You need more grounding between pd, pms and mobo for the reset issue
Thanks so much for this! I’m poor and always super late to gaming stuff so by the time I can do stuff it’s over saturated with awful totally not helpful “tutorials” or “upgrades” I either can’t do or don’t trust. (Don’t have internet and even if I did I don’t really trust relying on Wi-Fi for something like this.) Thanks so much for a followable, honest guide. I’m hoping to get a capture card (and possibly new 3ds) for Xmas this year and install it as a present to myself and it’s getting harder and harder to find install tutorials for the hard mod version like this.
N64 joystick was ALWAYS the worst
you really took 2 hours to do something that takes 10 minutes, you are.... i dont even know how to tell.
Currently troubleshooting my build… does anyone know where I could find the discord?
i wish there was a bluetooth receiver that you could put in the memory car slot of the original duke controller to be able to play on pc wireless with it
This is exciting, along with the PPUdigitizer and LumaCode there is beginning to be more options for RGB out of the NES, drives innovation!
Does the lava rgb kit include any ports for video out? Or do I need to get a genesis 2/Saturn/snes style connector separately to use this at all?
Clean setup, thanks for sharing. :)
do dope
I am genuinely curious who comes up with this!? I mean, I've completed an old PS1 mod back in 2000 and it was just a bunch of wires to a chip. this is freaking insane.
This will help do I need the one with optical or will the ps3 work fine with the Astro mixamp once hdcp is stripped?
at this point it's easier to just buy a Hunter wireless controller
Looks like a pain in the butt lol
Haha so far, yes. Those RGB amp chips are crusty
sucks u9 1080p one you said don't get is cheaper now then the 4K one by like 10 bucks as a regular price for me if it works ima keep it but waiting till i get the 1080p one wanna get the 4K one just for the ports on the back but no point of spending more on a 4K one and im not needing 4K but if 1080p was more expensive then yea 4K it is
Does the SD card need to be formatted FAB32 or can it be anything?
Why did 8bitdo not make a black dongle for PS2?
BRX is "only" $50 .. this is a joke, while I'd prefer to give money to the creator or original stuff in this case I'll prefer to give it for a cheap clone
Yea, I’m a little surprised with the price, but other similar adapters will cost you $40+
I prefer ultimatemisters BliSTer for USB, just way more simpler. Also works with LLAPI cores if you are in to that.
ligitamly don't wreck a ds for the gba mod. Dumbest thing we saw ever.
If it makes you feel any better, nothing was permanently damaged. The digitizer can go back on, and the screen flex connector was removed in one piece
They need to make a housing more strong for the hole DS. a metal one.
Agreed, I bet those hinge problems were pretty common. I would like to make one working DS lite from the leftover parts of the two I have now
one dudes ds indead has a broken hing. Even with the new housing. it happen again. Maybe something metal housing that won't break.
make one that plays ripped cd's or even act as a disk emulator via usb with this? That would be better.
will this still have the same rebind and customization capabilities as the other blue retro devices. If so this will be a game changer as I have been looking for a device for OG Xbox that has that kind of flexibility
It’s running blue retro so I expect it does
Any info on release date?
Preorders start July 12th but they won’t ship until later this year
I'm glad I pulled this up. I did a macro mod with Helders Audio PCB and a boxy pixel case. I thought I had messed something up since the first time I assembled it. I jammed the audio slider, and was worried because after i fixed it I didn't want bring the audio over 1/3.
