Thanks a lot man! I fixed the same issue in the CP800 thanks to this, same issue, same split plastic arm, used superglue and some string to keep tension while the glue dries, will probably add a zip tie if the tolerances are right

Thanks so much for making this video. I recently pulled out my Selphy CP-760 which until now had been working just fine. After resolving a maddening issue with images not showing in the preview screen, then I found I was getting only half a print as seen in your video. I ended up having to fully disassemble my machine to actually see the split. If someone else goes down this path there's a lever arm on the PCB side of the printer that can rotate to release the metal rod. I ended up using JB Weld and some fine stainless steel safety wire to secure the nylon fitting to the rod. After reassembly, I was VERY disappointed to find it didn't work (blank prints). Took it apart again and made sure the fitting under the PCB was pushed down enough to engage with the drive gear. Success!. Disassembly/assembly the first time took a couple hours. Second time about 15 minutes (many tight ribbon cable connections).

Hi, Need some Help here. I printed some photo with this Canon Selphy cp510 printer using my laptop. The problem I am facing is, no matter what size I select it's printing SMALL size picture. I selected 4 x 6 inch from the laptop. The Photo paper was 7 x 4 inch But it's printed in the middle like 3 x 2 inch size. Why? I uploaded a video of it in my KZread channel as a Short, please have a look. I am unable to post a link as it will delete this message.

Thank you for video. I have CP1200 and it was same issue without the split. Gave a little pressure and it printed perfectly. Now to add a tiny drop of oil, hopefully it won’t happen again.

I wanted to print a Birthday Card today but my Selphy printer showed exactly this failure. I opened it up and yes the right lever had a very fine crack. Unfortunately it was located on the bottom side, so I continued to remove the pcb on the left side and find out that the gear rotates a shaft inside the metal tube. I was able to unhook the tube, remove the lever, superglue it, put it back on, mount the tube, strap a zip-tie and put everything together again. Electronically it worked but mechanically it did not. Something went wrong along the way, but I bet that's just bad handling/luck in my case. I'm not sad bc. its an old Selphy CP 720 which lasted for 15 years and it also had a problem with paper feed, so I guess that piece has reached its end of life. Thanks for the video, interesting and I'm sure many can be fixed.

Thank you, but for my situation, the plastic part didn't break, but if I forced it down when printing, it works at the first time. After the first one, the second one even press it very hard, it's not work.

Thank you for the video, I'd like to try but I would like to be sure I use the correct glue. Which one do you suggest? Also: the crack in the plastic is in the bottom part, not visible from the top. How do you suggest to glue it? Thanks!

Tired of Canon using shit parts in their photo printers. Both of my printers suffer from this same problem (one is much newer than the other).

Don’t know where you found the super skinny cable tie but even my tiniest is snagging the movement. I will try using some wire instead I think. Thanks for the excellent video tutorial 👍🏼

You do excellent repair on this. Have a CP900 Selphy which a fine vertical line appears on each print out. As read, might be dust. Do you know a way to clean best? Know this video is old, but thought I'd give it a try to ask.

Thanks! My Selphy had same problem but cracked on bottom where not visible. Not enough clearance for the zip tie, I had to Dremel a little metal away to make room but now it's back to 99% (still a 1/4" along elge where it's faint).

Hello, I have a similar problem for my nice CANON Selphy CP720. Do you know anybody who I can send the printer and get it repaired? If I open the printer and push the press on the paper, pictures are printed perfectly. I tried clamping on the shaft with a plastic strap but I was not able to fix it. unfortunately CANON support does not provide any part and any service for this model. Any help?
