  Ok video. What attracted me to this video is that I'm actively looking for a nee garage door. I have a 16' wide opening and an 8' wide opening. I want a true carriage door onnthe smaller opening that matches innlooks, a standard roll up door, but can't find that anywhere. Looking to have something made, but it would have to be wood, which here in Vegas, won't hold up. I also want a super insulated door. Anyone have an ideas? There has to be more than what I'm finding, available?

  I have one, high quality, very nice. I like seeing if I forgot to close the door. I wish I could get it to stop dinging my I phone every time I walk into my garage. Working in my garage is annoying because it messages me constantly😂

  There is not a lot to these machines, a motor, some gears, and a circuit board. If the issue seems to be electronic in nature it's most likely a board. And these run on low voltage so lighting in the area can often cause a power surge that can damage the board.

  I don't have anything technical, we are in the north east so we see all types of temperature, but rarely extreme hot or cold. Older springs are more likely to break in the cold. We see an uptick in broken springs that first zero degree week of the year.

  Probably have a broken spring...once you are sure it is disconnected from the opener you should be able to force the door up with a broken spring. You will be lifting the full weight of the door so it will be very heavy. You may need a few friends to help.

  I got a Raynor R170 from 94. The door closed but went to open it later on and when I press the button on the wall it makes a quick click by the motor and nothing happens. Same thing with the remote. It opens and closes manually. Would it be automatically locked, motor, or the circuit board?

  I would guess circuit board...I would make sure the outlet is good too, I have seen that with a bad outlet as well.

  Hi I have a 12 foot x 8 feet tall wooden garage door. I noticed that I have 2 springs that are not the same wire size would like to replace with two new one how do I know what springs I need I checked on Amazon not sure what size to get is the a chart .my door is heavier then steel doors.

  You need to find the weight of the door or measure the springs on there currently then you can work from there to figure out what springs you need. No charts exactly unless you can find a model and manufacturer, then you can call the manufacturer for spring sizes, but most wood door companies no longer exist.

  Not me personally but there were software issues on the early models. Supposedly if you connect to myQ it will automatically update the firmware.

  I bought a house with 2022 MyQ openers with wall paddle switches and 2 remotes for cars. Wanted to add an outdoor keypad I could just enter a pin to open one of them. Followed the Chamberlin MyQ instructions and lost everything as if I did a factory reset, which I didn’t. Perused the web and tried a few more manufacturer’s instructions and thought I might have to hire a professional. Decided to search web for videos ‘Step Saver MyQ’ and yours was first. In 3 minutes I was done and had everything restored. I can’t believe how poorly the manufacturer literature is written, it seems they use “garage door opener” interchangeably for the garage door opener head and the wall switch. Thanks. I will send a thank you if I figure out how. I seriously owe you.

  Can an opener just get weak with time… Mine is 22 years old; it opens a couple of feet, but then I need to help it physically. The springs look okay, and I have lubricated everything I can see.

  Springs can wear out over time they may still be intact but no longer strong enough for the job. It should not feel heavy if you operate the door by hand.

  Some doors come with an interior side lock that be pushed through a hole in the track to lock the door...if your door does not have one it can be added.

  You want the door to be the exact size of the opening. You will need to ask the manufacturer to make custom width doors or build the sides in to a size that's available.

  The. Way to know if the spring is broken is the one hand lift , if you can lift the door with only one hand the spring is fine but if you need both hands and is really heavy? The spring is broke. Thanks for the video

  If the machine won't take adjustment the limit module is bad...you can try taking it apart and cleaning the metal contacts inside that may get it to take adjustment...but at that point, we recommend a new machine if that has gone bad it's probably older and you can expect more issues with it.

  Half wasn't enough for me, 3/4 was the sweet spot. I had it worked on in November so it was set in the cold season. Had issues right after it warmed up in the spring. Good video

  Hello. The door opens all the way with the wall switch both up and down. Springs were replaced this summer. However, my 4 remotes, 3 with new batteries, do not register either to close the door or open the door. So, by deduction, there seems to be some difficulty with the signal receiver on the unit. If not that, then what might it be? BTW, it is a LiftMaster. PS. There is no sound from the motor when I use any of the remotes. All the lights on the remotes are blinking reflecting that it seems to be broadcasting but the unit is not receiving.

  You need to program your remote fob with the opener. When you changed the batteries it reset your fob. There are youtube videos on how to program your remote...super easy.

  I had replace the batteries in 3 of the 4 remotes. I tried to reset the remotes and the light blinked but none of the remotes worked even with new batteries. I followed online reset instructions and the links blinked accordingly but nothing. I suspect, based upon other videos that the circuit board is fried for receiving radio signals. I took it out and examined it and I didn't see anything but I am not sure what I'd be looking for. :-(

  Help please, I just installed a new genie garage door opener. Everything went smoothly. I was able to program the door up and down on the head unit itself. But when I programmed the wall button or tried to program the remotes, it will only open the garage door, but neither one of them will close the door. As in when you push the button, nothing happens, you can just hear a clicking sound. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  @@abdladigun6436 yes, I did fix this. So my issue was that I didn’t install the garage door sensors, the ones that you install at the bottom of the door to stop the door from closing if something passes through. I don’t have any small children or anything so I didn’t think I needed to install them but I found out with new garage door openers as a safety precaution they have to be installed and that fix the problem immediately. I don’t know if that helps…

  I had Genie car garage door opener installed in 2022 and worked well ; however, a mid year of 2023 it was closing just fine while opening go up sometime well and other time not up on the way ! I checked all sensors, remotes, and Spring… were still working and good condition! I call cả garage door opener expect who came in and made an adjustment on it and a few weeks later happened again! What’s wrong can you tell please ?
