Saskia from Los Angeles Guinea Pig Rescue
Saskia from Los Angeles Guinea Pig Rescue
A collection of videos by director Saskia Chiesa, who started the organization in 1999 shortly after arriving here from her native Holland. Some are funny, some terribly sad and most all are extremely informative. As the largest guinea pig welfare organization in the USA, LA Guinea Pig Rescue serves Los Angeles City, County and surrounding cities. Over 2500 guinea pigs were rescued and re-homed in 2023 alone. LAGPR offers rescue, sanctuary and adoption services as well as free wellness checks, nail clips, advice and ongoing support to all guinea pigs and their owners. Guinea pigs are rescued from city shelters and private parties.

Ive always had girls, and until i watched your videos i never knew about boars. I’ve got 2 boars now, and because of you i know what to do! Thanks xxx
Amazing results in so little time!
That poor pig! 😢
She is the Guinea Pig 🐹 Goddess. She is awesome with the adorable little potatoes. ❤❤ im glad i have girls. That looked so painful, but so glad his ouchie is better. I didnt know you had to do this to boy piggies. 😬😬😬
Oh dear, that looks nasty. Good luck with the treatment, little baby!
so just curious if i were to board my piggie or pet in general at aa place would I expect to see a bill for the vet or would a boarding facility look at this as their bill to pay as the pet is in their care when a problem arose? or would a facility just have a "medical attention needed" type of note when I came to get them. i honestly have never boarded a pet so I don't know how ti would work
Definitely depends on the situation, but this only happens from neglect. This didn’t start at LAGPR it started at the owners home
@@bluerabbit7683 i wouldnt put this to "neglect" we have heard from hundreds and thousands of people who never even considered that they need to make a peen come out of the sheath and help the boys clean it letalone what is inside the pockets.
Ooh that poor piggy😢 hopefully he's on the mend
It’s called the sack you have to separate from skin. That’s sack wall in there. 😮😮😮😮😮😮
Ouchie!
Poor baby. I know he feels better now.
What about some pain meds on his ears! Good healing vibes heading your way Red!
It’s amazing how quickly they can move infection out
Poor Red this is why it's important when cleaning and bathing pigs to pay attention to their nether regions
that poor baby
I’m really glad it healed up fast like that. It must have So painful. Thank you Saskia for helping the littles.
I hope Saskia has a talk with his owner about checking this area. I've never seen such a bad infection on a boy part. Bleeding! Pitiful baby. But Saskia has helped him tremendously in just 2 days. Great job!!
Ooof! I have a boy that has that amount of smegma every week. I have to keep him clean, but no blood or infection. Thank you for all you do.❤
Thank you Saskia for all your work.. :-)
Thank you for making all these videos. Watching your videos helped me learn a lot more about guinea pigs then I already knew and as I continue watching your videos I keep learning so much more about them. I really love everything you do for all the animals at your rescue especially the guinea pigs. Also I want to thank Scotty for helping out at the rescue when he has time.

Thanks for this video, Saskia! I've got a 7 year old boy and have been checking his 'cheeky bits' every 7 to 10 days. He often gets the icky white stuff on his wee and extra yuck in his pocket. I also have to trim his teeth occasionally, as the top 2 are slightly crossed and seem to grow quickly. Your tutorials have helped so much. Thank you 🥰💖
😮 Das sieht aber auch aua aus.
Red looks just like my guinea pig Alvin!
God bless Saskia. I know he will be feeling better in no time❤️
I'm glad he's getting better. He's so cute ❤
The little donut pillow to elevate the booty is brilliants. I'm catching up on your vids after a long time. Do you still put CBD on the ears to help piggies who are ouchie? You've convinced me how amazing and essential it is
Oh yes!!! I cannot see a future without it. I feel that in some instances it works better than pharmaceuticals. This may be why it took decades to make CBD legal. And the crazy part is that it there ins no THC. Full-spectrum CBD products may contain up to 0.3% THC, while broad-spectrum products contain almost none.
Poor fella..😢
Wow, that must have been awful. Thanks for helping little Red. I have no further questions. And a fellow to check when I get home. My takeaway from this is I probably ought to be checking there more often so something like this wouldn't have the chance to advance that way.
Poor baby, glad he is getting better
Thanks so much. I will check my boys.
Poor little Red! 😢 Makes me so glad I check my boy's bits regularly! He's a cuy with a massive pocket (his vet calls it his "mangina" lol) and has experienced infection in the pocket previously. So now he gets his pocket cleaned and peepee checked on a schedule! 😊
Thank you for everything Saskia! Your videos are so educational and helpful ❤
The healing is so quick with the right care, amazing! Feel better little man!
Put vasoline or antibiotic ointment