GenX gamers= i finally got an OSSC 7.1 as a surprise gift from wife. ~Reason= i no longer want to have the 55" Samsung 1080p Component FlatPanel in The Game Cave.. I thre away the SOny Trintron Wega(180 Akward LBS) TO THE POINT= I don't think the OSSC looks better then Component Cables (PSYCLONES) str8 to PS2... Wife said the words don't look as bloody/drippy on the OSSC.. ~SO SHE ASKED THE QUESTION= Is it suppose dto make it HD or just a high quality converter to HDMI.. The OSSC for sure is smaller then a monster Samsung TV(That i paid $1200 in 2013) Here's what the OSSC destroyed in quality. It destroyed those simple cheesy converters that are $15 bucks on ebay. ~It destroys the $60 dollar upgraded model ~Lastly it 100% is superirior to the Backwards PS3. I accidentally bought the garbage backwards PS3 EMULATOR MODEL. Not the god level Emotion CHip that people rave about.. ~~So i can't compare ossc to EMotion chip PS3 for PS2 quality.... ~I did hook up two PS2's on sep TV.s both on start screen of NHL 2002 Here's wher ei have a important question.. I never bothered even putting batteries into the OSSC remote cause it sounded stupid to me. Until i learned that all the settings are there. I don't need a profile for this/that setting.. IS THERE A QUALITY BUTTON ONLY THE REMOTE CAN TOGGLE ON??? My Bottom line is The OSSC is great for someone wanting quality and to save space.. But if you have the room i would say Those 1080[ flat panel with component are the way to go for OG Xbox,, PS2,,Wii.. Obviously you are assed-out for N64 and older games.... ~~I hope we GenX live to see super HD quality where all the pixels are cleaned up and the only limitation is the actual models that can't be changed... ~Who has seen videos of the 1st Legend of Zelda fan remaster that makes it look amazing.. This is my goal one day... If anyone took the time to read my awful writing Does the Retrotink offer higher quality or is it to minimum to be worth it.. I admit im not into tinkering for a tiny upgrade.
Turn OFF Interpolation for the sharpest image .

Neat project, but why does it require an expensive FPGA instead of a cheap Pi Zero, Atmega, Arduino, etc? It seems like a project just to market the "Spartan-Edge" more than anything else, but maybe there is some very specific reason it requires an FPGA that I am not aware of. BTW, I understand this is not necessarily a question for the youtuber, just a general question about the project.
Sarooo
I want to get started building one of these with one modification, that being the ability to output to a tv. Does anyone know how possible that’d be for a first build?
Will this pair and connect with Mac/Apple products?
1:53:54. I had this same issue too! Thank you for showing the fix
Holy Mother! 🕶 What an astonishing good work I'm seeing here ♥ ty
The pms2 isn’t in production anymore, do I still need a sd to usb adapter?
They replaced it with the PMS3, I have one and I’ve been meaning to upgrade my Ashida to it because it charges the Ashida faster than it drains the battery
I cringed at the toilet paper :( Rest was great, I use coffee filters. No fibers etc left over. I know this is 3 years later, but for anyone else lol. (I also LOVE that kit for cleaning thermalpaste, I use it all the time. If I don't have it 91% works great for other people that might be reading this)
Iwaslateagain:(
It’s “8bit DOO”, not “dough”.
Has anybody even got an email back? I've signed up right when they announced it with two different email addresses and still nothing 😂 .going on months now
Last i checked the website wasn't even up anymore...
I'm using the PMS PD 3 for this, which doesn't have a PW pad. Will that matter?
So, in theory, kester's RMA 285, since it's midly activated it should do it less if not at all. I'm going to put it to the test soon to confirm, although I don't have a feeder, but based on the information I have a few different flux types of kester's solder spools to do a mini shootout.
I was reading that the reason why some solder flux tends to spit is due to 2 reasons. The first being the pressure built up from being within the core which is why some people use solder feeders ( I actually just learned this a few minutes ago today!) The feeder cuts a "v" shape groove which helps to release the pressure build up but as a caveat only use what you need because solder cannot be stored for long periods of time since the air will contaminate the flux. My guess causing it to evap the alcohol content as well cause the metal from the solder to rust. Reason #2 being that the activity of the flux being strong. So since you mentioned you use kester which is great stuff I'm going to take a guess you are using the "44" line which is RA flux (Rosin Activated) I'm sure you already know this but writing it for the rookies or people who may not know, it is the strongest type of flux. It is said that when the heat reacts with the flux it causes it to spit since it is aggressive, and I can co-sign because it always happens to me while using the 63/37 44 configuration. Excellent video always look forward to Nes mods and it would be cool to see you partnered up with bonzo he's also a cool guy. If any soldering pros out there that see this info and would like to correct it if anything is wrong or would like to add more, feel free. I'm all for learning more!
Anyone know where I can get a guide for a model 1 VA4?
Anyone know where I can get a guide for a model 1 VA4?
I think a white pcb would looked cleaner with the clear shell controllers
Seriously, so incredibly helpful. I love that you included even your mistakes in there. It's a process for all of us and that's one of the best ways to learn. Thanks for your effort and all of the time that must have gone into this!
but what if I want to play on a crt tv
In picoboot we don't have start menu!
