I’m here to help Podcasters | Streamers | KZreadrs find the right gear to record.
The rather ambitious name of "The PodcastMeister" pays homage to a radio show from when I was a child, that helped teens on the verge of getting to skid row turning back and find their way back to reality and common sense and ultimately to their homes and family through music that could not be heard on other radios combined with a loose hosting style. The host was the infamous “GarageMeister”.
I’m admittedly also a little less ambitious than that, but still, I want to help fellow starting podcasters find the gear they need to press that record button and make quality audio for their shows.

Thoughts? I see everyone saying you should set the Windows settings on the mic to 53-54%, which will be 0.0db (unity) for the Rodecaster. Then you can adjust the gain on the Rodecaster higher and it won’t be as noisy.
Amazing video
PLEASE HELP!!! I used a tt artisans prime lens on the sony zv-E10, and now when I switch back to kit lens, it wont work! It wont zoom, it wont autofocus and I cant even change the focus mode cos its just STUCK at manual focus!!! Any solutions???
Does this one have direct monitoring option for tracking music?
So I made a great purchase at Goodwill when I found the tascam for $40 minus power supply.i bought one online and it works like new. I think at this local Goodwill in the last year I've scored on 2 3D printers and 4 mixer boards and professional karaoke mixers.

I used to connect my Keyboard & microphone to the mixer & need to go for facebook live. As per your connectivity the sound comes to the phone is mono. Not stereo right? To prevent this issue can i use (spliter) 2x 6.5mm & 1 x 6.5 mm Connect 2x 6.5mm to Monitor out jacks of the mixer & 1 x 6.5mm to irig2?
Very informative thank you
Are there any latency issues with these digital mixers?
Thanks for your video, now I know why I am loosing this focus and making me headaches. thanks
dude! that was awesome! Thx so much for job)
Thank you soo much
Thank you for such clear and concise videos! They're great!
A couple of times I thought I was listening to Boba Fett
It works with iPhone 15 via USB now I believe. It works with my iPhone 15 Pro for sure.
Do you use a. Robot to record these animated type video transition things showing the hardware? It’s too perfect 😅
Great job Ty
This channel is a Gem
Great Vid !!
This was an awesome video - and I echo the resounding congratulations on your video presentation. I was confused (not about your video) but what someone else said about the custom mix minus being able to remove for example computer audio to the person you are chatting to. I didn't know whether that included recording? I may be getting them mixed up. Was hoping to livestream eventually and use videos from the computer that I can mute when livestreaming although I may be able to hear them through the headphones. Or have I got it completely wrong?
You‘ve got it completely right, that would be entirely possible (remove computer audio from livestream but still hear it through the headphones). What‘s being recorded is s completely separate mix, where you can include/exclude whichever channel you want (at whatever volume).
@@PodcastMeister thankyou I'm glad I got that right..lol. The problem is I have set these settings but in the recording and even when I speak to my husband through the rodecaster wifi on the phone - he is hearing back himself and the recording is still recording the video from the computer. So what other setting am I not configuring right. Would it have anything to do with the Prefader and Post fader settings?
@CreativeWebMedia12 it could be, if you were not completely excluding channels from a mix, only muted then by pulling down their fader: in this case, setting USB to pre-fader indeed counter effect your intention. If you however have made sure that the channel you have set for the communication app that you are using to call your husband as the audio input-output is either set to mix-minus in the routing menu or is completely excluded from the custom mix, the he should not hear himself. („Through the RØDECasters wifi“ is a little confusing - I could not really guess what you mean, but I assume bluetooth, not wifi) Either way, I would only set the SD Card recording to pre-fader (and bypassing processing), not the USB output, to avoid this.
@PodcastMeister thanks so much. As usual it turned out being something obvious like connecting zoom to Rodecaster. I have it up now. Appreciate your help very much.
Great video, thank you!
Your review is so good that I have pressed like - unlike and like once again <3 Amazing details description of all features. On point, no bullshit. Thank you for it! I found a lot of reviews from early adaptors complaining about problem with connecting StremerX to their computers. Can you confirm that?
I'm wondering if the headset input could be also used as line in?
Great overlook of an awesome product. Can’t wait to get my hands on one and try it out in my arcade streaming setup.
Very helpful, solved my problem! Thank you!
Face/eye AF works in 4k30fps 100/60m Just need face registration (page 11) and smartphone connection off , F/E AF still works in photo mode with smartphone connection on. tested on zve10 + Sigma18-50mm dc dn.
Nice review 👌 thankyou
My zve10 will go low light when I look away any tip
Nice video , keep going 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
For me, the DM8 wins. I also like the sound of the Blue Sona, but I don't like that it absolutely needs phantom power to operate. And I also like the sound options on the Dynacaster the best. I think the Dynacaster also works best as an instrument mic compared to the others. It's great on drums and on electric guitar cabinet.
6:45 this part I don't understand, so the bluetooth connected guest and zoom guest will not hear each other? I really don't get it, anyone help?
As long as you select Vocaster as the audio input and output in Zoom, everyone whose voice goes through the Vocaster will be heared in the Zoom call and they will also hear the Zoom guest. This can mean the microphone(s) plugged into the Vocaster, the bluetooth input and the 3.5mm TRRS input too.
Thank you for not letting me rush away and buy this haha. It's really still not there. The level of tinkering needed is too much even for a seasoned gadget freak like me. That screen and the intuitiveness of use is amazing, but it also feels as if the unit was worked on by teams on different "levels". Great great walkthrough, thanks for the video!
Very informative ❤
Thanks for the great video. In relation to the automix. How would it work if you were a few people (using the bigger device with 4 XLR)? Should it not just prioritise mics where the people are talking? If there’s crosstalk then sure the priority makes sense. But I wouldn’t want the priority 4 person to get less signal when they are the only one talking. Cheers.
On the bigger device you’d have 3 different priorities: low, medium and high. I did not have the chance yet to test it with the new firmware, but it is for sure not that sensitive or quick to allocate all gain to the speaker(s) - there are devices capable of this (the “Dugan”-automixers), but they cost several thousands. This one really is effective in case of cross-talk, and also not to pick up that much noise from the anyway less active participant(s), like breathing noises, etc.
Thank you so much, you are awesome!
Thank you!
great job! cheers
Excellent video! Thank you!
recording volume from my Rodecaster pro II is very low, does anyone know how to solve this?
Can I use Røde VideoMic Pro+ ?
Wow you nailed it my friend, very well presented
Oh you have a video abou ploy wave files that's nice. I am fairly experienced around Audio however all the advice I was finding online was just drag it into your software and it will read it… No nothing I opened it and could understand it but then again was I was dealing with a 32 channel recording and not a lot of Software handles that. and I think that something rather recent that everything has been upgraded to. It is useful for keeping all the tracks together in one file In a way helpful for the user rather than having 32 individual tracks files for every recording.
It's actually quite common to use the last channels as your audio output however most software is dumb and only expects to have two channels left and right. What most manufacturers do to get around this is give you a routing matrix or selectable modes. One of those selectable modes is 2 channel only mode. It's an annoying problem right now. Although I am using a XR18 which lets me route.
I will try and see how bluetooth works for phone calls if possible and surely get back to your great info 👍🏼🙏🏼
I want to monitorizing my musics in my daw with wireless headphones? Please help ;)
GREAT !! 🤩Thank you very much for this excellent hidden tip Meister! 👌🎙🌈
Awesome
Thank you, going to try this tomorrow 😁
19:30 basically they should've used two usb 3.1 ports instead of one 3.1 and one 2.0.
What’s the slight hissing noise from the go2 and how do you reduce that ?
