From the pictures it looks like the 50 and the 50 EX has the same speakers. Only difference I see is the color EX is gray and the regular 50 is black, wattage looks the same 70 watt. Did you really hear a big sound difference? Maybe its construction is different. Thanks for the demo.
absolutely could hear the difference, we found the EX had a more focused and present sound, which definitely aligns with what Boss later published on their website: "Katana-50 EX Gen 3 features an upgraded speaker for increased projection and resonance on stage."
@@MannysMusic_Online Thanks for the reply that's awseome. But i think it's strange that it's the same wattage and label on the back of the speaker . The only difference i see is the color.
Think Phil just got a few of these amps sold. Great demo
I love the watch you are wearing. What brand/ model is it?
Im a bit neanderthol , what does it sound like without all the junk
My 51 vintage 2 tele is awesome. Easy to play great sound.
This is the kind of video you need to see when a having a serious GAS situation 😅
These two guitarist looks very similar. Are they identical twins?
📺😎🎸🎙️👏👍🏆🥇🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I'm interested in the new 51 Tele Pure Vintage pickups to replace the V-Mods in my 2016 Fender AM Pro Tele - any idea how they compare to the current CS Nocaster set?
You just sold me on this EC guitar. I originally wanted to order EC-1000s, but at the last moment I came across your video and.... man, just WOW! This charcoal burst finish is just gorgeous! Pickups wise, I thought that moderns is my way to go, but these open core classics not only looks better, but with this particular guitar (full thickness and direct mounted pickups) sounds huge and organic 🔥! Same love the attack and lower resonance. Great presentation! 🤘🏼
I wish they had the old logo instead

Funny how subjective sound can be. Something is just off to me. The Yamaha kits sound more natural to my ears. I’d love to hear a blind test and see if it’s just placebo or not, now that testing in real life is all but impossible as all the stores shut down.
Would like a sound demo on the 50 EX vs the Gen 3 100 watt model.
Я не ожидал, но это ахуенно звучит
Thanks for the video! : ) Between MINILAB 3 and Akai Professional - MPK Mini Plus ... What you you choose?
No
I don't find much of a difference between epi pickups vs gibson, maybe just a little more character to the gibsons, unfortunately epiphone pickups can be inconsistent, but are usually wax potted, some of the fakes can sound microphonic, and some have to be rewaxxed.
Epi almost not seen, this is a Gibson ad.
Can the S1 Pro Plus be combined effectively with the S1 Pro? Stereo? good for acoustic guitar? Thanks
unfortunately stereo linking an S1 pro and an S1 Pro+ is not possible, the best you can do is a dual mono solution, running a cable from one to the other for a duplicated output
Eb M7 - Ab M7 - Ab M7 b5 - G7 #5
I’m going back and forth between buying this or rodecastor duo
Having watched your review of the AV II 57 strat I thought the 57 strat sounded better with richer and glassy like tones the 61 sounded more of a rock guitar!
Get the 50 EX or go big with the 100 for home use?
The 100 is a lot of amp for home use, 50 EX is plenty loud! but you do get the FX loop on the 100 so that's something to consider
@@MannysMusic_Online Not sure I need the loop when so many high quality effects are available on the amp itself.
めちゃくちゃカッコイイ👍
Can you assign splash symbols and effect symbols sounds to the rims instead of rim clicks or cross stick sounds please if someone can answer this question for me I would appreciate it. Thank you.
I am looking to get into the baritone guitar playing world, but I am torn between which of these two guitars to purchase. I have only been playing for a couple of years but feel a yearning to head into baritone playing. Price usually determines quality, but if you had to suggest one over the other for a person just getting into baritone playing, which of these two guitars would you choose?
Hey Eric, the answer to questions like this is always to go and try them both in the shop and see which you like better! The PRS has a longer, wider and flatter neck, so the playing experience is quite different to the Squier. failing that, we'd definitely recommend the PRS over the Squier if you're looking to explore heavier genres, and vice-verca if you're more interested in classic clean Fender-style tones.
Cant wait for the software update so I can decide whether this thing is worth keeping or not. At the moment.... not !
Is the extra thin u neck on the arrow actually that thin, feel like most ltd's i try, especially 7 strings always have chunky necks
Can I plug it straight into a guitar amp?
No, this is a controller for software, it doesn't make any noise on its own
I was wondering if can we used this mic as a bass/kick drum mic? Its a condenser but how is the sound compares to dynamic.
I sold my Katana 50MKII today after recording around 50 Spotify songs with it and have bought Katana 100 Gen 3. Similar but really an upgrade with 8 channels, better speaker and several other features. Only drawback so far is that Kat Airstep doesn't work yet.

Something I just found out is that the epi classic has CTS pots where the Classic (faded) Does not so it’s worth buying the epi “Classic” 🍻
Nice review and playing Phill! 👌🎸
That EC-01FT is amazing.
Good review
The EX seems like the one to wait for. Or the 100W with the FX Loop
No puedo superar el sabor de este estado de ánimo. El Profeta 6 o el Profeta Oberheim suenan brillantes comparados con Trigon, es mi opinión subjetiva.
Can you access the tone studio via your iPhone ?
The Katana Go app is free and compatible with both iPhone and Android, but you do need to buy the Boss Bluetooth dongle for the amp.
Step even further outside your comfort zone and get a real job.
thanks for the career advice, much appreciated
Mmmm…..like the sound but the 50 ex holds 8 patches. Gen 3 only four like the original 50? Also, the Airstep Kat has provided a Bluetooth connection for a while now at a cheap price. But, I’ll get one for the new tone and connect them together for stereo. Hopefully they stack nicely.
I have the Airstep Kat but the Katana 50 Gen 3 does not have the usb B like the KAtana 50 MKII
As a 12 string player enjoyed the sonic palette you demonstrated on the Gretsch. But do I need another ? aaargh !
Excellent review, thank you very much❤❤ Is it possible to change the velocity curves on this piano? I tune not only to the sound of the piano itself but to the midi connection
Nice, what Strat is that?
cheers, it's the Cory Wong Strat 😉
Great review. Thanks for playing a lot of acoustic.
Our pleasure!
Bye bye piano ;)
Amazing sounding guitar. What Amp is this and what setting by any chance?
Brilliant review thank you.
That purple fuzz is at the top of my fuzz list. I got the orange one used for 1/3 the retail but I really want the purple. It looks a great as it can sound nasty.
Nice review and playing thank you
