    Fantastic job, something to aspire to. Just one thing to point out (because it's obvious you care about correct detail) and it's something that's wrong on every Spitfire kit apart for the 1/32 Kotare ones - no rivets should be visible on the wing leading edges. They were filled and sanded at the factory during manufacture and before painting.

  • 17 сағат бұрын

    Thank you Phil, yes the rivets on the wing leading edge on the Spitfire could probably have been filled, but the question is if the putty remained on the rivets even after longer combat service. It was often the case on other aircrafts such as the Mustang that the putty fell off the rivets after some time and stress on the structure

  • @FinsburyPhil
    @FinsburyPhil17 сағат бұрын

    Yes possibly. Good question, but not something I've heard - I'll have to investigate! (Spitfire nerd).

  • 16 сағат бұрын

    Anyway I can observe this phenomenon of putty felling off the rivets even on some older airliners at the airport

    My wife & I visited friends in Tucson in October 2019 and rode by the boneyard everyday. The boneyard contains more aircraft than most countries Air Force. We went to the air museum and it had an amazing collection of vintage aircrafts.

    Yes, I was absolutely blown away by the aircraft boneyard in Tucson (there are more than 4 thousand aircraft) as well as the amazing nearby Pima Aviation Museum 🤩

    Incredible work! Might I ask what paint you use for the chipping on the wing root, which is surely the best I have seen in this scale...

  • 6 ай бұрын

    Hello, thank you, I used good quality thin brush and Agama metal paste for the chipping diluted by GSI Retarder Mild

  • @mancavemodelling5136
    @mancavemodelling51366 ай бұрын

    Thanks! I've never come across Agama products before - I don't think they're generally available in the UK - but I like the idea that you're painting a realistic metal rather than very unrealistic silver paint. I've use prismacolor pencils for chipping effects before, but I'll have to try this out (so long as I can get hold of some)...

    Dobrý den, nezvažoval jste zhotovit video točené kamerou? Úroveň zpracování Vašich modelů vysoce přesahuje standard, který je na YT k vidění a věřím, že by si to postupem času našlo více zájemců. Váš F4U je nejlépe zpracovaný, kterým jsem měl možnost vidět.

  • Жыл бұрын

  • @TomasFaktor
    @TomasFaktor Жыл бұрын

    @ Rozumím. Inu, rád si prohlédnu alespoň fotky a kdyby jste jednou našel čas na zpracování videa, pak budu jedině radši. Sleduji práce Davida Damka, Josefa Choreně a nyni i Vaše a upřímně se mi zdá, že čeští modeláři mají nejlépe zpracované makety. Proto ta myšlenka s videem.

    My favorite Russian planes of WWII were the IL-2, the Yak-9, the Pe-2 and the humble Po-2. This plane played a hudge role in turning back the tide in the air war in the East. Hindsight is 20 20 but I wish the Allies transfered more torpedo bombers like the Avenger and night fighters like the Black Widow and special operations planes like the Lyslander. Clear the shipping lanes, clear the night and drop agents and weapons to partisans.

    Beautiful plane, nice music. I wish there had been more hard data, but I can find that elsewhere. It kind of reminds me of an FW-190 around the nose, probably because both planes used radial engines and had those aerodynamically slick cowlings and airscrew spinners? I bet this bird gave the Luftwaffe a good run for its money.

    Could you please tell me exactly which engine that is?....I have the same kit and want an engine...the DB 601's are cheap and plentiful. But the Jump 213 it calls for is rare and expensive.....I don't care much about accuracy just a full engine that fits. Any suggestions?.... Ty

  • 3 жыл бұрын

    .. It's Jumo 213A-1 on the Fw-190D9 (I used Aires Detail set 1/48 on my model)..DB601 is a similar engine, but with some diferencies, I don't know exectly, try to find out some more details on the website please..
