Pardox updates on console always lags behind heck it took over a year for us to get an update pc had on Stellaris but they than rampped up production time to where we are few months behind dlc from pc.
frontage i think is more similar to naval combat width in EU4 than land combat width, with units having variable widths
Do not preorder
I would love to get an objective to raid / pillage, reducing the supply limit of provinces, in order to halt the advancement of enemy armies. Or to harass / skirmish so smaller stacks of enemy troops.
That would be cool
thank god its gonna be like eu4 and not vic3
Eu5 will most likely be the best paradox game to ever be made, and the modding ability/opportunity looks amazing
Mods are gonna be awesome, might even add Sicily content
No it will most likely be barebones compared to current EU4. You will have spend a minimum of 200€ before it will be even close..
they need to make it good the companies not doing great with their recent games. i also think johan wants a magnum opus before retirement.
@@azoniarnl3362 you havent wacthed the tinto talks thats ok
Johan Al Gaib
johan the savoir of paradox
Good to see people flipping their minds on him. He was getting a ton of hate around the release of Imperator, to the point they had to do massive culls of the community.
Johan is the difference between Paradox Interactive and Creative Assembly. The guy is a visionary, hit or miss the vision is always consistently there.
I just want republics
Next year!
Nothing ever happens.
Sadly seems true, I would have thought they announce something before next PC expansion is out but maybe not
3 months later still nothing happend 😢😢😢😢😢
Nothing ever happens.

You are so underrated
@@JohnDriscoll-l5m appreciate that! Glad you enjoy the videos
implementing a sort of linguistic engine (perhaps with AI) to have more dynamic names would be very cool
3 months later no updates game crashes
Thanks again!
I missed it Dang
You're pronouncing byzantine funny
Bizzzzentines
The failure part sounds like itll be interesting i hope there are some events connected to that(cant rememberr if they said there would be no events)
Looks like there will be
SulphurAeron said: On the failure of the expedition, how will the results of the exploration look like? 1. Is it an all-or-nothing approach, where the entire area is 'discovered' at once at the end of the project (i.e. the explorer returns home after doing the entire area and shares his maps 2. or will we have intermediary results (like once an entire province is finished within an area), sort of like EU4 currently? I can see both approaches work, and since explorers 'often' went back to resupply and get more men/provisions, an 'update' of the progess every while would feel more fun imo. Johan said: all or nothing
Let's goooooo
This is what base building should be in regular CK3. Except even Estates themselves look boring. There are no decisions and choices that make these building options... interesting.
Great stuff. This game took Civilization and made trade so much deeper and more complex.
I wish they would do a remaster of the old style graphics, the remake is ok but it just doesn't hit the same
Did you return to this game?
@@gumdeo I did a livestream recently!
@@Malforian I will check it out tomorrow ☺
@gumdeo nice! It's always on my games to play list I just not got round to another let's play style video since
Tried it because it was on the extra store. Seems like a fun game but mannnnnnn was it daunting getting thru all the windows and looking at tooltips. I think I took as many hours total to clear Annos campaign on console so it wasnt that bad but man six times pressing the o button to close a window only to go back into that window sure does suck alot of fun and make it a pain to play. Would be 500000 times more enjoyable to click create a title than scrolling all around with the dpad.
Great jolly music!
I liked playing as the Dutch for the trade bonus. Great game ☺
3:14 I think you mis-read him bro.
@@andrewyoung8550 thanks chap
thank you for understanding. im one of those that don't have a gamer pc. but I've been looking into GeForce now with steam games just because of ck3. on gamepass it's unsaveble after getting 25% of the map
Love this ❤
The only things I'm worried about is some of the focus tech feel a bit essential so like if you dont pick admin tech for your first focus, does that mean you can't hire mercenaries and or take out loans for the rest of the game? Or like claim fabrication is in diplo focus, can you just not fabricate claims for the rest of the game?
I would eat my shoes if fundamental basics of the game were locked out to you in that way. That would defeat the whole point of the system. It's likely connected to you giving loans not taking them, and likely just you being able to do it earlier, or more efficiently. Same with mercenaries, likely connected to improved cost/access/power, not the ability to hire mercs.
