These cars grow on you seriously. I never was interested in them at all. Now I desperately want one! Must be something to do with getting older! The most charming British classic by a country mile. 👍🇬🇧

I had a Rover 75 Cyclopse in the '60s, It was a great big juice Gussler but I loved it. I can still remember the pungent smell of leather in the car. The headlight in the middle of the car was a great feature.

Do people buy Minors because of how great they are or just for it's famous farting exhaust sound when changing gear? I spoke to a owner of one and he revved it up a few times to listen to that overrun.

The Morris minor owners club forum, has a wealth of information about these cars. You're not obliged to join the owners club to view or ask questions on the forum. It's certainly helped me, when I purchased my traveller three years ago. Thanks for the music clip and photos.👍 cheers all.

The world's supreme small car the Morris Minor was called according to a book written about it which I have borrowed out of my local town library. Truly the best of British & so simple to work on, amazing it had been in production for some 23 years (1948-1971) & the millionth Morris Minor was built in late 1960 & some 350 Morris Minors were painted lilac & had white seats with black piping to mark the milestone.

Yours is one of the very first 1949 model versions. These had square dials along with column gear shift and also some had three piece front bumpers. Both were replaced on slightly later cars. Does your grille have 15 slats or 8? The grille was quite quickly altered to 8 slats as the original 15 slat grilles were found to cause overheating. Original 1949 cars were modified by the removal; of some of the original slats.
