omg when john started talking about the part where when he tries to tell his mother about things and she would say 'i knew you would say that, i know I'm a terrible parent' etc I got flashbacks from my own interactions with my mother lol the best part is that when i told my mother 'yeah, you kind of are', my brother took my mother's side and said he 'didn't like the way i spoke to our mother' even though he is sometimes also rude to her 🤡🤡🤡 it's so similar, down to the mother being one of the most successful siblings, the overbearing (abusive) grandfather etc