@@Leivve If it's earlier than I'm fine with that but Johan's words were saying you'd never get these techs again, ever, which implies you'd just be locked out of it hence my worry, considering some of these are fundamental mechanics
@@smirkyshadow4152 I highly doubt mercenaries, loans, and other basic mechanics that are core to the game are going to be locked behind ideas. You are picking between stuff like Deus Vult CB and anti piracy CB. Remember that the super majority of techs are generic, these are just the replacement for ideas groups. They are buffs to a specific dominion of play, not something they'd lick core features behind.
Honestly locking you out of techs is very good, from both a balance standpoint, and making the choice matter. If there was a way to just go back and get all the "best of" highlight techs, then it just becomes homogenous. It's also just a good way for nations to feel different. One campaign you are investing in early economy and colonization England, and a different playthrough you can focus on diplomacy and warfare to win the 100 years war, and try to dominate Europe.
The DLC that changed exploration and made it much better was El Dorado.
Getting to name the continents and regions and seas and rivers would be pretty cool.
Be great, maybe get historical option or name.yourself
Given how they talk about Banking families as a faction in EU5PC, I can see them having these Trade Companies as similar things
Beautiful thumbnail man
The map in EU4 is much bigger and granular North America is no exception.
Ngl, I’d like if you had to send explorers and you won’t get an update until they come back (there’s a chance they won’t.) You’d have to give them ships, supplies and money. Maybe on historical mode the AI is more likely to discover Africa and Brazil.
I like this system. Research systems are critical to the design of any GSG/4x. I think this one really fits the theming of the game, and will encourage players to interact with other game systems in a more engaging way than EU4’s “pay advisor, get points, hit button” system. Hahaha I like that there are tradeoffs to maximizing research gain by way of literacy’s side effects. Reforming a nation further behind on tech will likely mean having to hold of on blobbing, and vice versa. I wonder if this will tend to make it so the world outside of Europe is at a technological and/or resource disadvantage in a way that doesn’t rely on just putting a flat cost penalty to research on other tech groups, like EU4 at launch.
I would like see that the expeditions would have a limited supplies and they would randomly explore part of unknown world. The difference would be that in EU4 expedition can explore everything in its range at one run. With the limited supplies there may be needed to send multiple expeditions even to explore everything in the range.
This sounds like a Good idea, way better than the automatic discovery with no chance of failure in EU4. It would be great if expeditions failed so you sent more, and discover more with each successful expedition with events and even chains with cool stories
Imagine you give bunch of gold and sailors to explorer for finding america, and get a event saying he got drunk and arrived at Australia
Legends! That would be cool
It’d also be cool if different regions could have different names depending upon which culture found it. If the British found the Caribbean first… it wouldn’t be called the Caribbean
@@paytonknox4791 New Irelands
@@Malforian or West Indies, that’s what Brits called it
@@MalforianThe Antilles.
Great idea!
I would like a system where you can create your own colonial administrations, generating more varieties of American nations depending on which metropolises colonize America as a whole
I would be nice if it was somewhat like in Sid Mayers:Colonisation :) You earn when ships (manage to) return home and bring some goods/slaves etc
Such a good game!
I think everything you said is really good. I quite like the idea of just watching your navy dissapear and you won't really know if they'll come back
Hot take: I hope they make exploration manual
that's fair! im sure many would
I like sailing being manual, I dont like conquistador being manual and taking your armies, so ideally for me, conquistador wont take regiments
Used to be the case in EU4. It honestly becomes tedious pretty quickly as you can't even queue exploring seas not next to already explored seas so there's a lot of micro. You can already experience this in some way by exploring on land without using the "Hunt for the Seven Cities of Gold" mission.
My biggest problem is the fact that i can't scroll in the artifacts menu and the culture menus where i can't make a hybrid culture or scrolling in the list of artifacts
you can kinda see the mamluks flag on Karimi Merchants
That will do it then....need to brush up on my flags!
I think it's a good thing that there are decisions in the game that have consequences / that can't be undone just like that. (Administrative / Diplomatic / Military ). of course we'll see when it's published. Great Video !
