Cycling is in my DNA!
I've been around bikes forever, raced since I was a kid and opened a bike store in my hometown in 2009!
Whilst owning and running a business, it's fair to say life got in the way and I lost the love for riding.
I began this channel to capture my journey back into cycling! Quitting bad habits and turning my life around, as I re find my love for riding a bike in my mid 40's!
Please subscribe and help me spread the good vibes far and wide!

Hate vo2 sessions 🤮 but they do the trick
@@JK-wl5bx Agreed mate…. 😖😜
Big session 💪
@@SwimBikeRunStu Thanks mate.. Proper grafting 😬😖

Great session, strong numbers, youll be in top form for HR
@@veloperformance thanks mate…. Should be a great event, hopefully the legs will be good 👍
Are you training on fast wheelset?
@@damodamo7219 yeah mate … well they’re as quick as I can spin them anyhow… 👍
Do you know Rouvy? The climbs you go up in the Alps may be on there and you can ride them before your race.
Thanks for the message… I’ve heard of it but not used it before. It could be a good idea, but it might also freak me out 😬… I think I’ll get the training done and just go at it blind this time around and see how we get on. An idea for the future though, definitely 👍 Thanks for watching.
Awesome mate 👌😊👍
@@MariusBert Thank you 😎👊
That was a right proper session that will definitely bring gains, nice one!

Great video
Thanks!
Just watched the video and the nightmares are back)). Nice one!
Was the 315w for 20mins on that climb?
@@123oner2 nah, I had to check… it was actually 341 for 20 minutes, so maybe my FTP is a touch higher than 315…. Either way I couldn’t get near it on the threshold session on the indoor trainer… 😂… Just bad legs I think…. Thanks for watching 😁👍
@@daveridesagain Ah cracking effort! Great vid Dave, keep em comin!
@@123oner2 thanks mate
Just my 2 cents Dave. You are 5 weeks out i would also incorporate some heat training into your weeks. In 5 weeks you could become well heat adapted as I’m sure over the 7 days you will get some warm ones. I know what the weather is like in your part of the world so get the painters suit and winter thermals on and get on the trainer in the garage and cook for an hour.
@@robredpath9860 thanks mate. I’m currently in Spain and here for the next few weeks. It’s currently 40 degrees… I’ve got heat adaption covered 😁👍
@@daveridesagain absolutely magic. You will find some form there. I think I’ll be in Girona myself from August 18th

@@MariusBert thank you mate 🙌
Dave, if you're doing indoor sessions this time of year, I think you need a lot more cooling/airflow. Get a couple of the Vacmaster Cardio54 air movers to supplement the fans on the bike - you won't regret it.
@@eddysobieralski8075 thanks for the tips mate.. I did have a couple running plus 2 on the bike but they weren’t really upto the job… Thanks for watching 👊
Enjoyed seeing the details of your training. I can relate to the difficulties of Zwift threshold workouts. I always find threshold and sweet spot the hardest because they are so long and uncomfortable in ERG mode on a trainer. I much prefer VO2 max sessions and get them over with quickly but I know the energy systems are different. By the way, I saw your video on that 12hr charity ride and what struck me was how all of you guys stayed together for the whole ride. I’m sure you guys kept a relentless pace too which makes it all the more impressive.
@@steve_m.3403 yeah, VO2 sessions are hard but like you say, done quicker…. It’s been quite a while since I’ve done any of this stuff and it was definitely a shock to the system 😖…. Thanks for the support 👊
Great video pal, really interesting
@@leebamber499 thanks mate 👊
Skip the nuts / fats up until haute Dave. Far too calorie dense. Handful of nuts there probably have the same amount of calories you just burned there on your fasted ride. I always drop my FTP 5-10% on the trainer as it’s not the same as outdoors and the workouts are not achievable. Better off completing the workouts 5% lower power than failing and asking questions of yourself. Cooling makes a remarkable difference on the trainer. Lots of fans and slush’s and ice drinks work wonders.
Thanks for the advice mate… it’s been a while since I’ve had to weight watch…. Yeah I think that percentage difference on the trainer would have made that threshold session more achievable… 👍
@@daveridesagain keep it up mate. Love the commitment and motivation you have 👍
@@robredpath9860 thank you 🙌
Agreed. Nuts and fats are healthy, but not particularly useful for calories restriction. The level of satiety you get from them does not correlate with the amount of calories they have. Better to have lower cal, high-volume.
@@robredpath9860 no they’re not. Quite low in fat. What you put in them might not be. They’re about 5/6gs per 100g of fat. Or about 8/9% of calories
Waheyy, great video mate - interesting to see the balance between losing weight and increasing power/endurance as those things often pull in different directions. I love a fasted Z2 myself
@@LeeWright Thanks mate. Yeah, the weight loss is kind of free gains. Not really a priority but if I can get a couple of kgs off and get down to 73/74 ish, it should make a difference..
