Interesting. I'd likely assume that was a post was a post war repaint too as it looks like it was professionally done and the liner removed

What you said about the liner damage was really interesting. I knew about the stacking "rings" on the exterior. I bought a late ckl shell a few years ago with very similar paint. The leather had stains around the drawstring holes which indicated removed metal eyelets used on Czech Cold War helmet liners. After a couple of years I decided to do an acetone test on the shell. The exterior colour was as flimsy as the black Czech Civil Defense paint. Underneath was a slate grey paint with no texture and no reaction to acetone. I'm commenting because nearly all of my shells are ex Czech unlike most of your helmets. The top of your NS looks pretty beat up in the video but the paint covers the damage. It would be an interesting addition to the debate about these helmets if you wiped a cotton bud soaked in acetone under the liner. The Egyptian Contract seems fake to me but from what I have seen the helmets are post war Czech repaints and reissues. Thank you for showing your M42.

No prob it's never a good idea to stack german helmets with liners atop of one another because eventually they will stick to each others shell

Some can when it comes to money....theres a fair amount of rare ww2 german customs swords in the uk...thanks to some enterprising dealer who in the 1970s bought cheap german army swords then replaced the army crossguard with customs crossguard.....which he had made!!!

Thanks...its a bit like some uk dealers buying stocks of brown leather luger holsters back in the 1980s,all stamped SA..meaning they were finnish army.....then advertising them as rare ww2 german Sturm Abteilung brownshirt holsters!
