Quick Update: So I started using the Special Power Overclock on the boomstick for the first build. Its just a straight improvement. The added mobility takes almost no damage or ignition potential from that build! It still does the exact same job with a little more utility in the mix. If you got it, use it.

You can also change Phosphorus for fear on t5, your shots will do more damage and you still have the 30% stun proc to follow up with the G2k BoM. Try boomstick 11132 special powder, if you stun and fear a Praetorian he s immobilized for 5seconds+the time he takes to run 10 meters after the stun wears off

You already need to shoot twice to make them catch fire, with this you shoot twice get a 60% chance to 5s stun, almost 100% chance to fear and 50%dmg bonus for removing Phosphorus

For some reason, when using the M1000 with dreads, my brain switches off. I can nail every shot against the armoured phase, but when it breaks off, my aim goes to 0.

I feel the same but with mactera. I can hit any focus shot on mactera, no matter whats happening but I miss 3 shots trying to hit a grunt in the mouth while its running at me

Occupational Safety and Health Administration, they basically tell you how to do your job because apparently you don't know how.

Personal fav for the boomstick: Maximized ammo + improved area damage + fire Super ammo efficient, pops most grunts in one hit. Satisfying to use.

Might as well share my untouchable-scout build while i'm here! Deepcore GK2: 2 2 2 3 1, with the AI stability overclock. Jury-Rigged Boomstick: 1 1 2 3 1, with special powder. I also run with field medic for fast teamressing, and cryo grenades to INSTANTLY kill breeders. The goal of the build is to always be on the move and LITERALLY become _untouchable._ With the gk2 you can get a kill super fast with high accuracy and by doing so activating battle frenzy, making your run speed insanely fast. This is to complement the downtime of firing the boomstick to propel yourself wherever you need to go to survive. By equipping auto-reload on the shotgun you can chain battle-frenzy into the auto reload and instantly rocket yourself away to a better position after you've stood your ground with the gk2. The goal is not offense, but always surviving so that you're always the last survivor in case you need to res your teammates. I've had games where everyone dies constantly so i've had to res 30 TIMES, until we get out of a really bad sticky situation. Never relent, never give up, gotta go fast and gotta win! *ROCK AND STONE!*

Wow, you're rocking a near identical build to my favourite! Mine has: Gk2: 2 2 3 3 1 Boomstick: 1 2 3 1 2 With same overclocks, freeze grenade and Born ready perk instead of individual weapon mods for auto reload. Great build for utilizing the mobility of a scout to the fullest. Too bad the effectiveness drops off with the team's experience; if you happen to find yourself in a team full of absolute veterans they rarely need that revive. But fun is fun! Rock & Stone brother!

I essentially run this, but instead i bring the Hover Overclock on the M1000 inorder to prevent fall damage and/or recover the grappling hook before even landing.

Every time I get my hands on a new scout OC, this is the first place I come to look for efficient builds. Well done.

Beautiful, looking forward to more builds in the future

Just recently promoted for the first time and got a few OCs and this and the driller video were my first few videos/guides I got to watch on drg ^^ very helpful, and I can't wait o try them when I get the OCs for them!

The new weapons that just came out are really fun. I'm loving the Plasma Carbine, and with the plasma splash mod, it makes a wonderful weapon for getting hits on things that are otherwise hard to hit from a distance, like Fester Fleas, Swarmers, and Naedocytes. Plus, it's just REALLY satisfying to shoot. I suggest pairing it with a damage-focused secondary weapon, however. I found that you'll lay on the trigger for quite a while to pump damage into anything large. And even with 1050 rounds with the higher capacity battery, you''ll go through a LOT of rounds trying to knock out anything like a Praetorian, even if you Cryo it.

Awesome builds, just picked up the game and gonna run these when I get a chance!

Thanks man! You'll start to get Overclocks after the first promotion so just get your first 2 weapons maxed out until you get one!

Fun fact the ai stability over clock can work with the accuracy mod. What it does is it makes your spread actually 0. Without it, you have a little spread. This turns the gk2 into a literal lazer.

