🔴 Trading is Risky! 74 to 89% of retail investors lose money! Financial-Spread-Betting.com is where betting and finance meets, on the trading floor. This is a place where we can inform, and educate little, and hopefully entertain a little too.

Spread betting is an efficient way to trade the financial markets as you pay no stamp duty or CGT on any profits you make. This is because the activity is regulated as gambling, as opposed to investing, which means spread traders don't normally pay taxes on their winnings. The flipside of this is that with spread betting you cannot offset losses against your profits for capital gains tax purposes.

Leverage can amplify both your gains and losses since they are calculated based on the total exposure of the trade, not merely the margin needed to initiate it. Consequently, losses and profits could far outweigh your margin, so always ensure you’re trading within your means.

Although a “Williams %R” community script exists, TradingView has a built-in indicator called “Williams Percent Range”, which is easily overlooked if we type “Williams %R” or especially just “%R” into the search box.

i love your talk. Your Scotch Irish, Thats my intuition. This is besIde my point. I follow several stocks, and sometimes I may get a felling/intuition about one of the stocks I am Following. I will wait for the next trading day and fill a position. And will more than likely profit from that move. My intuition combined with TA has so far proved profitable.

He was a great trader . He turned 10k to 100 million dollar and without better understanding of market no one can do that but due to his bad relationship with his wife and some other problem he started to take trade when he wasn't even feeling mentally strong.

Actually stop losses are designed to make you lose money, because if you are right or wrong it will be hit by the market, so it's better to ride with the trend and be patient, and if you do really saw the trend is going the other way just close the trade manually.

Great video as always. Would you be able to tell me which instrument actually dictates the price for things such as Gold, Oil and indices? If CFD trades aren’t necessary going into the market then this price we’re trading is a mirror of the asset that is actually impacted by buyers and sellers. I understand that there are futures for all 3 of the products I just mentioned but there’s also options, physical markets and maybe others that I’m not aware of.

12 yrs later I come across this video and until today EWT is still called vodo! I'm grateful to that. It has to remain unpopular to stay effective. Sincere advice to the presenter and audience, study EWT very well before saying a single statement about it. Consistent profitable practitioner here. Thanks to all fellow practitioners for taking the top comments throughout the years.

Not really. The company here wasn't doing anything wrong. The company which would buy the tranches from bank and mortgage lenders who would originate the loans. They'd then layer them based on a handful of values, with the odds of someone defaulting on their mortgage being part of that value. At the time this was going on, the US government under Obama was continuing to support these mortgages, and had encouraged various original lenders to sign anyone to a mortgage, even if there was no way the person could actually afford to pay it. The US Government would take up the slack, meaning that anyone out there could get a home. This drove housing sale prices higher, and created a market where original lenders were encouraged (both by the government, and sales) to lend even more. This company was in turn making money, as they'd buy the mortgages off the original lenders for pennies on the dollar, paying 80 cents for every dollar of mortgage to the original lender. They'd then break the various mortgages up and in turn resell, or swap them with other banks to make a profit off the payments coming in on the mortgages. What Sullivan and Dale realized though, was in 2008 the lending that the original smaller banks was doing, had reached a point where, due to economic changes and new regulations brought on by the incoming Obama administration, it was going to be very likely that people were going to start defaulting on their mortgages; and in turn this would cause the banks to start to lose money. Keep in mind, the tranches were treated like stocks. So they only make money if they sell them for more than they paid for them, but like stocks, over time they can either gain, or lose value. Sullivan and Dale realized (and no one else at the company noticed it), that while the overall prices were currently high, it was already starting to lose value, and in turn the market was starting to crash. So rather than hold onto something that, in all probability, in the next few weeks or even month would be worthless; they started to sell it off to other banks, and pawning the problem off on the other banks. They weren't doing anything wrong, or even marginally criminal. However, if you want to point a finger at the lone person who is responsible? Don't point at the men and women in the room you see here. Point at the government, who placed regulations in place that made it easier for unqualified people to get housing mortgages. Oh, and the key thing that caused the bubble to burst? Shortly after becoming the President-Elect, Obama made it clear that upon taking office in January, he was signing an executive order freezing any and all interest payments on mortgages. The same mortgages the banks had. In doing so, it caused banks to not want to keep the mortgages around, as they wouldn't make money, and in turn caused the same banks to start selling the mortgages off... and the sudden influx of stock caused prices to drop, and the market to crash.
