to the speaker and ordered it. ...then she turned back around and asked my girl "...and what do you want?" 😮 The two of them both ordered combo meals that had a sandwich and two small sides with a drink. This woman literally ordered an eight-piece family meal specifically for me alone. I mean...I loved fried chicken (still do) and I was a bit overweight at the time, but it was hard not to be offended by that. And, of course, there was another problem. The way I was raised...you don't throw food out. And if somebody fixed you a meal, or bought you one, it was bad manners not to eat it. It nearly killed me, and I felt like I couldn't move for hours, but I ate every bit of it except four of the biscuits. I couldn't manage to force down all the biscuits after eight pieces of chicken, two large size mashed potatoes and a large coleslaw, but dammit, I did my best. And from that point on, my girl would tease me relentlessly about it. She knew it was my manners that compelled me to eat it all, and she found that adorable. She started calling me a "family man," because I was "a family, man." 😂 Sort of a happy ending though. When that happened, I was 6'0" and probably around 240ish, and I now weigh about 190. Really funny memory to look back on, though.

His humor is priceless but he's wrong about when fat people lose weight: They are usually stockier built on average and when people with a wider face, larger bone structure lose weight, they usually have way more shape than a typical slim person. So if you're heavy I would encourage you to look forward to being exceptionally attractive if you lower your carbs (cleanly, healthfully) and get active with lots of cardio. You have so much to gain (besides that dull stuff of adding 30 years to your lifespan and having a disease free life - who really cares about such trivialities anyway?).

I was in the little commute airplane going from Orange County to Los Angeles airport and a "big" guy got onboard and he sat next to me and I had to put half of my ass out so he can fit in his assigned seat. this was in the early 90's. it was so disgusting. the flight attendant was as nothing was wrong with it!!! WTF!!! I am 5.4 and the guy easy was 6' up and 8' wide!!!
