As an Air Force retiree, I still nerd out on this plane. What a beauty! I mean, good God, they built this thing in the 50's using slide rules and no computers! Absolutely phenomenal!

Wow, Jake, now that is a quality video thank you so much!! I learnt so much, would you ever consider doing a video on like A Lenco, planetary transmission? It would make for an interesting contrast compared to normal transmissions. Keep up the great work Jake!! YOu should license you videos out to higher education as you can accelerat higher learning with these videos.

Are you sure there is a Yard hoist on the course sails ???? Not on any square rigger I have sailed. Tops’l, t’gallant and Royal = yes, all have halliards. (Haul-Yards) and the clew line normally goes straight uo so the clew arrives at the end of the yard for furling and stowing. Picky, I know but you asked for comments Peter. Here's a reality check for you hypnotized people. "Airlines"✈ run on air, e.g., the Airbus 380 is claimed to carry about 82,000 thousand gallons of "Jet A" or JP5 fuel, (manufacturer specs.) This Jet A is weighing in at 6.8 lbs. per gallon, that's 557,600 pounds of fuel divided over 10 fuel tanks ! The 10 fuel tanks must carry 55,760 lbs. a piece (tail tank smaller). If each wing has at least 4 tanks full, that's about 223,040 lbs. of fuel alone, inside each wing (ya sure) with no Center Tanks at all (mfg. spec). When you try to calculate how many Airline Flights are occurring each day, from any International Airport anywhere, you'll realize there is no local "Fuel Tank Farm" that's being constantly resupplied by a fleet of Fuel Tanker Trucks trying to get into the "Fuel Farms". Here is an example of the size of these massive fuel storage terminals www.flystl.com/newsroom/stl-news/2018/stl-airlines-to-invest-50-million-for-jet-fuel-storage-facility you can do the math, (lol) 🤣. Now the Aviation fuel trucks skymarkrefuelers.com/products/ their biggest Jet Re-fueler is only 10,000 gallons ! So it would take 8 of this type of Tanker to fill the A380 ✈ just once ! LOL ... 😉 How long do you think that would actually take ... ? Commercial Airlines and Military Military Transport Aircraft are started by the (APU) Auxiliary Power Unit (Aircraft Engine Starting-Wiki) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aircraft_engine_starting , which require some fuel stored near the APU, but the High Bypass Turbines (eg. CFM-56) create thrust by compressing air. This phenomena is seen in nature, and taken from Viktor Schauberger's Turbine Technology since the 1930's, frankgermano.wordpress.com/viktor-schauberger-the-repulsine/ but this is a trade secret and they'll never admit to it. Citizens and customers would feel cheated and demand cost adjustments from the Airlines. The American public would start asking questions about the 9/11 Event False Flag CGI fireballs etc.

Can u compile all this stuff in logical order like a course for all your CASE studies & upload on Scribd like platform for Engineers to download. Newton said: I can c far bcz I am standing on shoulder of giants. If we all document our work for others to c, as opposed to making others reinvent the wheel, technology will enhance at exponential pace. People like u should be university teachers in place of professors with ultra narrow knowledge.

I downloaded your excellent video to watch later. I liked how you stated you would name the aircraft in your description section and watched to see what clues it would give as to which nation the aircraft was from in WW I. I laughed when I noticed all the gauges were in - German as I then knew which country fighter this belong to. I enjoy your work greatly. Thank you for all the work that you put into each of your videos. Shalom

KZread is getting pretty bold with four commercials every 5 minutes. Starting to piss me off. But this was awesome. What an AMAZING piece of Art, created almost 80-YEARS AGO, by hand/drafting board. Maybe aliens really did give us the knowledge to make this marvel! Way cool...just not so many goddamn commercials.

I was assigned to the 92d Security Police Squadron at Fairchild AFB in 1980 when the SR-71 Blackbird came to our base. I along with my partner were hand picked by both the wing and squadron commanders to secure the SR-71 inside an aircraft hanger. We had nuclear weapons on base for our normal SAC mission and had secret clearances. When we were selected to secure the SR-71 our classification level was changed to top secret!! Our commander advised us to keep very quiet about what we might see and learn, if not we could look forward to 30 years military prison confinement and a dishonorable discharge. We kept our mouths shut, even the rest of the base personnel were cautioned to not ask a single question about our experience. The FBI visited my Mom in Tucson, Arizona to inquire if I could do as ordered. I was never able to explain to her why they came to visit, they did inform her I was fine, not in trouble, but selected for a top secret mission!! She passed away without me explaining my mission!!! The two crew members were great and showed both of us things we did Not need to know about!! We had blown up detailed photos of those allowed to enter the hanger and ordered to shoot first, ask questions later should some one try to enter without permission!! In this case we both out ranked anyone in the military even though we were enlisted airmen!!! I will never forget it, I do not have words for this!!! I love this video and learned a few things about the aircraft that the crew did not explain!!!

I've always loved steam trains, but seeing the inner workings and how intricate and incredible the engineering was that went into these absolutely BEAUTIFUL machines is astonishing. I weep that humanity can't come up with anything this gorgeous anymore. Everything is so bland and boring, I'm glad to be able to see this kinda stuff and vicariously enjoy the grandeur of a time that I will never see in person <3 Trying to explain all this to our 4yr old daughter ... LOL I get so excited about it and she just is like "Ok!". I hope someday she enjoys this history as much as I do :) We get to go to the NC Transportation Museum all the time so she does see some engines at least!
