    How easy was it? I always joke about putting a turbo on my tj. Also, what is the purpose of the snorckle because it looks like the air intake is exposed close to where the stock is with a K&N filter. Either way that looks like it was a fun project good job.

  • @BoostedTJ
    @BoostedTJАй бұрын

    To do it neat like this it's literally hundreds of hours of fabrication work. If you go back to the older video you will see the snorkel was functional but is too small for this setup so currently not in use but will be again. How hard it was to do is entirely dependant on your abilities or financial position if you want to pay someone else.

    Sounds like a wet fart actually but that'll be something I address down the track with a new muffler arrangement as the old setup is a bit rowdy for the new build. Thanks for the comments though it's finally approaching some sort of completion.

    DUUUUUUDE. That thing is sick ! I love the gold as well, Im thinking about doing some sort of AMC Metallic blue or that Mopar gold color too with some flake on just the block ! I'm leaning on the blue to stick with its AMC heritage but this video after seeing the gold makes me want to do a glossy and metallic gold ! i'll see what color i want 😆 Man i so excited for ya man 😁 It looks damn good ! Its good to see this thing "alive" like you said! I cant wait to see how it does and performs once its in the jeep Im in the current moment of waiting on my machine shop for them to even touch my block for machining, a good amount of forged goodies will be in it from Russ pottenger and to mention i will be doing a stroker! I was gonna do just a 4 Liter build but piston speed isn't much of a concern IMO since you really cant get past 5800 supposedly cause of Cam harmonics and it breaking double roller setups like you and i are ! So with a 4.5L i should be good ill keep the Rpms below 5600 daily, It will be N/a for about 2 years maybe, ill be doing a 8.3:1 Dcr and a Static comp. of around 9.4:1 or so i should be Ok with the nitrous it will see and a turbo, The aluminum edelbrock head should help too with any pre detonation to an extent compared to iron! Will run an ARH header too so induction wise i should be pretty good !

    @@BoostedTJHey man just wanted to ask are you keeping it a 4.0 so the stock 3.411 stroke ? i was thinking about doing a 4.6 but realizing that i want to rev at 6200 rpm N/a and some nitrous as i cant afford a turbo setup im thinking about keeping it a 4.0 .030 over and etc. and since i like to rev pretty high im gonna be utilizing a ATI super damper setup from Newcomer racing and a cam setup from them most likely 228/228 113 .509"/.509" I'll see what happens since i need a new motor asap since my Lj's motor i about to give out pretty soon..........

    @@thatmand4542 I stayed stock stroke as I feel the power this will make is sufficient with out the additional potential for issues that may come from steep rod angles in the stroker combo. Inline sixes are inherently very well balanced, I'm not sure I would be spending the huge dollars on the newcomer balancer unless you were seriously going to rather to 7000 and under competition conditions. I would internally balance the rotating assembly though.

    Our dollar is weak, looking at about 6k for internals after shipping and import duties, another $1000.00 for the turbo and then you have clutch $1000.00 (if manual), machining (about $3000.00, fuel system $2000.00, etc etc.... Needless to say it's not cheap. You could do an engine swap for less but due to Australian modification laws I wanted something reversible.

    if your planning to run 25lbs you better strengthen up the bottom end crank and get more work on the rods sanding down the castingmark on the side and shot peened, that turbo can make serious boost

  • @BoostedTJ
    @BoostedTJ7 ай бұрын

    No one said 25 lbs. I said 14lbs or 15lbs and that's only if the gearbox and clutch doesn't destruct first. Also when you're stress relieving things like rods you're not "sanding" them, but thank you for the advice.

    Man this is a really nice build for what we have out here wich is about close to nothing since there is no real turbo kits for a jeep tj Id love to see this thing progress into something badass if you do build a motor and what not thats my plan for me, build a nice motor that can punch out 300hp N/a and then slap a supercharger or turbo,or a centrifugal S/c since thats what im currently thinking about but i would have to make my own brackets to hold it wich leads me to go with a turbo plus i do like the noises of a turbo but i'll see what i can do later on in life :D

    The biggest issue actually is high cylinder pressure and tight ring gaps expanding and causing the piston crown to break off. The car has been running this configuration for over a year now and hasn't had a fault whatsoever, when it does eventually die I will do a built motor but until then ill just keep jeepin.

    Firstly, I just want to make it clear we only provide engine management service and therefore we did not have any work within your interior. The area you have the gauges installed - when in a workshop with the bonnet open obstructing lighting to the cabin it is not visible & to be fair iv never had a vehicle leaking oil from a gauge previously it is not something you expect to encounter. By the time we noticed the gauge leaking that pocket was filled with oil. We did take a second to nip up the nut and clean the major spills. I have logs on our dyno integrated to the dyno document with the air fuel ratio data your vehicle never ran richer than .76 lambda. Post dyno your map sensor failed. By this point you continuously mentioned you did not have further funding for the vehicle. During pickup you installed a random sensor in the place of the failed neon map sensor, and clearly the engine would be metered incorrectly. The subcontracted mechanic which was diagnosing the vehicle post tuning had also found the incorrect spark plugs were fitted to the engine, they did not have the correct reach for that particular engine which will directly affect flame front propagation also. He reinstalled the used original spark plugs to the engine which were in the vehicle, as instructed by yourself. I’m not certain we can be held responsible for all these failures when this vehicle is predominantly suffering from incorrect components installed by yourself. The flexuous torque curve I would have thought would be due to the occurrence of some valve float. We have responded to your dispute and need be we will have our legal representative deal with this further. In meanwhile I hope your car works out.

  • @BoostedTJ
    @BoostedTJ Жыл бұрын

    Cannot wait to hear from your legal representative, meanwhile I await for Vcat to hear my damages claim. You should have refunded me for not knowing how to tune the car and then at a minimum offered to have the damages repaired - you choose to ignore my written request for business information for VCAT. I have since taught my self to tune via HP tuners and got it right my self - you useless prick. Good luck. For anyone else reading this please check all my other videos documenting the damages caused and the incredibly poor running of the car post being Tuned by Tuned by Anton Ravenhall.

    I love seeing WJ Jeeps out in the wilderness doing what they do best. The WJ may not be the safest truck for the highway, with that fuel tank explosion risk in the event of getting hit from behind, but I have other vehicles for the highway while reserving my 2004 WJ Overland HO V8 and 2004 Laredo V8 for when the going gets rough. Thanks for posting this sir. Spectacular scenery out there too.

    The wrangler intake is at the top of the engine bay on the driver's side - providing you don't go fast it's ok as long as that right side stays out
