  Just saw whose video this was. Shoutout to darren (sharkhunter) who hot rodded my grand fathers penn 9/0 to make it put out 50lbs of drag. It is a high speed wahoo trolling machine. What ever happened to the forum?

  the old Saltiga had these problems, the newer ones 2022 and newer are about the best in industry with a 5 year warranty. Adjusting drag while in drive mode will always damage any lever drag 2 speed. This is possibly what caused this issue.

  It appeared that during the handoff to the deck hand the pressure was taken off the tuna and it turned to shake the hook.

  I came back to watch this a year later hoping they would edit out the ball intrusion by his rod butt but…. Still there. I gotta say it hurts watching just as much today, but kudos to that angler for sacrificing his sack all in the name of trying to win the jackpot!

  Might wanna note that the further the line dwindles on the spool the higher the "actual drag" becomes.

  I don't know exactly what task these tools are for, but it's well a well thought out and simple design. I like to see ingenuity in customized equipment for the jobs we find ourselves doing every day.

  just like when the line is coming off the reel, the lower the line on the reel spool increased the drag pressure, so when you have very little line on the bulk spool you should decreased the drag tention on the spooler, plus I really dont think you need 20lbs of drag tension to spool a reel, at the end when you are fishing, your line coming back to the reel won't have 20lbs of drag , unless you hook a reel big fish , just my 2 cents

  I still haven't see anyone fishing with 30lbs of drag yet, anything above you better hold on to that setup or its doing bye bye , remember fish have tails and pull against you
