Nice finds, Sean. Those "Memories" albums were my introduction to post-1972 Elvis and I still prefer many of those undubbed versions. Elvis in Demand is a fine collection. It's hard to imagine now how thrilling it must have been for British fans to have all those songs suddenly available again on one LP.

Such a haul! Congrats 👌🏼 I couldn’t agree more with you on the messing with Elvis music... I always pass on those type of releases. Don’t plan to purchase the RFO one even if the cover is such a stunner (oh yes it is indeed...I understand) and duets over his recordings? That’s a big no for me. The Guitar Man of 81...great cover too with Joe, cowboy style, gorgeous and... what on earth was Felton Jarvis thinking!? (or smoking😂) why the necessity of tampering with perfection? Go figure... Anyways, enjoy your collection and thanks for the videos!⚡️

I find it funny where singers/ groups are now playing Vegas just like Elvis did ,singers and groups are now selling there back catalogue etc and it's now the done thing . Yet Elvis especially after he died was put down for the "Vegas years" yet again though he was a trail blaster and set the standard .nearly everything that artists are doing today Elvis did first ... He did the first "moonwalk" in Viva Las Vegas during the singing of Viva Las Vegas , first major star to sell out Vegas and have a residence, first to sell his catalogue (5 million back in the day was a lot of money) and the first white artist to show case black music

(14:37) I agree with you, Sean, about this album on all points 🤝 But his cover is really one of the most impeccably stylish, just fire. And the song "And the Grass Won't Pay No Mind" is one of the top tops of my favorites 😊 (regarding the equally comprehensively stylish design - Too Much Monkey Business 2-LP Limited Edition from FTD, 2017 - in my opinion, it also satisfies the brain with its perfection 👌 And you probably have this album 😁) 🔥🧠🔥 👁 👁 🍷

Hey Dina, I don't have that one actually, I only have 2 FTD vinyls as I'm late to the party, and they're way too expensive for me now. I agree that the cover design is great on that one, but I just don't agree with anyone trying to add new backing to Elvis's music, for me it will never work. Yeah, there does come a point where you have to realise you can't have everything, and not all at once. My problem has been trying to make up for all the time I lost. I like the recent releases where they've stripped back the overdubs, I think that works well, and hopefully the Memphis set will continue that successful approach. It's when they try to add in new backing that it never works - they're not Elvis’s band and they weren't there in the studio with him, so it will never have the same feel, and feeling was what his music was all about. Mind you, to me, the Philharmonic releases aren't as bad as the disastrous Guitar Man album, or the horror that is Christmas Duets!

@@sincerelyelvispresley Wow! I wish I was back home in England! For many reasons, love of England, love of family, and records are so cheap too in England! For me, I have to add GST (Australian taxes) on top, plus international shipping! It can be as much as $200 (about £100). One day I will be home again. I nearly have every Elvis LP released in his lifetime! I think I just have 4 left from the 70s and I and I am always on the lookout to upgrade a certain album for less clicks/crackle. Most of my albums are just fine now! Maybe my weakest section is the original MONO 1950s albums - it’s really hard to find proper mono versions in great condition at a great price - however the original USA pressings are not too bad but I try to find newer mono versions to in perfect condition so I am always upgrading! I keep them in chronological order on the shelves. I have every Elvis movie too and a huge amount of documentaries and books too! Have you been to Graceland? I have what an experience to be in Memphis! I can’t believe you are well into your 50s! You certainly don’t seem it mate! It’s excellent that you have a wonderful caring wife! I am 52 myself, I can’t believe it, where have all the years gone? I still feel the same as when I was 22 ! I’m still searching for a nice lady myself. Perhaps I will find her when I am back home in England one day! All the best to you mate. Keep up the great videos! And keep listening to the King! Cheers, Vak…

Great channel mate, loving it here in Brisbane. An interesting point that i seen whilst watching Gates of Graceland with Angie was when she unpacked Elvis's opening show black 69 stage outfit she said that the top was the same top he wore under his black velvet jacket when he met Nixon over a year later. Ive checked the Nixon photos and it does look the same!! Anyway mate look forward to your next video👍👍🍺🍺⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡

Thanks so much, glad you're enjoying it 👍🏻 yes that's spot on, the whole outfit he wore was at an exhibition here at the O2 around 9 years ago. The black velvet jacket he wore over the top of it was from the nightclub segment of the 68 Special! By all accounts, he left Graceland in a hurry to go on the journey to the White House, so it seems he just grabbed various bits and pieces from his wardrobe that he thought would go together. Unless, of course, he'd spent time trying stuff on beforehand to see what was fitting for the occasion!

Some good recommendations there, Sean. I don’t suppose I’ve much chance of picking up that KJ 1969 book but I flicked through The Elvis Files for that period and it’s quite well covered (including the Honolulu holiday), so I guess I’ll have to wait until 69 comes around again to get the rest! I’ve decided to buy the 5 volumes of TTWII currently available as I think they’ll increase in value and I don’t want to pay £1200 to get them in the future. I have to say they spoiled us with the London exhibition. There are things there which weren’t on display in Memphis when I went last year. I did the curator event with Angie M and she let us handle so much stuff. Better than the VIP at Graceland. She also told me some interesting facts and was quite open. Of all the things, I couldn’t get over Elvis’ Chet Atkins Country Gentleman. I spent ages looking at it. For anyone that can’t afford to go to Memphis (and it’s understandable given the cost) the London exhibition is an incredible opportunity.

  • @sincerelyelvispresley

Thank you 👍🏻 there tends to be a fair bit of duplication in the Lorentzen books. I'll be having a look at that volume of the Elvis Files in a couple of weeks, and the TTWII sets a few weeks after that. Good choice on the purchase I reckon. I agree we were spoilt with the exhibition in London. I made it there in November to do the white glove experience, but I did think it was a bit unfair that they added the sunglasses in later, so you got a lesser experience just for going early

Hi Q wot do you clean your records with bud thanks

To be honest, I still haven't landed on a method I'm totally satisfied with. I have a cleaning kit by Vinyl Clear, which does an ok job, but could be better. I'll probably invest in a Spin Care MKII at some point, as I've heard pretty good things about them. I find static and trying to get rid of it is one of the biggest challenges. Do you have any cleaning recommendations?

Thank you my friend, yes I definitely struck lucky there. I won't make it back to that particular shop for a month or so, so hoping that the owner hasn't retired by then!

Wow!! What a birthday 🎉. They all look nice. I agree that gold sparkle is not so sparkly. I also found the UK christmas album but a 84 international label pressing. I really like those laminate UK covers. I only have one, Roustabout. Happy birthday!! Your wife sounds super just like mine. Cheers from America my friend. Juan

Happy birthday 🎂 Sean. Thanks again for showing off your Elvis vinyl LPs - what wonderful condition, such amazing gifts from your wife Sarah ❤ and such a bargain. Love your videos, well presented and informative 😊. I love it when Royal Mail, Amazon deliver Elvis records/cds/stamps to me too❤.

Cheers Paul 👍🏻 that made me chuckle 😃 I'm not doing too bad on the soundtracks. UK original of Clambake is proving a bit tricky to find in nice shape reasonably priced. That said, I saw 2 of them 'out in the wild' about a month before I began collecting again. Typical!
