That belt has definitely degraded, so that one definitely needs a good clean and proper replacement. It would also be a good idea to replace all other belts as well, because even if they haven't broken down they're probably stretched out, which due to the lack of friction and slipping can cause excess wow and flutter. Other than that, it does look like a really nice deck. Really love that green light on recording level display.

Just purchased one of these. Incredible machine, but I have a few questions. 1. When I try to correct a mistake, it often does not erase the printed character. Why? 2. Does the machine come with something to cover the interior? Like, a sliding glass, or anything like that? I'm a bit worried that the ink will dry up leaving it exposed to the air. 3. Mine did not come with installed batteries, but it works. Should I find some? Is it Important? 4. The number 2 requires a bit of pressure to print. Is that easy to fix? How so? 5. In general, how can I take care of this wonderful machine and keep it in service for multiple years, if not longer? Thanks.

I had some issues with mine, it wouldn't play a VHS, but the fix was as simple as turning off "synchro rec" and also turning off "rec mode" with the remote, which was messing with that feature in some way. kind of a unique player, bought mine at a garage sale for $10

Have you ever seen a stereo smiliar to this where the CD door flips down when opening it, and it has a carousel CD changer? So let me explain all this buddy. So the 25 disc changer I remember, that looks similar to the one in this video, it has 25 slots. All CD slots sit inside the main unit. So if you put all 25 CDs in their individual slots in the carousel CD changer, and push the CD door up, what happens is, you can hear one of the CDs drop into a slot when the carousel mechanism of the unit moves and roates, when, changing to CD 10 for instance. so i wam wondering if this unit has all 25 slots sitting next to each other. Also, my family's old pioneer unit had this unit, plus the top unit that was a double cassette deck. that was an auto-reverse unit. plus, our unit, came with these big ass speakers. do you remember a home stereo like this, even the one i described? where the stereo came with a second unit with 2 cassette decks? and a set of 2 5 foot tall wooden speakers with that old school cloth grill? And my god, were the speakers on my family's old 90s Pioneer home stereo very good? with a woofer and tweeter built into each speaker. super loud too. my guess, 200 watts altogether. huge volume knob was in the center of the main console of the CD changer unit. very rumbly when changing discs while the discs were loaded in the unit. but yeah bro let me know if this stereo has the same feature i told you about, where there are 25 disc slots that are sitting smudged together in a carousel style in the main unit. where a CD would drop into a slot when changing discs while the main door unit is closed. and if this isn't the model, what model is that pioneer unit with that feature? god i miss my family's old home stereo. sadly, the speakers went out years later, in the mid 2000s. 2004, or 2005 I believe. after all the jamming out in our old apartment we lived in long ago in the mid 90s. lol. great stereo though bro. love it.

The transparency of this receiver leaves my RX-V1900 in the closet. As a joke I swapped the basic power cord for two feet of 12AWG cable. Yes, it actually improved the sound. Don't ask me how it did this. I'm using it's AKM codec fed by the optical of an unmodded Music Hall CD25. Speakers are JBL A130 with phase corrected. It's actually disturbing how good this setup sounds. It doesn't seem to make sense.

Nice unit but very disappointed with the quality of the unit buttons very hard to press lasted me about a month after recording some cassette tapes. Started playing my music slow and fast ate a few of my cassettes. Got a full refund. Upgraded to a better player. Good thing pyle refunds you and puts warranty on their products and the only company that sells and still make cassette players. Hopefully my next one works and last a little bit longer.

they are part of a 1963-64 RCA console- when plugged into the console they disconnect the console tweeters and still use the console woofers it was called total stereo sound and worked great
