  I'm not going to pretend that there is ZERO enjoyment in minmaxing systems and game economies, but this seems overwhelmingly disproportionate for what originally drew me to show interest in this game. Not their fault, but I really digged the visceral action, the camera shake and over-the-shoulder angle. Was really hoping it might scratch an itch in the same vein as Time Crisis. Anime girls on top to add the cute shit that I'm into. But damn, for the beginners guide to come out and say "don't train any pokemon outside of your party or you're wasting your time!" That sucks. Giving a spreadsheet in the beginner's guide sucks. Not to say the guide was bad. I'm just disappointed that these games lean in the way of obfuscating their economy and mechanics and focus on temptation in order to extract dollars from people. The game probably suffers from it, who knows what a banger it could be if it was a game first and a money-printer second.

  Korean games clearly have effective psychological manipulation to ensure whales (that usually account for 95% of income) spend $$$$ to compete against each other, maxing out characters for example. Considering the lack of real time pvp like epic seven it seems its more bragging rights than anything. Being at the top of the arena, or tower, something like that. The ranking boards, whales love that in games. Just look at clash of clans.

  Great content Pocket! You straddle the line between funny/cringe very masterfully. The time and effort in the editing really shows with the scene selections and audio. I might not play Honkai Star Rail but you made me enjoy its "quirks and features". I hope to see more (maybe next year?)!
