There are no firearms featured on this channel.a firearm is something which discharges a shot or shell...nothing on this channel has that capability as they are all legally deactivated in accordance to various uk laws imposed at the time of deactivation..this is a "show and tell" channel for collector/historical/living history purposes ...I know what I've paid for items over the years but I dont give individual appraisals.

Very Helpful at the time C. J. 😉🚂🚂🚂
Very good and one to watch out for....good to see you back m8😊😊😊
Good condition considering its age. Good point about which german serviceman they would probably bump into...obviously that would have been aircrew, with flight jacket , flying boots , leather helmet etc etc...but as you say not navy 😊
@@steelhelmetstan7305 you know things are bad if you had seen a member of the german navy walking up your street in 1941!!!
@@historicmilitaria1944 🤣🤣🤣👍
Fun fact… all the Lorries left after the BEF because they were Right hand drive caused many accidents ….. .
@@davidbrennan660 true...they may have changed the bodies to something more suitable but they couldn't alter the driving position
Thanks for the presentation. A small cross guard makes sense as a longer version would get caught in clothes or equipment and poke the wearer. I've taken to collecting clones of various styles made in India or Pakistan and have one like yours but with a 7 inch blade, your shorter version (6 inches ?) would be handier. My crown jewel is a modern made genuine Boker reproduction of a 1915 pattern with both a leather belt scabbard and metal sheath with spring clip. I've read that post war many of these knives ended up as personal trophies of Allied victors and then NATO personnel stationed in W. Germany and Austria, and that stocks turned in to governments were sold as military surplus to S. American, African, and Middle Eastern forces. The Turks particularly liked these. Still something comforting to have while strolling in a crime ridden inner city tough neighborhood. Cheers.
@@richardkluesek4301 I've just taken in a current replica of the ww2 german fighting knife complete with spring scabbard, very convincing it looks until placed next to a real example where the natural wear from being handled can be compared with the new off the shelf copy...a fighting knife will always have a place in warfare in spite of all the modern tech
@@historicmilitaria1944 Hope you make a follow up with that. Windlass who makes the replicas claims that the metalurgy mimics the specs of the wartime originals. Top grade steel was deployed to firearms but second tier material went to things like the cutlery. A softer steel was still a useful knife or bayonet and had the advantage of being sharpned with a stone or piece of rubble in the field. I'll never test theory that but will open up lots of junk mail with mine. The Boker is real world outdoors trustworthy.
Great play set
And I still have it,among other things!!
When i first saw that sword in the video, i thought of the sword that was used during the American Civil War.
@@darrengilbert7438 the us 1836 artillery sword was based on the french one

Nice finds CJ with some helpful info
These have pretty much had it,nice russia finds but I havent kept these, not in any rush to replace them as I have other stuff in the pipeline.
Very nice interesting leaflet
One of hundreds of paperwork issued at the time, but hardly any were kept once VJ day came
Nice. and full also great find
Nice cheap bits for a kit display and the like
Thats finish off nicely and the stand sets it off
It makes it pop
Nice interesting medal CJ
Another one crossed off the list
Some nice items from Stan
I really like that pamphlet. Simple, but I can imagine those being passed out to local home guard units, etc. I was a member of the national guard here in the United States years ago. I can see the same type of item being given out here if we had been in a similar situation back then.
I would imagine most of the countries involved in ww2 had masses of similar paperwork ,but hardly any were kept
You really come across some very interesting historical items. I really enjoy your channel.
Thanks, tho I'm not finding it in quantity like I used to
100% agree, it isnt all guns and bayonets.....how the heck have they survived all these years?😅😅😅....there must of been a date years ago when it was deemed they were too old to chug on....probably msrch 21st 1961 😅😅😅😅
I bet they were strong!!!
Looking good m8, interesting the pre scrunched up part, i wasnt aware of that, good stuff...😊😊😊
Theres various private purchase differences between ribbons, including quality ,basically its however much the recipient wants to pay to replace the official one
@@historicmilitaria1944 good info m8😁
An interesting one to watch out for 😊😊😊
Return of CJ!....yeh the 'Timbuktu ' book is an eye opener, probably like me it's outside your area of interest, but it's a great read nonetheless....in fact I found another copy in a charity shop the other day and I've passed that on too!😊. The 3rd reich art booklet is something I really like, the gold lettering etc...I'm going to have to get a frame for mine and get it set up....the paintings inside passed me by a bit but the front cover is really nice, cheers m8😊😊😊
The cover is stunning, very art deco
@@historicmilitaria1944 yeh I reckon a visit to hobbycraft or something like that is on the cards for me ....at least I can nail down the exact size 👍👍

