Ah, the days when United fans actually came from Manchester.
@steve-kl9iv2 күн бұрын
Clueless. Even at this time, 1985 United's fans came from all over the UK. Cockney reds were going and causing trouble in the early 70s! United gained a lot of outside support after Munich and then even more after winning the European cup in 68. Once the hooligan craze kicked off early 70s and united were one of the worst behaved, they attracted thousands of cowards from all over the UK who just wanted to be part of the biggest hooligan mob.

The police threatened pubs in the area to shut on the day otherwise they'll lose their licenses. In reality nothing much happened that day apart from a few broken empty pub windows. Ever wondered why the filming suddenly stops outside the Canterbury Arms? Millwall were marching through the Park opposite. Wham saw them coming, but instead of facing them, they opted to get into the ground asap. Some of them were caught though

Great days after supporting Manchester City of 40 years. I fucked it off. Ludicrous ticket prices, shit sanitized atmospheres, and silly kick of days and times to accommodate Sky and TNT sport's. Done with an heavy heart. But i just stopped enjoying the match day experience. Not the game I grew up with stood on the kippax at Maine Road in the 80s and 90s.
