8:26 once I had a bet-c just run. The scout chased for a bit, then gave up. After a long while of the boss health bar on screen, one of the charge suckers just healed? The bar did go away eventually.

On Engi, Shard difractor is generally your best bet for dealing with most bots and especially sniper turrets, just use make sure to use the heat mod. Fatboy will usually be a waste of ammo on these enemies unless you’re using it to hit all 4 vents on the caretaker

my personal theory is that the rival corp is composed of gnomes. elves wouldnt be concerned with hoxxes rocks at all, and goblins wouldnt make tech nearly as refined as what we see in game. gnomes, on the other hand, would definitely want the resources of hoxxes, whether it be for materials or for morkite. additionally, gnomes are too physically frail to go down there and do the mining themselves, but they do have the tinkering ability and hint of insanity to just engineer a few warcrimes to do the mining for them.

My personal opinion is that the Rivals are either Humans or Elves, elves for obvious reasons would be hilarious but I think humans fit better. Humans love information and we would gladly/ happily get more of it. The bots and their design is also very human like being one fully automated, two mimicking the wildlife of Hoxxas, and three just their general design of being very adaptable and built upon compromises between abilities seems like a very human engineering thing to do. That coupled with what they’re made out of and the design choices. It could also explain the word mimicry of the hunter k*ller, humans love to mimic things after all, why shouldn’t our robotic AI’s? Finally, creating an AI to hate seems like a very human thing to do.

Pleased to announce that for the first time in a bit, i (with a Scout’s great help) have managed to successfully churn a Korlok into shards without spending 29 minutes taking out the healing pods. Unfortunately Hoxxes IV decided that we’d spend those 29 minutes on several other bulks that spawned on swarms instead.

I do wonder, did the rivals come to hoxes in advance of the rockpox. Since they arived we've had all sorts of shit fall out of orbit. If they've caused them trouble on other worlds they may be here to see and learn about the progress of the infection.

Dang the segment for c4 fear and stun really opened up its use case for me. Never knew how much utility it really had until i played haz 4 from haz 3. It was the "heres my bigger sticky grenade from gunner" for the longest time as a greenbeard. But now... I see its both a sticky grenade, shield clutch (for fearing not on your teammates...), remote dreadnought, caretaker / dreanoughr phase skip, bunker, emergency dig, terraform or mining tool. The list goes on.. Thats a lot of uses for something a greenbeard like me looks on the surface level as "oh bigger sticky grenade, cool." Thank you for these vids, one of the most high quality content the drg community has to offer! Especially the lok1, betc and builds. So much variety and i love they're playable as mods for the game. Looking forward to your next videos!

Fun fact on Shredders on Industrial Sabotage: If you're lucky enough, you might be able to see a package of them get sent along the cables to a group of players. Once the package reaches said location, it pops open and unleashes Shredders. It seems to target a specific Dwarf at random as I have seen a package fly by me once and stop later to drop of some Shredders elsewhere where a teammate was

I know that the elf theory is just a theory... A GAME THE- But it does make sense, if you look at DRG as a scifi interpretation of classic fantasy... Which it is... - "Rivals" of Dwarves - Technology is more sophisticated in looks and has more finesse, as opposed to dwarven practical, rough and sometimes duct-taped together - Isolationistic and refuse to communicate with others (Implied sense of superiority) - Do not get their hands dirty, prefering to send unmanned drones - The dichotomy between Send in manual laborers/Use remote drones is similar in philosophy to classic fantasy Dwarf physical/Elf magical - (Bonus about the technobabble) their "Specially constructed steel" could be a nod to Mythril or Elven steel They're very obviously elves, or at least "Precursors", a sci-fi archetype that is often based on elves

Thank you Siirvend. Back when my beard was green I'd use all the driller nades, willing to experiment and find the best situations for each. As time grew on, and hours went from tens to hundreds, I became disillusioned, adopting the motto of axe supremacy. I'd fall back on their ease of use and complementation to driller's kit at large, believing them to be the only worthwhile grenade no matter the build. While that may potentially still be true, you have inspired me to return to my roots and really try out the other options again. Don't get it mixed up though, I just want more ways to kill scout.

Stickies are a godsend when paired with a weakpoint DPS secondary. one sticky on a praetorian will usually force it to show its ass letting you magdump your BRT or bulldog. I've heard a lot of people complain about stickies being bad since they try to use it for swarm clear and the grunt they stick it to just runs away from the pack and dies alone, but the fear stat makes it one of Gunner's most powerful imo

What I like about the Weed is that if it’s in a closed off or some other convenient spot you can just leave it alone and come back later when you’re more prepared. You can do this especially if you already destroyed the healing pods or if it can’t heal any further anyway.

Plot twist: The Automatons from Helldivers 2 are the Rivals. They sent an exploratory mission to Hoxes to find a specific kind of resource to help them fight Super Earth. Eventually, one of their prospectors will find it, and the Dwarves will have to fight to prevent the Rivals machines from sending a rocket off of Hoxxes with the data.

I just wish to understand how their weapons so flawlessly avoid the ire of Hoxxian wildlife… I wonder if it’s something to do with manufactured pheromones, possibly chemically bonded with the machine lubricants and coolants they use, combined with advanced targeting protocols… I mean… their weapons can’t be calibrated to *not harm* Hoxxian wildlife, even if it hits, because hijacking one allows it to fire upon the bugs. It’s… weird that they’re able to do this, especially because it implies they’ve done it before.

It does feel like we were just at the tip of the iceberg with the rivals. The fact that some other faction sent these bots purposely to scope out the area makes me think it's not the end of things. The rockpox might be an accidental thing in comparison. I don't think the rivals anticipated this inorganic consuming virus would appear and why they went deeper. Can you imagine what kind of shit would happen if that virus gets into their circuits? I don't want shredder with rockpox swarming us dwarves. And this does make me wonder with this new update. The new crawlers are said to be DEEP in Hoxxes. Deeper then we ever thought. And if the rivals went deeper, will we see more bots in Rogue Core? What are we about to find that might explain the weirdness of the planet and possible residents? Cause ain't no way these bugs missed out on some humanoid entity and not try to wipe them out.