Yep it was..still a bit at times
These were also used during Market Garden. Although it seemed not to have attracted any German attention. About 2 of these have survived one is quite damaged in a private collection and one reasonable good condition in a Dutch resistance museum. The Americans also made their own a bit more like the movie prop version, but never used them. One of these is in restored condition in a Southern France located museum.
I really don't like when companies reproduce maker's marks. That kind of brings it from reproduction territory into forgery territory. There's enough fakery as it is, we really don't need to be helping the scammers out.
Absolutely true,in most cases the maker of repros will deliberately add a minute detail to the piece which would not be on an original...it may be a slight detail in the maker mark or in the overall finish of the piece
You have an Interesting selection of Somme relics. When I think of relics, I usually think of shells and casings, maybe a buckle or so. These vids show that a relic can be almost anything. I wonder what words were spoken through that telephone handset. Good stuff👍
@@Ground0-dn1cv tho most of the good stuff has vanished into collections long ago...its now illegal to detect the ww1 battlefields or even pick up a surface find...it has to be bought from licensed detectorists along with proof you bought it from them and did not take it yourself.....the legal line is anything in the ground from the two world wars belong to france....if you come from france to the uk with relics and cant prove you bought legitimately from a dealer, they could be confiscated.
@@historicmilitaria1944 All these rules and regulations sure make life fun don't they.
They certainly do
I wonder why people have a higher price on the WW2 Burma star.
@@Joecarer of all the campaign stars, the pacific star and burma star are the hardest to find, being rarer than the others, leading to a higher price.

Very nice. The Africa Korps have certainly been remembered more favourably than other WW2 German organisations.Probably due to the character and legend that was Rommel. Very nice thing to have👍
There seems to be respect among desert rat and afrika korps veterans, more than other organisations
That is really nice indeed👍 I'd love one, but I bet they are pricey now though. I seem to remember some being converted into table lighters back in the 1970's. A real classic.
@@Ground0-dn1cv I got offered one last week which had been turned into an ink pen well and stand, but trench arted items isn't my thing.
Wow, crudded up, but still all there and reconisably an SMLE.

Nice! Those were some big shells. Imagine passing and loading those into the guns for hours as they did.
It took some dedication, even with the ones bigger than this
Some of these old board games have really nice art work.
@@Ground0-dn1cv I suppose in a way what was on the box is what often sold it....then the box art turned out to be nothing like the game!!..it must have been challenging to do box art for a board game.
I remember Ebay had an issue with someone selling one of these some years ago because of the Swazzies on the cards. Very nice, I remember this one👍
They did indeed, also the colditz board game gets taken off from time to time
I don't remember this one, but I would have been around 3 when this came out, I like the art work on the box.

First thing I thought was that it must be rare with the pistol as most kids would have lost that, I provably would have :) Very nice thing👍
@@Ground0-dn1cv once the pistols lost, the game is pretty pointless, so I reckon you're right
Wow! 👍 I never would have guessed what it was if I stumbled across it.
Several patterns of commercial available armour were made, the imperial war museum has sm identical one to mine but theirs has the seperate throat piece, mine is missing
You show, but never explain the internal magazine pouch. So designed that when a a mag is inserted, the pistol won’t fit.
