The problem is society sometimes screws over the intelligent person making the intelligent person not be able to do their job. Thus eventually turning that intelligent person into a stupid person. And this really isn't about being smart or dumb, its about making a positive contribution to yourself and to society.

The Man with No Name/Blonde played by Eastwood was the good guy in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Tuco played by Wallach was the bandit but he was not the bad guy either. Angel Eyes played by Cleef was the bad guy. None of the three were stupid in my opinion. However, there were lots of stupid people in this movie notably the soldiers that died for a lost cause. It's an interesting analogy.

The current US administration is proof positive that collective stupidity is a contagion, as is Wokeness. The two are symbiotic in fact.

As a rule, we are ALL stupid in some cases, usually in new situations, at the same time, we are ALL usually wise after we screw up a time or two. Of course, there are those who prefer to screw things up, graffiti on memorials and broken windows.

Stupid people are so highly visible today. A guy who ran for president in 2016 told his followers that he "loves the poorly educated." This was a case of him calling them stupid, TO THEIR FACES. They responded to this by cheering, laughing, and celebrating. They voted for him. They bought his merch and even sent him money for no reason. Some even tried to overthrow the US government for him. Angry, violent, and stupid is no way to live. But they do everything they can to make themselves loud and highly visible.

This definition of STUPIDITY above requires the idea of Intelligence. But the example given does seems to convert results vs behavior into a measurement of STUPIDITY. Often Luck is involved in such a statistics for results. I would suggest a different measure. Intelligence is like IQ (but NOT the same!) , but Stupidity is unconnected to IQ. Stupidity : one who makes the same mistake 3 or 4 times, often consecutively , because that person does not use his brain to think. That person is motivated by false pride, or has emotional problems ; so they make the same mistake again and again. Example: A Stupid person belongs to Group_1 that feels themselves superior to Group_2 An Intelligent person realizes that other Groups include intelligent people too.

Great video. Explains why some voters in the US consistently side with ballot initiatives (and candidates) that provide no benefit to themselves or to others. The number of voters who will gladly enact a ban, wipe out a right, or restrict options for themselves to kick down at someone else is staggering. 😮

Scotland's SNP ruled government and it's supporters are really bad for that. They made low emission zones in the centre of the city of Glasgow and hundreds of their own vehicles fell foul of it and had to be scrapped. Smoking bans decimated the pub industry. The sugar taxes and alcohol taxes have pushed up the prices of a few simple pleasures for all of us, who were once trusted as being responsible for our own intake and it won't reduce the problems of alcoholism or obesity because if those people want those things, they're only going to reprioritise their spending habits, in order to still get them. The local SNP run government in West Lothian reduced all the speed limits in towns and villages from the 30mph, that it had been for years, to 20mph and replaced all the speed limit signs with brand new ones. Even though the 20mph speed limits had not been enshrined in law and were actually unenforceable! They just sat around a table and decided to do it, one day. Their thinking: 'well, some people are doing over 30, in the 30 zone, so maybe if we make the speed limit signs 20, and people break that limit, they will keep their driving under 30'. Truth was, lots of people in front of me were doing 20. It increased journey times, increased emissions, hampered deliveries and so hampered business. Oh, and increased public spending on new signs. There must not have been much of a public consultation, other than with other stupid people who were only too happy to take the hit and comply. Thankfully, after it was dropped on us from on high, like a bolt from the blue, some intelligent people must have banded together and took them to court, or something, because it lasted about 3 months and then all of the speed limit signs got put back to 30. A rare case of common sense triumphing over the self-flagellating stupidity of a devolved Scottish government, with 'wee man syndrome' always trying to look like 'the most progressive society in Europe' (which the UK voted to get out of, in a referendum, but the Scottish government would desperately love to rejoin). Modern, stupid, lefty politics sucks. It's crowds of stupid people imposing restrictions, losses and penalties on themselves and everybody else. The Scottish National Party are super nanny-state. Like a bunch of old fart and old granny fascists in cahoots with their totalitarian, revolutionary, grand-kids with ear expanders and blue hair.

That explains everyone who wants gun control. The gun control advocates are all top left, bottom left, or bottom right in the chart with the only ones receiving real benefit being the pillagers (criminals, and politicians).
