This is so helpful for me, thank you !!!
Just had posterior. Everything going well at 7 weeks. Great surgery. Want to point out one precaution that I think is Bull Crap. "Crossing the unaffected leg over the effected leg. NO? I don't think so. It has nothing ergonomically connected to the surgery. The affected leg remains completely straight and the unaffected leg simply crosses over the ankle of the affected leg for comfort. It does nothing. No issues for me. But they sold me on a major NO NO to do that. Have to say again, it's just me. I did it. No problems.
Would have been much more useful if the movements to be avoided were actually demonstrated
Awesome thank you so much! Good content
FANTASTIC

Thanks for Watching! I hope this video is helpful
Hey thanks for watching! What are some other things to consider when comparing PNF vs NDT? Which approach do you like to use?
Thank you for all your videos I passed NBCOT OTR exam on my first try with your knowledge! I subscribed and liked this video and am so grateful for all the info you share with us all 🤩
That is awesome! Congrats on that incredible accomplishment and thank you so much for sharing your thoughts regarding the videos that I make. I am happy to hear they are helpful!
Thanks Arno !! I love all of these. As a therapist with ADHD I wanted to add a few extra tips that helped me: body-doubling !! Which meant definitely having a study partner to study with and beside. I also got myself to the same coffee shop 3 days a week for 4 weeks, as the activity around me helped serve as another type of body doubling (helped me not to stop studying). Also I primarily focussed on the TherapyEd book as my primary resource, and highlighted sections after I went through them, to help me identify materials I already touched (decreased the cognitive load needed to figure out where to pick up). I also made sure not to make flash cards for EVERYTHING- just the memorizable data bytes
Thanks for watching! Happy studying for those of you preparing for the NBCOT
Really informative!

My pleasure! Happy studying:)
Thank you for making an informative video! Can you make a video on the Correlation coefficient or research terminology?
What a great topic suggestion! My research terminology is rusty so it a great chance for me to refresh my knowledge
I'm an OTA transitioning into a coaching role and just signed up for Carlyn's Practical ACT for OTs Course starting March 1, 2024. Looking forward to it!
Awesome! Caryn is great. I am sure it will be an awesome course!!
I am super curious to hear how an OT uses ACT
I would highly recommend the books mentioned in the interview and any of Carlyn’s content. ACT is one of the great psychological approaches/ tools that OTs can use to help people take action towards occupational goals.
I am getting anterior hop in a few weeks. I was told no precautions.
Always follow your surgeons instructions. Many do not use prescribe precautions:)
Can you make a video for PNF vs NDT approach?
I like that idea!
Thank you so much!
Thank you for watching!
Very helpful thank you from egypt
Thanks for watching!
Hello ,,u r videos are knowledgeable...keep it up
Thanks!
How can I practice this theoretical knowledge into clinical practice, I’ve always had trouble finding the adaptive way to do that
Thank you! This is very helpful! I appreciate the demonstrations!
I’m glad it was helpful!
I’m excited to be hosting a practical ACT for OTs course in early 2024.
Love it!
Visual example would have helped me, this video did not
what is the best IX for stage 2?
Nicely done!!
AOTA's BCPR study modules brought me here! Way to go Arno :)
Small correction, to determine between AIS C vs D you only consider the muscles below the Neurological Level of Impairment (which is the lowest level with normal sensation and at least a 3/5 strength with all 5/5 above bilaterally). For example, if the NLI is at C8 then only 3 of the remaining 6 myotomes must have 3/5 strength in order to be considered AIS-D.

How long after Hip replacement do i need to follow these precautions? I had my posterior Hip replacement surgery 5 months back
Hey thanks for reaching out. I recommend following up with your physician for your specific situation or to look back at the information they provided post surgery. Generally speaking precautions are for the duration of the healing process.
Can you ask your professors what if the hip abductor wedge is not readily available? What can you use to substitute for the time being: rolled up towel, rolled pillow for transfers?
I really enjoy your content!! 🤩 started my OT studies last year and I find all your content so useful! Very pedagogical and easy to follow! I hope you will post more in the future! 🥰
Hey thanks so much for watching! Yes trying to get some more content out soon:)
The visual was fire🔥🔥🔥
Thank you!!
Hi it's my 76 day yesterday i met my doctor and he allowed me to up and down bed by my own and he also allow me to side sleep in both side i asked him to the pillow between legs and he said now no need to put pillow between your legs so my question is i put pillow between my legs or not?
Sir all these precautions are for lifetime or only for starting 2-3 months
I think it's for 2 to 3 months its my 76th day and my doctor allow me to sleep on both side nd no need to put pillow between the leg while sleeping but the 90 degree rule is still the same also my doctor allow me to get in and out bed my self its the second day i doing all the things by my self but its little bit painful nd stiffness too
@@rvcool2646 ok thanx but u r not sure about 90 degree rule that we hv to follow it for ever or we can bend our leg above than 90 degree after few months
@@tanusharma4164 i think after few months doctor will allow i had and accident nd broken my hip joint socket in july 23
@@tanusharma4164 when did your surgery was done?

Thank you so much! Much easier to study these for the NBCOT when you categorize them and give demonstrations!!
