Welcome to my channel!
My name is Mike, my videos circle around the various projects I get into in my spare time.
The videos are typically related to vintage or antique generators / electrical equipment.
I work full time as an Emergency / Stand-By power generation technician.

If someone added wire and something wrapped in it with the dial to dictate how much power to use was probably some sort of electric shock therapy device.
I am trying to figure out at what price point do you get a reliable, serviceable engine, generator/ commutator and controls?
Great explanation 👍
that light is pretty much like looking at the welding light.
I wonder what they would call the next size up Hatz diesel? Maybe, a Small Hatz? I'll see myself out now.
@17:30 i think its a design flaw, of that particular model. The way intake and exhaust valves are interlocked with addition of the vacume draw inside the piston and the valve guide at the bottom.
I’d love to see more of your videos.
That should be all the information you need. I hope I helped. I'm a machinist. Love the channel.
These cat generators are something else. There was a D315 generator at a show i went to and have posted a video on my chanel. To find an AC generator that runs at 1000rpm is very unusual in the UK. Impressive machine you have there. kzread.info/dash/bejne/lp2a1MGkqtG7crg.htmlsi=9JSVtT5e4saKLSK9
bd you stopped your content you are of the better that i watch
I think when it is coasting, the gas is collecting between the adjustable valve and the springed intake valve. So possibly to much gas the first try? So eliminate the length between them?
Good video, so no ball joints then, now I have an understanding about a kingpin front end. Appreciate the video keep up the good work.
Mate, you've got courage! As an electrical engineer myself, I would not go anywhere near any electrical appliance from 1890!!
Need help timing my weldenpower 225 with Wisconsin 2 cylinder how do I set my magneto timing
Would you have a copy of the wiring diagram of the generator
good afternoon, I need a diagram of the adaptation you made, I think it is compatible with sr4, the one I am trying to repair has between f1 and f2 of exitatris 4 ohms, AVC63-12 (compatible with vr6a) trips and opens the fuses, thank you
Halfway through the video- could be choke to lean- could be intake valves
I can't help but love hit and miss engines but do they use more or less fuel than conventional engines of comparable horsepower?
Well, I’m guessing he gave up on KZread
You'll find he hangs out a bit on 805ROADKING channel. He just gave up on all his supporters on this channel for some reason.
Seems that way. There are other channels like this so not much lost.
I have this exact unit. Would I be better off fixing and flipping it as a light plant or turn it into a tow behind power plant? I'm also not sure where to begin to check the wiring. The engine runs really well and just needs some maintenance and tuning. Thank you!
I have an early 40's Kohler 1A21 and a 1950 3.5A21. Both run excellent, make good power, and people love to hear them run at iron shows. I use them to power everything in the display I have. It's a bunch of fun to show people the old equipment doing its job and doing it well.
I have a 3-71 in my boat that was built in 38, and it was modified along the way and doesn't use a head gasket, I rebuilt it several years ago and it was a wonderful experience for me as i had. never worked on a diesel engine. I just work on my own engines. not a mechanic. It took me three months as it was in my boat in the marina and i did a whole bunch of research and had help from friends. One friend gave me a great navy publication called a students manual for gray marine diesel, publiched 1943 and another guy gave me a factory service manual for the 2-71 engine published in 1972. and i find many diesel mechanics will waste time on the phone talking about their favorite engines the 2 stroke detroits. not to mention videos on you tube covering every aspect of rebuilding these motors. I love this engine it is so trouble free and the physics and engineering in it are fun to learn about. I wish i had found diesel engines when i was young.
I just dug up a 550 chipper, had never heard of the brand but ive immediately been met with plent of people who have good memories with it. Very interesting. This chipper i found looks quite Fd up and i dont know anything about mechanics so. I just hope this cool thing doesn't go to waste. I dont want to scrap it
I remember hearing that the length of the hot tube affects the ignition timing, maybe it was the wrong length tube fitted originally or maybe because it's running on gas now, it may need slightly different timing? So cool tho and runnimg quite well in the vid.
You are saying that this generator side would have to be totally rebuilt because there not made that way no more .
Deben demostrar soldando algo más serio como x ejemplo las garras de una escavadora los segmentos de un Caterpillar
Fascinating and informative, thank you!
You better hope that is not a jumping spider!
Can somebody explain what the measurments mean, and he is adjusting them. Plz thx.
The gas pressure needs to be higher and then the intake valve pressure turns up so it don’t leak gas, because the spring equals out the gas pressure and when the engine sucks it makes the negativ pressure on the valve and it lets a Big part of gas in. More gas more power baby. You need to look at you exhaust valve-rod i Think there is a to Big gabe when it is full closed. Exhaust valve problem first, before more gas pressure problem
At 16.37 time in the video you Can see the gab betwen the exhaust valve rod and full closed on the camshaft. I Think it is to big of a gab

Hi Mike! I hope you are well. I'm missing watching your videos, hopefully you will get back into it again!
Black exhaust usually means unburned fuel ⛽ !!? So you maybe have to check the fuel system for leaks or whatever it needs to burn less fuel !?
A tractor grill on a generator is a cool feature! Your electrical design and wire routing is perfect x 10. More young people need to get into the trades and learn to do quality work such as this! Thank you!
that motor is huge. 14 litre displacement, she must be thirsty at full tilt.
Hope you're OK we really miss you Mike.
Hi Mike, any plans for new videos? There are a ton of us out here that enjoy your channel. Take care.
Soy de argentina tengo el mismo 😅
I just bought an old tire truck that has one. It runs well and builds air very fast
Do you have a link to the seal kit?
We had two of them on the dairy farm one attached to the side of 400 internationl tractor. Another on a two wheel cart pto driven. Worked great.
We miss you bro!
Attatch a hose to the airfilter, and it will stop the stink-bugs and other nasty things from getting in there...
Your electrical equipment you mounted on the generator is not rated for outdoor use
Went to your channel to find the follow-up video for this and didn't see one. I guess the project was abandoned? Too bad, looked like a good start with the frame.
Incredible! These engines are so rugged - no wonder they are still going strong. Thanks for the demo!
Hi Mike, is everything OK? You haven't posted in quite a while.
Thanks a lot for posting.
I'm impressed by the durability of the those old monsters, they can handle so much abuse and still kick over. I'ld like to find maintaince manuals and tune up kit for these units, could you lead me in the right direction?
Dude i hope you are ok it has been a while ? ? ? ?
