    Pricing Update: if you are in the US, the NTH-100M package (including the NTH-100 headphones and the NTH-Mic) sells for 189$ (instead of 150+60=210) which brings down the total cost with the AI micro to 270$. Unfortunately it does not apply in Europe. (Affiliate links are in the description should you choose to support the channel by purchasing through those)

    Awesome video, perfect timing. I have been looking for a headset to use with my Nux Mighty Plug Pro, though I have excellent headphones already for music track monitoring and mixing. Audio quality was inadequate in the gaming headsets I found, but when I found the Rode (already love the brand) I ordered it immediately (don't have it yet). After seeing a video that was mostly positive, but dissed the mic, I searched for more info on headset mics and found your video. I don't podcast, and don't (currently) intent to do so, but now I am WAY intrigued by the Rode AI Micro, and may well purchase one. Good job, and I learned more about podcasting to boot!

    Great video. Just bought the NTH-100 + microphone. Due to some weird pricing it was £40 to buy separately. Anyway, I would never have thought of using these with the AI-micro device. As you say, this expands the options considerably. Great channel, keep the informative videos coming.

    @@G2RMN I have the Rode Wireless ME. The transmitter just takes a TRS input, so I use it with a Lav mic. To use it with a headset it would need to support TRRS Input / Output which it sadly does not. I have used it directly plugged into my old phone, but my new phone does not have a TRRS socket. I do use it plugged into my Mac and it does work well, although slightly noisy. I feel it needs a windmuff.

    Wow, just discovered your channel, & already love it! I really like what you did to spice up the GUI examples, especially coming at them from different 3D angles - I've never seen that before and I thought it was brilliant 🙌 ..Can I ask if you use any specialist software/tool to achieve this effect? ..or is it simply a case of 5th-dan Black-Belt video editing skills with the usual suspects such as Final Cut or After Effects?? Re the Røde NTH-M I'm still confused how to get it's microphone source into a Rødecaster as the same time as using the headphones (for an ultra portable podcast studio) - but I'm guessing that's not what it's for, and therefore is not possible? Thank Again for a great channel - 100% easy subscribe 👍

    Hi Mark and thank you for the nice comment! Q1: for the editing I've used Final Cut Pro with the mCamRig plugin for the 3D animation effects. Surprisingly easy to use. Q2: You can absolutely use the NTH-100M headset with the RCP2 using the splitter cable shown in the video, but you need 2 more adapters. First, you need a Rode VXLR+ , which is a 3.5mm to XLR adapter, that also converts 48V phantom power down to 3-5V (the "plus" is really important at the end - not VXLR, but VXLR+) into which you can plug in the 3.5mm microphone plug of the splitter cable. That goes into one of the XLR inputs on the RCP2 and you need to switch on 48V phantom power (again, the VXLR+ will convert it down to 3-5V, which the headset needs). At the same time the headphone plug of the splitter cable goes into one of the headphone ports in the RCP2 (using a 1/8" to 1/4" headphone plug adapter) and there you go, you can talk and listen using the NTH-100M through the RCP2.

    I have a challenge for you or more less hoping you can help me with this hair pulling problem. The setup is a MBP with 2 Rode PodMic USB connected via USB running Rode Connect. The problem we are having is headphone connected to the PodMic USB can barely hear the other microphone input. I've cranked up the output slider and can barely hear the other mic. When turning up the gain that just pick up tons of background and boosting self mic but not much change to hearing the other mic. This is the first time I am testing multiple USB mics but so far it's terrible. Have you run into this?

    Would you recommend two of these for a podcast setup? If so, I'd assume you would need two VXLR+ converters.

  • @PodcastMeister

    @PodcastMeister

    Жыл бұрын

    You would need 2 VXLR+ converters indeed. Not sure if I would recommend two of these for a podcast setup due to their omnidirectional mic capsules: you’d probably have an issue with mic bleed, so one persons voice will likely be picked up by the others microphone too. It would work, but it will need post-production work to get rid of it.

    hi @PodcastMeister I've just bought these for podcasting to use with a Zoom PodTrak P4 but when I plug them in with the splitter all I get it a horrible buzzing noise. Any idea what is going wrong? Thanks.

  • @PodcastMeister

    @PodcastMeister

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi, to use it with the Podtrak P4, you’ll also need the Røde VXLR+ adapter/converter. You’d plug the mic-end of the splitter cable in the VXLR+, which (a) converts it to XLR, that you can plug into the P4’s mic input. You’ll need to add 48V phantom power to it as well, which (b) the VXLR+ converts down to 3-5V plug-in power, that the NTH-100M requires. You can the plug in the Headphone-end of the splitter cable to one of the P4’s headphone output and it should work well. Important that you use the VXLR+ (with “plus”!) as the standard VXLR will not convert 48V down to 3-5V.

    Main missing feature on ROADCASTER PRO II ----- to save different configurations so, to make it mobile. I need to save different states of the settings for different locations, different microphones combinations in other words SAVE SCENE.

  • @PodcastMeister

    Hi, you can save “Shows”, which is the same thing as saving scenes in other devices. It saves mic settings, channel setups, effects, smart pad configurations - essentially everything other tgan fader positions and headphone volumes as far as I can tell. You can even take it with you on an SD Card.

I get a feeling my two Octava mics are "gated" somehow - and I don't want to mess up something that's working really well. But I always like to tinker a bit more and get it 110% right..

    Hello, I just bought the NTH-100M to use as a host with the “Rodercaster pro 2”on channel 1, can someone help or advise as to why it isn’t working, the mic specifically isn’t working, if I turn up the fader on channel 1, there’s an unpleasant sound lol, thank you I used the included y adapter to send mic split to XLR channel 1 and headphone split to headphone 1

  • @PodcastMeister

    @PodcastMeister

    2 ай бұрын

    Hi, the mic requires plug-in power (3-5V) so you’ll need an extra adapter (the Røde VXLR+). It converts 48V phantom power down to 3-5V. So you’d plug in the 3.5mm mic-split into the Røde VXLR+, plug this adapter into channel 1, add 48V phantom power in the channel settings and your mic will work. Watch out for the “+” at the end of the ”VXLR+”. The plain “VXLR” adapter won’t work, you’ll need the “VXLR+”. (Or you can use my affiliate link for it under “Other audio gear” in the description 😉)