Here's a neat tip I picked up: If you hold E (or whatever the button is to grab a zipline) you will grab it every time, this also works for grinding on pipes.

I'm disappointed that there was no builds that paired the M1000 with the Boomstick...

Yet again another solid and really interesting video showcasing a class that I'm not too fond of but would like to get a better understanding of just one question this time, I notice a running theme in your videos that you seem to match weapons together (starting with starting & unlockable with unlockable) is this because you feel the weapons are designed to work in that tandem or because you've yet to find any good builds that combine them together so for example using the deepcore with the zhukov?

Hey man! Thanks! To answer your question, I definitely think in most circumstances the weapons are designed to work together but there are some builds that defy that convention. The Scouts weapons kinda have a automatic/single shot dps thing going on and doing something like M1000 plus boomstick feels kinda redundant. Thats why all these builds use the repective weapons because they fill a niche that the other lacks. Mostly preference though, not that using any combination is particularly "bad" by any means. Im a very flavor over meta kind of guy too I guess. One build thats not in this video that does something different is one that uses Electrifying Reload on the GK2 and Conductive Bullets on the Zhukovs. Normally having two high rate of fire guns would be too samey to justify but the extra electricity damage on the secondary with the crowd control slow from the GK2 make it really nice to use.

Love using the Zhukov’s Embedded Detonators post buff, dont think they’re very good (like haz 5 level), but they’re certainly very fun to use if you can get consistent weakspot shots in

I really want to love supercooled chamber, but it's near useless even against dreadnaughts. The DPS increase is negligible because it almost halves focus shots. meh. The fact that hipfire can pump out the shots way faster makes those builds rather reliable against dreads anyways.

the supercooling chamber m1000 build is my absolute favorite for scout. i love using the nuk's as my primary, then pulling out my railgun to delete a warden from across a cavern.

There's something so satisfying about killing wardens specifically too. I think its the way the bulb explodes in one shot.

My favourite scout build is the M1000 with hover clock and the boomstick with special powder, it’s not the strongest but it is so much fun to fly around caves and be able to shoot enemies before landing

I've never used the special powder for a long time, but once I tried it my tf2 soldier rocket jumping brain awakened and I never went back to normal again. The need for speed is too much.

I too had the same feeling, I'm willing to give up the slight damage boost from other OCs for that instant escape

Call me a greenbeard. But I use the Deepcore GK2, alongside a clean magazine overclock. Upgrades are focused on: Ammo, fire rate and mag size. I turn it into a full assault rifle. And the Jury with the double barrel. I’ve made my loadout literally just multiplayer PVP weapons. Assault rifle and shotgun. But it works, it’s satisfying to shoot the GK2. And the jury can banish praetorians into the dirt of Hoxxes! (Literally. Since I use the fire damage upgrade for it.) It’s insanely cheap, fun but also useful. My friends tell me that the hipster M1000 is irresistible and irreplaceable. I tell ‘em to lay off the Smart stout and let me use my weapons. After all - the most important part is If you can kill the bugs.

Hey if it works for you it works for you, doesn't matter how complicated we'd extra the OCs are. Definitely try new stuff out if you haven't but if you like the GK2 then go for it.

Interestingly, I find a lot of the intuitions I had while building my scout with these builds. Supercooling Chamber is the bossfight overclock, cryo minelets + blowthrough rounds is love. I was just massively fucking up a few details due to lacking A LOT of the overclocks that REALLY make these builds come to life, like misunderstanding that AI stability engine is NOT a bosshunting overclock. I will treasure this guide, it gave me a really good idea of what my next Scout objectives are.

Would you consider making a guide to perks you use while using these builds? I'm at the point where I can see the synergy of builds but I can't quite get my head around which perks are useful in my precious 3+2 slots.

Definitely. The only reason I didn't mention then with the builds is because nine times out of ten, I feel like warbubgs, mission types and biomes have a lot more sway on what perks you should choose.

