    Artec makes good lipstick pickups that don't break the bank.

  • @ejnordberg
    @ejnordberg5 күн бұрын

    That also explains why lipstick pickups are three-wire. If they wanted to go really cheap, they could have settled with two wire (Hot and ground), but then series wiring would not be possible.

  • @ejnordberg
    @ejnordberg5 күн бұрын

    I wire my (bass) guitars in series. It provides a deeper tone. I really want a Danelectro bass, and I'm glad to learn they are wired in series. If they were wired in parallel, I suspect it would have a horribly thin sound. There is math to go with this, concerning how pickups as inductors create low pass or high pass circuits, depending on how the pickups are wired.

    I bought mine used right when they came out and being a John Mayer fan I was stoked to pay full retail for it because they were hard to get at the time. . Without the tax of course. Fortunately mine did not have any of the issues. Someone just didn’t do their job on yours. The other thing is the Silver Sky has its own sound and does not sound like a Strat. It just does not have the quack as they call it. I tried to put a Dimarzio single coil size in the bridge the other day and much to my surprise it didn’t fit . I wasn’t prepared to route out he pick guard. I do have to tell you I own 3 fender Strats and the Silver sky SE Plays better then all of them and the tremolo system really works. I just dont care for the Pickups. I’ve been buying from Sweetwater for years. They pride their self on service and I know they would take care of you if you called them. In the used market I have seen that same guitar for as low as $500 lately.

    @@2112musician Generally speaking, when someone just brings up Church or the fact that they're christian, I'm out of the conversation. He might have great videos but I'll never know. Just be a person who happens to be a Christian and never bring up Church or the fact that you claim to be a christian. I've found that people that do this do it because deep down they don't believe what they claim to believe. so, if they keep bringing it up all the time it somehow solidifies it into their being.

    I bought a pink one for CME. I bought it specifically to mod it, I went all out, more dollars than sense. I used Gibson mudbucker I’d been carrying sound since the mid 70s, in the middle I used a Fralin 52 Fender P bass and in bridge position it has a Lollar T-bird. I used a Badass bridge. No spacing issues. Gears are backwards turning Schallers. Strat Switching and push pull knobs gets every pickup choice. Wood needed to be added to the headstock to allow the tuning gears to fit. It’s an awesome bass, fun to play and very versatile. I play it through a B-15 clone loaded with a JBL D130, or a Vox AC-15 Mkii through a Foundation cab. Usually I just use my 64 Princeton. Great for recording. I’m 71 and I dont perform anymore but I still play as often as I’m able. Yours turned out nice. I’d love to send you a photo.
