    Good evening, I would love to ask for your help regarding the zipper sweater. I made it with no issues at all until it is time to pick up stitches for the zipper part. I find it rather confusing with the 24 stitches being picked up on left and right and then the knit up 1 stitch in a cast on and knit up 1 stitch in full stitch . I love challenging myself in my knits but this one I can’t seem to grasp 😢. Can you help? I would be so appreciative . Thank you !

    you always choose perfect patterns and yarn pairings for your garments. Love hearing and seeing the garment fixes. I am too lazy to go back and reknit but it is so satisfying to fix what isn't right and should be rewarded with new yarn!!!

Lovely to see your pattern choices, it makes it easier for me to prioritise my queue lol ! And for the yarn you are "desperately trying to use from stash" i say destash it/sell it on ravelry, instead of feeling like an obligation and time commitment !

    I love listening to how you modify the patterns to accommodate your gauge, body and personal preferences. Kudos!! The pattern to me is just one way making a particular garment. The knitter ultimately is in charge with their skills and you are showing those beautifully. 😊❤

    😂 I remember the gazillion ends to weave in on the Barbroe top - overall it was a lot of fidgety work on this top. 🙊😂 I made a looser fitting one and I haven’t worn it that much, probably cos I was traumatised after making it - I found it a very tedious knit. 😅

    Would you mind sharing the excel sheet you used for calculating your gauge

  • @tangerineknits
    @tangerineknitsАй бұрын

    Hello! I can explain the sheet if that's helpful (so I don't accidentally reshare petite knit's pattern details!) I listed out each section, e.g. "back" , and I calculated the following information: 1) # of Rows the pattern tells you to knit (e.g. 20 - making up a number here as an example!) 2) What length this number of rows equals to - which is # of rows divided by row gauge * 10 cm. As an example: the pattern gauge is 32 rows per 10 cm, so in this example: the length would be 20 rows / 32 rows * 10 cm = 6.25 cm 3) # of rows you need to knit to reach 6.25 cm, based on your row gauge. As an example, if my row gauge was 35 rows per 10 cm, then this calculation would be: 6.25 cm * 35 rows / 10 cm = approx 21.9 rows, which I can round up to 22 This means I would need to knit 2 extra rows compared to what the pattern says!

    Im knitting the ingrid sweater man version right now. I'm getting terrified of the sleeves now. But so far, i like how engaging this knit is. I have to think because the pattern assumes the knitter can deduce what is meant. It looks beautiful on you.

Always looking forward to see your videos because we have similar tastes in styles and I appreciate your philosophy when it comes to knitting. I love all of your projects and you are becoming one of my favorite youtubers! I have been loving the Guernsey sweater for a long long time but can't get myself to buy the whole catalog because the Guernsey is the only pattern I would be interested in making from that book. :( I'll just stare at yours and dream lol. Do you happen to know where I can buy the pattern individually?

  • @tangerineknits
    @tangerineknits2 ай бұрын

    Hello! Aww thank you so much for saying that, that made my day! Yeah, I really wish they sold the patterns online individually. The Guernsey genser was the sweater that I most wanted to knit from that book too - I wound up finding it in stock at least just as the book (without having to buy a whole sweater quantity of yarn), and to justify having the whole dang book I ended up making like 6 patterns from it hahah so it's worth it now. I am also interested in some patterns from their other books, but I know what you mean - if there's only one that you really are interested in, it's hard to justify getting the the whole book.

    @@tangerineknits were the patterns easy to follow? I'm an intermediate knitter I'd say. I hear there is not any hand holding in sandnes patterns

  • @tangerineknits
    @tangerineknitsАй бұрын

    @@Knitslip I think that on par with other sandnes patterns, for me it wasn't "easy" to follow but it was doable, especially if you are comfortable with filling in the blanks! e.g. when it says "inc," determining that you're increasing in pattern

Actually I talked about 34 different patterns I knitted, and 4 of these (less than 12%) are Petite Knit patterns :) That said, I do actually really enjoy the Petite Knit patterns I have knitted (and will probably knit more). I personally enjoy hearing a mix of perspectives from folks based on their knitting preferences, whether that means the more popular designers or the more indie / less known but wonderful designers. I hope you can find the knitting content that interest you / talk about the patterns and designers that you gravitate towards!