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I've got a build that absolutely melts dreads. It does suffer heavily in the crowd control department though, so you may have to rely on BOSCO or your teammates for that. M1000 Classic - 2 1 1 2 3, Supercooling Chamber unstable OC Zhukov Nuk17 - 1 1 2 3 2, Embedded Detonators unstable OC Born Ready and Thorns, other perks are whatever you're comfortable with. This build focuses on the focus shot damage of the M1000, with +250% focus shot damage with a base of 65, though it does run a bit low on ammo. The Zhukovs rely less on flat damage but make up for it with the embedded detonators which trigger when you reload, doing massive amounts of damage. The Zhukovs' rate of fire and ammo capacity is manageable and can help with swarms in a pinch, but don't shoot any bug more than a couple of times since the embedded detonators will handle the rest. With this build, it's good to get the dread's shield down with the M1000, and once the weakspot is exposed, load it with the detonators for heavy damage. I've been able to do 1/3 of the dread's health in a single clip because of the embedded detonators. It is rather similar to the dreadnought killer build in the video, but it seems to me that the damage output it higher against the dread itself.

I too started using embedded dets a month or so ago! I overlooked the OC until it got those few changes over the last year and wow is it good.

This needs to be updated

Cryo minelets+blowthrough is something I haven't considered, seems really fun! But it is SO hard to give up special powder.

It is fun! Being able to freeze a praetorian by yourself as scout is a godsend, let alone being able to seize up most of a swarm.

I used to use the electricity build with the m1000/zhukov's, but I found the electricity charge shots to just end up being redundant. Any enemy that you should put the time into charge shotting is an enemy that you should be using the m1000 to kill, not the smgs. Yes, there's the ifg to do that for small enemies, and then the smgs really shine, but the m1000 really doesn't contribute that much, and I'd say you're better off without that overclock and taking stun shots for essentially the same upside the overclock allowed.

I get your point, though I use the M1000 to kill most of the regular sized enemies and save the electrified charge shots exclusively for bit enemies like praetorians and goobombers where IFGs would be kind of a waste.

I'm sure it would work fine too, just for different situations. The cyro minelets offer more widespread CC while giving up immediate stuns.

@@aquapotato.. True but that actually changed after this video with the adjustments GSG made to the m1ks base damage numbers. If I redid these builds I might change that for the dreadnought build but to be honest I like popping frozen bugs with hipster far more than clicking rapidly to output damage lol

It does have higher DPS than the supercooling chamber M1k but it also requires you to get up close and in the danger zone more often. It also suffers from ammo scarcity a bit more in my experience so its definitely a trade off for what kind of problems you want to deal with. Also, thanks a lot man! Cant wait to make more of these!

I've been doing calculations. As much as I love, love, **love** focus firing, it pains me to say that hip fire has a greater damage rate. Scout puts himself as such risk when using focus fire has a primary means of damage. Slowing down, overkilling, & tunnel vision. Even when optimizing for the absolute (best overclocks are between Active Stability System & Supercooling Chamber), the raw firing speed of hip means it has a higher burst & sustained DPS. Since focus fire's attack speed is inhibited both by the 0.25-sec firing speed **AND** focus charge time, it's, unfortunately, worse off. If only focus charge time was independent of firing speed...

Aside from dps, I often enjoy using focus shots for stun utility or to apply the electrical effect in the second build. Vs an enemy that's exposed and easy to shoot hip fire does win out but focus shots double up on a single shot pretty quickly, ensuring I get both shots in on the target rather than one and missing the other. Most bugs that are in my face will die to a single charge shot or at least he halted so I use them as a "woah back up there buddy" button

​@@siirvend I would agree. There is nothing such as the satisfaction of one-shotting a line of grunts. focus firing allows players to aim better even without the "Better Weight Balance" upgrade. Even after realizing focus fire is worse than hip, I still gravitate towards the style. A focus fire M1000 is still able to match up against other primaries.

You kind of ruined the customisation for me with your DRG builds videos, now I really want to try all of these but I'm bankrupt and haven't even promoted anyone yet But man these look all so fun, though I've seen some few interesting builds around, like a No Accuracy-Neurotoxin-Thunderhead build for Gunner
